S6E12: Participants on the Way of the Cross

Today's Daily Decade, on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, offers prayers for Rene, who has been admitted to the hospital with water in his lungs. Because of the urgency of his case, I've made an exception to the usual Friday Requiem prayers, and we offer for him prayers of the sick excerpted from the Sacrament of Extreme Unction. Today's Reflection is on the four participants in the Passion on the Way of the Cross: the Blessed Mother, Simon of Cyrene, St. Veronica, and the weeping women of Jerusalem. We consider who each of them are, and which of them we are, and which we ought to strive to be in our own path to the Cross of the Christ that is our Salvation.
