The Berlin's built on hope. And welcome to another episode of Radio Rebellion, Star Wars, World Cup, Happy Home. I'm not that sorry, this is like a host. I'll do one, can only, I'll do it.
Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Later, I'll do it. I'm doing well, I'm doing well. I have an announcement to make. Oh, let's go, let's see.
Let's see. This is my last podcast in my 20s. Oh, wow. I'm turning 30 tomorrow.
Oh, well, happy birthday. I'm very excited about it. Oh, man. To win my 30s again.
Well, congratulations. So, you have a good one, a nice one. You'll celebrate and have another fun. Thank you.
Thank you. Yes. This is the last time you'll see me in this phase. Next week, it's like Dr.
Hootie. I'm just going to be generating something new by tomorrow. Precisely. We'll talk a little bit about Dr.
Hoot maybe at the end of the time. We'll have time. This is going to be a short show, I think, because last week we're going to take a break. There's no Star Wars news, nothing official.
We're not going to be rushing any shows. Here we go. Official news, official news, or at least some comments, I should say. So we're going to talk a little bit today, but we'll be a short show.
I should say it's news. It feels like news. It's something. It's something more than we've gone by past four months.
All right. So everyone watching out there, thanks for joining us. Make sure you subscribe to our channel. Comment down below if you're watching this later on the recap and give us a thumbs up.
Whenever you get a chance and when you listen to this on the other podcast, if you do, thank you. And also give us a rating and review and follow us over there so you don't miss any new episodes. Hopefully every Saturday, but who knows? We'll see.
Vocations are coming, holidays are coming, people are going on trips. We'll see what we'll do. That weird town will be you. Very weird.
I'm going to be flying at you next Sunday, not tomorrow, next week. I'm flying to San Antonio for a business thing, a world conference for three days. I've been texting for three days. I'm taking my little drawing with me.
I'll do updates with things like that. All right, Otty. Let's go ahead. If you guys are ready, I'm not ready.
Let's talk Star Wars and Star Wars news. Bye, my man. All right. Actually, it looks like it's a comment in the chat.
Brennan is in the chat. Hey, Brennan. Thanks. Brennan sent us a comment.
As we go through today, it'll be a few rebel thoughts that we'll jump in through our talk. Let's get on it. I'll tell you, like I mentioned, Star Wars news has been no news. We talked about this last week.
There's nothing going on, but we finally got something. Star Wars, everyone's favorite friend. Dave Filoni. It has a new role.
Lucasfilm will be working more closely and directly with Lucasfilm, President of Canada and with better and producer. What? I'll be here in time. Oh, Bach.
Bach, how are you doing? It's been a while. You were saying sorry. It wasn't before me.
Yeah, when Bach comes in, we got out. We're at the camera in a moment. So Dave Filoni got promoted to Chief Creative Officer. He's going to be working more closely with Kathleen Kennedy and anything that comes.
Anytime we start Wars, we're working with Carrie Beck, who also got a promotion. She's going to be executive vice president of Life Action Development. She was a producer on a bunch of the anime shows, Soka and a couple of other live actions. So some important people in the Lucasfilm family got a big promotion.
At first, I thought Filoni was already something like this. It wasn't that kind of category, but I guess not officially. But before we go to some of the comments that Filoni made, I believe it was an interview with Vanity Fair, talking about a talk about all this stuff. When you saw this news, because it came out of nowhere, like always on Tuesday afternoon, it just dropped.
Were you excited when you heard this? Filoni now is going to be very involved in anything Star Wars moving forward. I'm not really sure what I felt. At first, I felt there was kind of like, clickbait things going on because it's been so long since anything comes out.
I didn't really focus on it, but yeah, it was a thing. And of course, like CCO, that sounds like, oh, that sounds like a niche. So I think I haven't really changed my mind on it so much. So I was excited about it.
I know we'll get into everything, but I think it's good that they've assigned a person to a person to oversee the vision. And maybe somehow help with all the disruption that's been going on throughout the years. Maybe avoid the situations where halfway through pre-development or pre-production or whatever, you suddenly go, this doesn't really work with anything, so we're going to stop it. Or maybe even have with the production and pick out the creators and come new ones.
So hopefully that's where this is really going to help. Yeah. Let me read real quick what he said. One of his comments was, now I'm what's called Chief Creative Office of Lukas Johan.
Filoni does want to defare which places him into the development process much earlier and in a much more expensive capacity than his previous advisory duties. He goes on to say, in the past, in a lot of projects I would be brought into it. I will see it after it had already developed a good way to go to what you just said. He was brought in maybe halfway or whenever.
He's my, my, my, I can just speculation that this doesn't match with what's gone before, what's gone after. So I, if you heard me talk, I'm not the biggest Filoni fan. I like when he's done, but I don't worship at his altar. But I've always said that if there is someone inside Lukas film or Star Wars that knows how to connect all the dots and what George Lukas wanted to do, I would say somebody's mentality if Filoni was the guy.
And even though I'm not his most ardent fan, I think this role fits in perfectly. And I'm very excited for what he might bring to this. Like you said, it's someone to be there at the beginning. If this, if someone's trying to once or make this type of movie or this, this story that someone wants to tell, he can start kind of piecing those dots and say, okay, this works with this story here, we just got there over there.
Actually, we're building something similar, so let's do this or that. So I think this works great for what his strength is inside Lukas film and what he brings to the stories are done there. I mean, I'll be the, the most ardent fan again when it comes to him writing all these stories. I might not like all these stories that he focuses on.
But in being that overall, like you said, this guiding light to help people and, you know, capping can be a great producer, you need to involve in all these creative things that I want a lot of complaints are. I think this gives her time to just go do her own stuff, like produce and do what producers do. And leave Filoni as a great creative mind to be in charge of that beginning creative process. I think it's a great step for Star Wars going forward.
We just read, I think it's in these other comments. I'll just say something else. He goes, he says, I'm not telling people what to do, but I do feel like I'm trying to help them tell the best story that they want to tell. And what I feel a lot of complaints are people that are against this.
Can I believe that he's not going to be involved in writing, directing, producing everything? No, he's, he's not going to do all that. So I'm very happy for this. Okay.
So, let's stay sick this. So I agree. At first, I had to start, like, it was like very cynical to me to be like, oh, so now everything's going to be my livers. But like, that's not really true.
I 100% agree with you. I don't think he's going to be there every day with the writers. Like, okay, let me say no change this, change this, change this, change this. Let's see how we fit a so kind to this.
No, take that out. I don't like that. I don't think that's this role. That's like too big a role to have.
I think it's more to sit down with these creators, whatever they are, and help them iron out their vision in the context of the story. And maybe like, you know, when you sit down with Lord and Miller, instead of being like, no, they are hard directors. Like, say now, then what do you see? So console going through.
What do you see this movie tying into if anything? Yeah. And maybe that's when they go like, no, imagine this kind of comedy, body cup, something. And they was like, hmm, but that's not really like what we want to do with this franchise.
And maybe avoid those situations. Yeah, exactly. And again, like, I really believe that Mando is still John Favreau's story. And Dave is just there to make it work in a larger context.
Like, I don't think if Dave wasn't there, we would have all these connections to Clone Wars and Rebels with Mandalorian. Like, that's because he was him and he was there thinking like, oh, we could do this. This is the tie into this other story. And I think that's maybe what he's going to bring to the table.
And I wonder if when John Watts came with his idea for skeleton crew and Philone got, well, actually, this kind of fits with this Mando storyline that we're doing and then match that together. And I think if that's the way that works, and then again, we know nothing about skeleton crew, it might suck, but maybe the greatest thing. But coming that if that creator comes, and I think Carrie Beck is going to be in charge of trying to find all these different voices, and we have this story that so-and-so wants to tell. And then Philone is able to say, okay, so this matches with this that we're doing or like, what's your plan?
And then we can see if it fits the overall narrative. So I think that is a great way to go forward with Star Wars, especially with even though I love the sequel trilogy. I agree with some of the criticisms that it wasn't planned out as a lot of other things. Having someone there to help build those test parts, that is going to be a huge positive going forward.
Just randomly thinking maybe in that situation, you have Dave sitting with JJ and JJ being like, this is what I see, race arc being, and snow shark and Kylo and look, whatever. And then when Ryan comes along, we don't need to have that conversation between Ryan and JJ and Dave sits with Ryan. He's like, hey, what story do you want to tell? Oh, this is the story.
Okay, this is what I talked with JJ. Does any of this mesh with what the story you're telling? And maybe he can go, hey, maybe I could, I really hadn't thought of this. Things like that.
Again, I don't think he's there to iron out every detail of every script and how it, I think it's more like a broad vision of everything. Yeah, so the last thing I have here, I said, he mentioned when we're planning the future of what we're doing now, I'm involved at the inception phase, which is all these kind of, no different examples we've been given. I think, again, not the biggest fan of Philone in general. I like Philone even.
I'm not like, oh, we're now a savior. But I think this is a very positive move after we get, and the season two, Akolai, Skeleton Crew, and the Mondo movies and the three movies that are already planned. I'm sure he'll have some some handling in those. Then we can see what he does and where Star Wars goes forward.
I don't remember what I saw when on Twitter or something. He now has the job that people think probably that'll go fast. Exactly. I mean, he actually finally has a job that Kevin Feige has at Marvel.
He's finally the same position. After seven years of people talking over him, that way he finally has a job. What I saw, some of the comments out there. There's a bunch of comments.
Okay. So, Buck has some mixed feelings. So he's saying that he'll try to keep Tannen tight mostly. Yeah, I agree.
He's kind of like George into the aspect. It's kind of until it's not. And we'll figure it out there. He's saying, except no green lightsabers.
We'll see. And no more queer characters after the act. Okay. So that's like a very important point because the same has not been the biggest champion of, you know, these voices in the past.
I don't really think he's like a bigger or anything. I just, he's just like kind of this guy who's like really not thinking about it. And maybe like, um, grossly oblivious to it or something. But that's why it's important to have those voices in the room.
So that's where I hope that what we're saying that, yeah, he's involved. Hey, Dale. That's what George was saying. That he's not going to be that tight.
And if I create a comms and say, Hey, this is the story I'm going to turn. This is my characters. And one of them is a queer character. The film is not going to, actually, I don't like it.
So I'm not just changing it to a regular or. If that's what's happening, I really, really hope we find out because that will be like a game changer to everything. So hopefully not, especially after an episode like Dr. Who had today.
Oh, you can do that. We need to evolve. Hopefully. Yeah.
All right. So let's jump real quick before we go to our next story or some of the comments. We'll just keep talking about this thing. I'm not going to say it out there for people to just let me know what their thoughts were on this announcement announcement.
And Peter saw at Peter source said it's not really as important as people think in the slightest. And I kind of understand what he's saying because he's always involved in a lot of it. Hopefully, it's like we say he's not going to be changing a lot of the things that the new voices out there. Kind of bring to the table, but he's sorry to tell this moment and we won't know for I don't know how many years with everything that's already set up.
I don't know. So hopefully, I think it's important, but maybe not a game changer. I don't know. Do you think it's important or we'll just make it too much harder with.
No, I really think it's important. I don't think we'll see the effects of this for a while. And I heard Alex, David talk about this and I 100% agree. This is the kind of thing if we never found out about it, we'd never be like, Dave has his hands all over this.
So, I would say someone from Grabels or to Don't Watch, I would say, oh, that's Dave. He's what he's saying. You don't think they get me with a big, so being found like, hey, I'm going to drop to me in here. I told you, Nick and Dave.
So, oh, maybe we'll now get like, full-cooling stories. Oh, man. But yeah, I don't think we'll see the effects. I think maybe we'll be like, oh, this is running so smoothly.
Like, haven't heard of myself in a while or something. Yeah, I don't know why I posted or someone replied to something like, wasn't it better when we didn't even know any of this behind this stuff? Like, we all love watching that behind the scenes of how movies were made. But all these corporate stuff, we didn't care about these as kids.
It doesn't matter. Just give me the product, right? Give me the movie on the TV show. It's funny, like thinking of the fandom manuscript, how they always said they would fire Kathy, give Dave full control.
And now they gave full control, but they didn't have to fire Kathy. I wonder why. I wonder how that works. And even let's say, because she's been in this role now.
Oh, by the way, the next thing we'll hear is like, they are not giving him full control. There's a civil war going on. It would be when something sucks. Let's say, because a lot of people are saying, yeah, we change it.
This wasn't his plan. This is not where the religious move on. So Saturday, AM0 at Stake, classy, SDCC, his lineage and rifle era parent, it is unavoidable. Something kind of mentioned.
We've been expecting this. A lot of people have been expecting and asking for if you're going to have a bigger voice in the story. He's always been, we all know. He was brought up by George Lucas in also the Clone Wars stuff.
The Rebels had his hand in bad patch and all the animation resistance, just as I said, producer. It's kind of unavoidable. It's okay. I'm glad that it happened for him.
All right, friend. Alan. Who else was it going to be? Let's be very serious about this.
Who was it going to be? Maybe this is something that should have happened years ago. I'm sure that Katik and his great producer, but maybe she shouldn't be involved in the creative. We don't know how important she was.
I don't know what she was involved in the creative side, but I just think it's the very Hollywood political game. We can't give him full control. He just did an animated show. He ate lunch with George.
He made his coffee. He had to get his hands wet, directing and writing life action before he could move. He spent this for years that Katik and Kenny have been bringing him up. Hey, we're in Johnson.
There is a plan. We just want it now, I guess. I mean, again, to that point, he was really just the animation guy. They were suddenly going here.
Run a company. A $4 billion company. Running. Really?
So yeah, I don't know. Again, it had to be him. Yeah, as you can say, Tony Gilroy. It was never going to be him.
I want to do a quick Tony Gilroy thing in a minute. I love that he got this because a lot of people wanted Katik and him to be the president of Lucas room. I don't think he wants to be the president of the like. And then we have a problem with that.
Not your job. You don't know anything about that. I don't think he wants a job. I saw this as a building block too.
That job mainly consists on going to my liger's office and screaming at him or getting screamed at by him. So I don't think he wants that. Yeah, screaming for more money and then getting yelled at when you didn't make enough money back. I don't really think that the guy has the time to be on set.
Yeah, actually he is a God bless everybody. Again, there's a lot to look at film more than movies. It's everything. It's a movie.
It's a movie. Not just Star Wars. I know he has a name. But I've seen people saying, oh, now Andrew's going to be in trouble.
You think Tony Gilroy griefs three Fs about the philosophy. I love it. But it's not. Yeah, yeah, whatever.
I'll call you back. I'm doing this stuff. I'm now having this mental image of Dave being like, oh, I want to discuss Canary with you. And Gilroy is like, I don't know what Canary is.
The other funny thing I've seen is like, well, he now can't direct this movie because it's like, James Gunn just got made CEO. CEO. That's Kathy's job. That's the one that got screamed at by someone else.
And he's directing Superman, like writing it. So, like, he's in the water. He can. Yeah.
All right. So Alan, our friend Alan, who actually I forgot to tell you, or the Alan. I think I'm a reason why. My question is if not Dave, then who could do this job exactly?
Yeah. So Alan reached out the other day saying, hey, when you guys talk about Eye of Darkness, let me know. He wants to join. So what Alan here, I guess, the Eye of Darkness.
He better bring his energy of lightsaber. Oh, please. Oh, this guy's will be everywhere. And I think it's a Disney right now.
This is over there. He's always a Disney. I need that lifetime. All right.
So Alan, Alan, my team, right. I hope if you want to bring back some of the Luminos authors to bring some Harry Paula Jedi in animation. Maybe the next is also the Jedi. And this is where it kind of, yeah, no animation.
Filoni, he'll be there. And it's, excuse me, some of those Jedi is up already, John. So some of those characters have already jumped to the High Republic show that. Sorry, I got young, young Jedi venture, but yeah, going to tell so the Jedi someday, a lot of people have hoped for.
It'll be great if we get, like you mentioned last week, maybe get that young, Stéland, Avar, and, uh, Oh, I got like a story. Yeah. Give me one for this idea. Give me three episodes of them, one for each.
I'll be freaking awesome. Yeah. That's actually like one of the great things about Dave, like getting this job. Like, hopefully now we got more animation things like, um, we're, we're due for something like, uh, bad matches coming to an end.
So yeah, I read a report at all official, all the shows are green little official for 2024, which we haven't really just from our website, but they put bad batch already. See some three next year. You think it's coming out? Then it come out this year?
You think 2024? We might just get it? So I think it's too soon, but maybe to the end. I mean, maybe they're like, made it, like maybe they never stopped working on it.
So maybe it's going to be ready for next year. Like it's, it wasn't this year? I don't know. I think it was last year.
I think it was. Did it make me, because this year was Mando and Ahsoka and then visions to my business. Yeah, it was last year. Okay.
All right. All right. And then our friend Brennan wrote, I just wrote a little bit there because he wrote a, a lot of fans are panicking and judging the audio before they seen it as they often do. Too many people just start words are what's going on behind the scenes or what they think is going on behind the scenes.
That kind of thing in sunk that's equal to reloading for some. So I'm going to let you start. Oh, this is basically what we've been talking about for, for a lot of it today, right? It's like, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
Just wait and see what happens. I saw you tweet something. How was our friend from the dark side of the force handling this? I don't know.
No, not today. Or no, not today. Like a couple days. I think on the news.
No, maybe I retweeted something. I don't remember tweeting like his reaction. I haven't seen his reaction. Oh, you're not seeing it.
Oh, I thought you had seen something. Okay. No. No, I just don't.
I really, I told you, I'm trying not to pay a lot of attention to the source. So I don't really know how people are taking the news. Like, so I really haven't seen any fighting or screaming or crying. I just, this is what I mentioned before.
Just so people say, oh, now he's going to be involved in everything. So it's going to be in everything. Freaking. I was watching the big thing with hard law.
He has his guess on his stuff and like a 30 minute thing on this. And a lot of the complaints were people saying things. Oh, he's going to have his hand in everything. And he doesn't like andro.
He's never talked about andro. So he hates andro. He's not writing everything. He's not writing everything.
He's not writing everything. He's not going to have his hand in everything. He's not going to have his hand in some tool of andro. That's almost already done.
But they don't have a trailer out there today. It's like, forget about it. It's like chill. Yeah.
Whatever. All right. Excellent. Let's leave it there.
All right. So a second bit of news. Let's do something else on the chat for the Filoni thing before we move on. They always go saying something that I'm not really understanding.
So that's why I haven't showed it. He's talking about something about Ray and Ben and asking training them and really getting it. Sorry. I'm just going to highlight this one.
This one makes sense from there. I don't think they will be the one to tell people the ideas don't work. He'll see them in a way that makes them work. Exactly.
Yes. We'll leave that for there today. All right. So the second news topic talking about Ray is Daisy Ridley was out there.
I think she was talking to Kolaida. She has a new movie coming out and she was. Wasn't this an artist article? What article?
An article from Arso. I think she wrote it or Maggie. They didn't do that interview. I think she was the one to talk about Kolaida.
We're the one interviewing. I think it was Arso. Oh, yeah. So it's a big Ray-law part at the end.
And of course they're involved in everything. I love how they're doing. We need them back on the show soon. But they're not coming.
They're re-ending. Yes, they were learning. All right. We'll have them at some point hopefully.
So she knows this story but hasn't read the script. It's really cool and not what she expected. And knows this story about one movie but doesn't know if it will be multiple. So it's a very cool script.
Not what we expected or a cool story. She hasn't read the script yet. It's kind of tease that she's read one but might be more than one. We're going to be very excited for it.
It's there. Ray's coming back for the people that keep saying that those movies are never going to happen. I'm excited to hear it from Daisy Ridley. She's excited for the movie.
Again, we know nothing. But it's exciting to have this out there. I loved reading that article. Because I could hear her voice.
She apparently said and she sounds excited. She sounds like I felt like I've been with everything she said because it just felt jamming. I felt like Daisy really being excited about new Star Wars. So yeah, I freaking love that character.
And I can't wait to see her again. I want to know what the story is. I love how specific she shows her words because she's saying there's a story for one. Maybe more but there are no plans.
But if you go see it, maybe we will. So yeah, exciting. And I love that she said, oh, yeah, because I didn't get invited for lunch a few years ago. It was just lunch.
And then she told me we talked about this year two years ago. Of course, it's six to make Star Wars. And I'm just like, you'll flow the way from San Francisco for lunch. No, so Star Wars movie was going.
So she admitted that that lunch was a Star Wars thing. So she said that when she was invited for lunch, she started with just to catch up. And that's why Tatiq and it brought it up. You're flying.
How many hours? I love it because if it was two years ago, that means it was one year after Rysus Skywalker. So literally like the year after that movie, Kathy is like, hey, we want to make more. Yeah.
I'm very excited for that. What that movie is going to be. But again, if you really think about it, like that movie is going to come out like early as six years after Rysus Skywalker. Yeah.
So it all began like a year afterwards. So if we had no like a year afterwards, like, oh, they're making the new one and be like, oh, so, so no, wait a couple of years. Like, no, here it is six years. It's like the, the Kenobi show, right?
When you and my girl finally said it, I've been keeping the secret for four years. These things take time. We don't hear about them till it's ready to be announced. I started podcasting in 2017, 2018, early 2018.
And one of the first things I remember talking about, like what like literally first three episodes or something was like, we all know there's a Kenobi movie coming out. Like, we all know this. Everyone knows this and it took like forever for that. Oh, man.
All right. So we're excited to finally get some official Star Wars things to talk about. Hopefully we get something before next week. That's cool stuff to discuss.
Yeah, exactly. All right. Hopefully soon we'll also get something for Skeleton crew and or season two hopefully we'll start getting some trailers out of some more information coming soon. All right.
So we got a few minutes. Like we said, it's gonna be a short show, which I don't mind when there's just a couple new stories. I think this is a good way to do a show going forward. Well, let's go.
Cause there's something dropped today and we've been waiting for a long time. So let's go to not really. We are a lot of people. I've been talking about it for a long time.
But let's go to a world between fandoms. All right. All right. It's here.
Finally, after like two or three years without Dr. Who, the Whitaker came as the 13th doctor, I believe. You're regenerated to David Tennant. Everyone freaked out because we're supposed to be in duty.
He's coming up with episodes, but the new Doctor Who special is gonna be three episodes. The first one dropped today. They're gonna be showing at BBC and also Disney Plus at the same time. I'm gonna rage about our gosh about in a few minutes.
But I know for a year or two years here, we make fun. You've tried to get into Dr. Who like three or four times or four years. It should be something that you enjoy where you haven't been able to get into it.
But your cohost Tony is also into it. You guys are going to discuss it on your own podcast over there. But you say you are going to watch these three episodes. So as someone that has tried to get into Doctor Who, but you know the overall idea of it.
You don't need to know everything. What were your thoughts coming into today watching this episode? Okay. Where do I start?
Where do I start? So as you mentioned, I really have in the past right to watch Doctor Who. I've tried different ways. It's not really something of my, at least aside from what episode I really loved.
It's really a self-contained episode. So as you mentioned, Tony is a huge Doctor Who fan. I know he was very excited for this. And on my podcast, we discussed Hustle the Dragons, but Tony was not a Thrones fan.
So as a reward for him for me, I watched it. I said, I'll watch the three, the three specials. And if I like, I'll keep watching it with you and we'll talk about it. But if I don't, that's it.
Like that's my last try. You can't do it. Like, so, and he was like, Hey, you can watch the first one. If you don't like it, we don't have to talk about it.
I was like, no, no, no. I'm going to watch the three episodes. Just three. Um, so I clicked play.
It took like a little bit getting used to it. And I was like, this is like so weird. Like the big alien people. And, and again, the, the, the, the episode starts with a recap of what happened, which was pretty useful.
And again, since I have friends who like Doctor, I've heard these things before. Like I had an idea of what I was watching. I really wasn't like, you know, all knowing. I, I, Tony reminded me that Will is the guy from the game.
So apparently that's an emotional story. And I just see a joke. Oh, my name was mentioned and the actor died last year, I think. So it's going to be even more emotional when he shows up at some point in this next two.
But they, they even did a, they're a funny joke with it. Like, no longer with it. I was like, oh, no, no. He's a whole plate.
Um, so with all of that said, I have to admit that I really like. All right. Great. I really liked it.
Um, I bet you can guess what was the thing that made me go like, I'm interested because it was ridiculous. There were a few things that were ridiculous. I don't know which one. Not that, not that we are the aliens.
That's not going to be, uh, what was so ridiculous? I don't know. Some of the jokes were, I don't know. Everything worked.
It wasn't when, so it was the whole meat thing. I was like in France with what was going on. Yeah. Hey, let's just mute.
It went free because I'm watching. So my wife doesn't like Dr. Who she's the last time watching. She just works by.
She's like, this is the weird, all these aliens. So when me show up, she's like, oh, they're finally doing a cute alien. And then 20 minutes later, she's all they're back. No, he's like, sorry.
Sorry. Sorry. That's like the kind of thing I love when it happens in Star Wars. It mostly happens in animation, but I think that's like the kind of thing that George will be like, oh, let's do that.
Um, but it was the moment when, um, they would send in like stops the car, walks out with me and starts a trial. And the weird aliens are like, yes, no, I am sorry. And this and we're thinking it because he's a terrible monster. And they're afraid of it.
Like what is happening? And then shadow proclamation together. And then he's like, me. What's your point of view?
I mean, he was like, you know what? You was because I saw when they're driving off and I forgot the name of the weird aliens. They shoot at the car and I detect like nothing is happening. And I'm like, okay, whatever.
We stopped the who and that's the first thing I mentioned. Well, you know, there's nothing happening to the vehicle. This and that and it's very interesting when you check the polls on the, on the soldier. So it's very, in this very chaotic scene, they just stop and have a trial with a weird, really weird.
But I love, like you said, that a little introduction at the beginning, even though I've watched like five episodes of the two of them just to get ready for this one. So I kind of knew what liked that little recap. I love it went right into it. We didn't have to go to that regeneration at the end to kind of know what happened.
It kind of was explained. I said, when I'm extremely excited for the next two, because David Tennant or this doctor still doesn't know why he has his face, why he was chosen back. Something is coming. Him and Catherine, they have great back and forth since 15 years ago, like they said, the last time that they played those characters to still be at that level coming on was great.
I love the introduction. They didn't waste just taking the boxes. Are you going to expect it to be here with a fun reveal? When he hears the name Rose, I just frees it from me.
We know that someone else are like, Oh, I feel it. What does Rose mean? Oh, I'm just going to slap her. So in the two seasons, when he, so when Dr.
Who returns with Eggersone, so the companion, her name is Rose. So when Eggersone leaves and David Tennant starts as the doctor, it's the two of them. So this doctor and Rose is the companion. I forgot her name is Blonde.
I just forgot her name. And that season that they told them are together, it's very emotional season. Right? I mean, you don't care.
I'm just going to spoil it. So they just get sent to another dimension, basically, to a parallel universe. Right? She's confesses her love to him.
I love you. As soon as he's about to say it, the connection between both universe and it cuts off. So he never has that goodbye with her. Oh, wait.
So Bill, Rose is really good. Billie Piper. Yes. Thank you.
So, and of course, in those episodes, we've got to intate in season five, I think in season four, she shows up and they have a couple, they have a good reunion and she's another, the tenants doctor gets dividing to two doctors. So she's able to go to the other parallel universe with a version of him, but still, there's something that so every time the name Rose shows up, it has that connection to her. Yes. Same with Will.
It's like that Will for you and it's going to break everyone. So, Will is it going to be in the show? Yes, because I saw they released a table read that they did from the Doctor Who Twitter account. They released a big table read and he was there.
Oh, man. So he's going to show up at some point. So I love him and David Timon. Or like best friends or something.
In the show, you mean? Yeah. So Will for someone that believe that something was out there, he has this big telescope always looking at this guy. So when he finally meets the doctor, he's like, oh, see, I'm not crazy.
There's aliens all this. And he's very attached to, to Donna Noble, Catherine Tays character, her granddad. And they're very close, almost as best friends. Like he's a human, no, and Donna Noble were best friends.
They had that type of relation. It wasn't nothing romantic. Like it's been for some of the doctors. So it was a best friend character.
But that relationship with Will for just almost it. When second to last episode with Tennant, when he regenerates, he has to say or sacrifice himself for Will. I'm not going to waste time explaining everything. But they have a conversation when Tennant's doctor can say, hey, I would have been proud if you were my father.
So it's that type of father-son relationship. And when he wipes Donna's mind, it's kind of telling Will why and why he can't tell her everything. And they're running gag with her, why she always misses the big. Everything that happens, she always misses it.
Everything that an alien comes in, misses. So that's a running gag at the beginning. When the starship crashes, it's like, oh, no, it's not the habit I didn't miss. I missed it again.
So that's been a running gag for years. But yeah, that's when he had to promise or Will had to promise not to remind her of the doctor and all the adventures they had. It's not that Will had to carry for years. So it's going to be very interesting when they're able to meet again.
Okay. But yeah, the meep was, I love that turn because in all the promotions, the meep is so cute. So I love that turn. It was very doctor who I love.
The Sony screwdriver has some new abilities now to be able to do that little screen out of nowhere. But I don't know. It's everything in it felt extremely doctor who, which is always one of those things that you're not too sure about. If it's going to hit the mark, but to me, it felt like it kind of keep pace with those other series.
And like we mentioned before, we're talking about what Bob said that maybe Star Wars and Finone is missing. And I think that's a very interesting presentation for LGBTQ trans people, non-binary, and usually they're with Donna's daughter. They're essentially people might say something else, but it's there. So there's no confusion where Doctor who and the friend on the creator stand in terms of, no, it's instant point and ignore it.
And like story, Doctor who's been at the forefront in this and David Tennant, if you follow him, he's always carries his pin out there. So I love that it's there if people want to complain that's on them. But to me, it was fun with what Doctor who represents. I really like that reveal because I had no idea.
I didn't know it was a trans actress or anything. Yeah, I wasn't sure. It's cool to see it. And also that scene when they're in the spaceship and the panel comes down and divides both of them.
And then he has to decide if he's going to Doctor who, yeah, exactly. The Star Wars connection there. So when that panel, that glass can screen between them, he has to decide to give her her memories back knowing that she's going to die. When people say we Star Wars, oh, it's like poetry, it rhymes.
That final episode, not final, but when Will and him are separated. So he's behind Will, he's behind the screen. And there's a bunch of radiations going to come through. And he's not in four times on the glass door, which is a recording thing for the whole season that when you hear four nights, when you're going to die.
So he knows, oh crap, if I don't save him, then Will is going to die. I have to change positions basically. He does this great speech of why it's not his time, but he has to do it. So one of those, it's like poetry rhymes again with the glass door between them.
He has to decide then I get to kill Don't have that point. So I love that connection. So very excited. And of course, that me leaves with that little kind of noggin.
Oh, I'm going to tell my boss. I can't remember the exact thing. And then of course, the artist, which looks great. Every time there's a regeneration, it's all this change.
I love this started. So humongous, all the white problems, everything. So very excited to see the next two episodes. I will say it says boss, the open up carries.
Maybe a lot of, I don't, everyone sees the toy maker, the galactic toy maker or something. I guess from the original Doctor Who, I don't know that those over there, but apparently this is also an important character that's returning. And I didn't want to mention, like, not even being a fan, there were like two moments I had me like, it was when Donna like closes the gate and tells them like, oh, you go, I have to go help the doctor. I was like, yeah.
And Donna's mom was like, she called the doctor. I was like, she did. Yeah. And like, she said, Doctor, I'm trying to remember.
Wait, this is mentioning and then the mom remembers. No, it really got to ask what when she said the other part was when she supposedly dies and suddenly it's like, no, you gave her half the power to Rose. I was like, yeah, dude, I was, I was stepping up. I was stepping up in that scene when it was happening.
And it's I'm glad that she's back. All right. Well, between fandoms, let me say what I watch Blue Beetle the other day. Finally.
You like it? I loved it. It was very good. It was a lot better.
