I mean, it hit Florida, hit it pretty hard. A little bit, nor did I, I was 60 miles. Sorry, just missed us. Didn't take that turn to the east, didn't do the Gandalf, looked like it's on the third day.
So we barely escaped, so I'm happy. And we're able to be here today. Not a lot of human casualties, thank God. So, hopefully anyone that did get hurt or got, I'm sorry, probably this can get back on the feet quickly.
So, alright. All day before we talk, Star Wars, I'll talk a little bit about the High Republic. I'm not sure if I've finished, this isn't it, but I finished Tales of Light and Life earlier this week, yesterday actually, so our spoiler reviews on our website, so go check it out if you guys want. And if you can, I forgot to put the link in the description, I'll do that later.
And then once you get it, because you're getting the Barnes and Noble edition, right? Yes, I am. Alright, that one comes with an extra story from Alisa Wong, so I want to hear your thoughts on it. And once you read it, we'll do a full spoiler review here.
Most likely after I saw guys dance, we just went cutting to our reviews of the episodes, but it's gonna be fun. It's a pretty good book. I won't talk too much about it today, but... It felt very nice.

So I read it. I got my copy of it from a certain point of view, but as I was telling, I read it for me, like, oh, just whenever I have a chance, I don't really want to show you. I was saying, I don't remember which one she wrote. So I like to pick a little song in the chat real quick, and I'll also, what I think about it.
Oh, that was the worst one. That's the worst. Again, there's none of those stories are bad. It's just not my type of anthology book.
Harry, public one. Yes. This one, maybe it's too many stories. And I'm like, I just want to do something else.
How many stories are in later life? Nine, I think. And then yours is going to be 10 with Alicia Wong's story. Oh, that's the truth.
And what I like, it's each story. It's long enough. It's 20 to 30 pages. So long enough to tell a full story without being too rushed or being drawn out.
Like, oh, they should have been a book instead. It's 30 pages. There's little breaks in between, like, not actual chapters, but when it's, there's kind of some time changes. It just gives you a little reprieve if you know, hey, I need to take out an hour break or something.
I'll just pick it up tomorrow. You can stop halfway. So that's pretty nice. Okay.
That's cool. And again, it's stories from before phase two, phase one, and then going into phase three. So it kind of covers everything. The one I was, that is a very interesting one.
Yes. Not too bad trouble. That's the one I like. But yeah, that's, you don't want to be a trooper captured by Ewoks and what they do to you.

often scumbat as required and no july travels alone or the annual d or before you tell me which of these kind of pop out of you I'll say the outpost staff by droids it's kind of mentioned in tales of light and life oh really yes and it makes sense because the july and the republic are reeling right now so they don't have a lot of resources we hanging out in the outpost out there so it does make a little bit of sense from what we know the order is like nope everybody come back to course yeah like no more it's in the rules like no more exploration like this is where we're coming home um interesting interesting to see this happen of course it's on purpose it's supposed to parallel what's what happened in the clonewords yeah which takes me to uh our tweet exchange because i was trying to make a point and people were like no no you're right i'm like no i'm gonna say i kind of wish this works for them because i think it makes a tragedy of the clonewords even worse like them being like hey we did this before and it worked fine we won it's like no it started downwards finally we're on i want to see how it works because even though in the clonewords obviously didn't it also came from pappa team manipulating them and that's something that we learned through brotherhood by my chain and also in inquisitor red blader make a point of hey we've lost a lot of people in the battle of jeanosis a lot of jeddah we need to make pappa ones nights and they're not ready and it's kind of the same thing that's happening here so it's maybe what you're saying hey we did this 200 years ago and it worked out it's right again but early pappa one trials there's been a lot of talk about how young some of the nights are right now like for a natural role with the youngest jedi knight at 16 and people comparing that to give their children are pushing to high school and call this one they're not ready and how that affects them now they're gonna be doing this with a bunch of kids are not ready often scones but actually quires are jedi going from people's up east to combat really it's kind of weird i'm terrified of emery getting like rushed to the where all this like that gets like very unstable so having them go through this it's gonna be interesting no emery is going like yeah it's my time now kill some nylo i'm only 15 but i'm ready i'm ready i got in my ass whoop like five times well this is my chance um so those are pretty interesting independent research pause i know jedi travels a big one but i think that's a cool rule it's a good rule but we know that at least in phase two they were with uh forget the name of them the Pathfinder groups and then phase one they were always in pairs but yeah there was no one else so maybe they would bring back the Pathfinder although they didn't see too much of the mushroom in phase two so in phase one they were like kind of traveling alone but then they ended up together um into the dark komak was traveling alone more than traveling alone um there's ryanin which i'm trying to know what's up with him yes we're speaking back please probably like the safest person right now is gone he's got off he has no idea what's going on i i kind of want like a short story of this like maybe he's in some lost planet like in a village and the nylcom and he has to like go out and save the day or something you know that would be very and i'm not going to spoil anything from tells of life which is weird because this book actually comes out next week but they saw that few copies in komakon and san diego so reviews are out there i'm not going to spoil it but what vernessaral which is one of my favorite characters was she's something she does in this book that she decides which i love if she can just meet death right that's right then it was she's doing now it'll be a cool pairing i'm just gonna leave it there that's interesting okay um tony's here hi tony i'm excited tony um when i when are we getting tony um okay when i come next week just next week is supposed to be a big episode why is it supposed to be an episode it's a midway point we're always setting it to be a big battle between all the i'm gonna have to thing i'll say about teso light and life this is a book if you enjoy the high republic and you're caught up you fall writing and it sets up everything that you need to know as we move into face three there shouldn't be a lot of setup now for phase three but if you're behind if you say hey i haven't really read the high republic i want to know what's the all the hope about it this is a number for you you need to know what's happened through everything or you're gonna be completely lost i can imagine yes all right and you're gonna love that murder road story that second story it's one of my favorites okay it's pretty awesome that i can read it i think i read about my wife she is as crazy as you remember is it after fisu it is one year after phase two and she is in the gay selectry doing stuff and finding people a year of insanity yeah and what i love it's basic all of her is narrating the story as it's going and i know i gotta say who she's narrating too but baby mark yon or maybe ask her we'll see we'll see or maybe everyone that comes after her we have all right so i'll say scariest they retweeted us early today they have a show coming up after us i think at seven pm central you won't know what's going on all right all right all this all three of us so kat came out um i don't remember the name of it um something about something else so initial thoughts on this we got the first two episodes last week everyone was on a high we really enjoyed those two episodes episode three dropped most of the people online seem to enjoy this highly a lot of people say it was their favorite episode they reminded them of clone wars as rebels and all these and there's some things that didn't allow me of animated star wars i did enjoy it it's not my favorite what were your initial thoughts on it when you finish it i like the episode i like that that's i like things i guess um but um like you i i was more than online like talking to people i know they were like this was the best episode of the show so far i was like really this one yeah okay interesting no and you know good for them um i i don't really have any complaints about the episode but there was like nothing about it that i thought was outstanding so that's like kind of where i fall but yeah good episode yeah i have one i once i complained but one issue is not with the show i think it's mostly where you start with tv in general and some things that they're afraid to them we'll get to that soon but if you compare it to star trek i will leave i will freaking leave like jesus christ i'm gonna get you like a red hat that says like make star wars star trek yeah red shirt i'll be one of the best shirts i will say no it's i have one it's not about star trek it's something else right i will say there's one there are two things i complained about last week especially the one about the acting or the two monotone that's gone everyone here reminded me of their animated personas everyone had the what i think was the right emotion tool that since we're going they were expressing them through their facial expressions so that way they were talking it kind of makes sense for that things are going so all that i don't say complaint because i've been sending two of them all those little issues i had from last week they're gone i still think the wooded acting is there i like i like it i like it it can't it can be there but i think it at least for myself it wasn't as obvious as the first two episodes and i'm not gonna i'm worried that i don't want to hear ever again it's story it's like everything online stoic i said okay what's too stoic and here was too stoic no do you just learn stoic just find another word because we need that they want to say what they want to say but they can't because they know it's misogynistic all they want to say is why want to soak a smile more yes stay at you faster and i and i get it and that's why sometimes i'm afraid to i don't say criticize this show because it's female lead most of the main actors are female characters so i'm afraid that any complaint is gonna be oh you just don't like woman characters you saw which is far from it and like i said i just think that some of the acting on the first episode were very straightforward but like i said this one i think it changed for me at least i mean i'll say that you shouldn't be afraid of it like that like it's coming from a good place all right so actually this is our story and story i'll talk to you so best and i don't like girls in the show yeah why is it with their long hair and their framing features yeah but you know why i think like one thing i always blanks me is that a stoic a title cover it comes out it's i say you complain i literally haven't thought about that the i'm just watching the show okay here comes the title cover everything's black and then those white letters it's too big it's my old eyes can't take it just give me that little blue ring it's more condensed i don't know that's why i'd be a sumpel i have no complaints about that all right so let's go into the Jedi training this is something that we've been waiting for a while when did i soak at train sabine this has never happened and that's how the show starts we got brand new training first i soak up with who yang going through all the the process of this right like just playing get like trials when you have to borrow against dark maul and they tell you work to block very cool scene i love the whole training scenario especially when i soak up i come see i love that they mirror of course that looks like i walk a training with the blast shield but i love that they didn't go with the training remote it's been done give me something new yeah so i love that it was awesome with that it was like like severs like great and then with all the other like severs they have back there like where did you get those i want that story yeah they have like a stash like it's like kind of in kennobe when they have like a stash of jedi robes and like severs anyone anyone here you go here you go they enjoyed the training session yeah who yang is kind of a dick um so but yeah it was a pretty cool scene and but i like more what you know that leads into the conversation okay so before we get into the conversation with asoka i love when she's training with asoka and after a few kind of rounds she starts blocking a few shots imagine that was look look blocks one i did it i did it i know everything i need to know about the forest i think i know where i'm doing literally this time all right so let's go into that little chat that they have and i'll say i need the dinner table that just rises from the floor and you can just hide it i love that's pretty practical yeah so coming into this episode and after it a lot of the chatter online was why does that we need to be a jedi she's not a jedi can everyone be a jedi and those conversations came up almost it seemed like philoni went back in one day and all those when sabin is talking about i can't feel the force i don't feel like you do and then asoka goes without what you want we all know the forces in everyone you just need to train focus talent comes into it all that stuff i'll just say i know you said it was a joke but like more than philoni going back and writing that i think it's the symptom of people judging everything of a show that they haven't watched yet oh of course how many times have we said oh that's philoni just wait three episodes now how many you learn so like and even here we were like oh do we want her to be for sensitive that happened on screen like and you know no that's not what the story is like shut up and watch it so what about that conversation again with asoka saying trying to build her up a little bit like yeah it's innate or you need to be kind of born with it but we all have the forces in all of us it's trained and focused it's very important the forces in all things so did you enjoy do you think this is enough to get sabine kind of going into it or do you think this should have been a little bit more how to connect to the force i mean like the forces aren't real so i don't need a tutorial or you need to do this and this and this um but i did love that scene because it's something that i've been screaming into the winds and they some people gonna set when you say it and it's like no that's like by the sign this is what it is like you would have said it and i think it probably will be one says a new hope and then we got um midichlorians and for some leaves they're power levels and uh okay yeah so i like this going back to basics and so coming like it's something that's there not everyone gets to top it but some people can like and if you work hard enough you probably can't it reminds me you know this past week everyone was posting i guess on wednesday everyone was posting but well connecting to the forces like this and start don't turn into a lot of things and you were before we went in you were jamming on your guitar right when you play guitar i play a little bit of bass that doesn't mean we're gonna be opening for metallic at tomorrow right we can play but we're not at that level so that force you can just a little bit any more you train that will you'll get i said something on my podcast i want to repeat like there's this montage on soccer twitter that i love that it shows like dual like dual clips of kristiana huando working very hard because you know he's like a very like obsessive athlete he's always working on his brand and his body and it showed messy just like eating and sleeping which you know it was they always made that comparison and then it caused kristiana ronaldo like leaving the world cup crying and messy like lifting the trophy so it happens with everything yeah so i will because the reason i asked if you thought it made a little bit more i would have loved if after she's standing sabine any forces in all things you know it's training focus on this thing she's not gonna let it seem like to you know that saying oh you need to feel the force around you connect to it a little bit more because it just seemed like yeah you need to train okay see you try to move that cup and leave it so just a little bit more but pushing back on that they already trained before sabine knows what she needs to do all right so here's this is my complaint about this show right now it's commit to either this is rebel season five and everyone knows that sabine already trained with hera i mean we canon or make it a show for everyone because we know that no i know what i'm saying is that there is a history between sabine and asoka of training that we as rebel fans don't know about because and i think the show is just hinting i'd like yeah there is a history there sabine is just merely picking up her training where she left it off or where asoka left it off i'll give you that but one thing it's because when huyanh talks to her and even when sabine when asoka is talking to sabine it's always that mandala or an individual you're good fighting all this stuff and then talking to huyanh she needs to get out of her head this is everything that ken told her when ken had a conversation with her so that's why why can you just mention that she already went through some training with with ken because we're repeating the same beats with you said before the show started yeah we're gonna repeat some of the beats just for people that don't know about it but to me sometimes the show doesn't come in to get his season five you need to know it to all repeat the same beats for new people but again i saw a lot of things like oh they are they're afraid of saying the name uh kenen like what do you want like them saying that and oh yes i remember that one time ken and said that same thing like oh yes great man he died for all yes i'm gonna stop i'm gonna stop have a human nose where is it afraid to mention ken which i do have but that's something that for star wes devie same thing with mando and with obi one why don't they mention satin what's the front and where you mentioned that why don't we mention her we don't make us in every show why don't we mention goes by the way happy birthday goes in every show like why why don't we mention people that we know every single show like because that's not how people talk why i can mention them but there's some times that it makes a little all right so we just want it because we want the fanservice we just don't want to say we want fanservice fanservice is okay when it works and i think so in some sense it can work of course but in that scene i was going to leave for later when we talk about the new republic and hera when i'll leave it because we'll talk about jason and all that stuff but i know what else we have all right so this is my one complaint with star wars television in general it's sometimes afraid to use those classic themes right we talked about it they really think you know we can use the first theme and in people more shooting and it kind of makes sense because you know we wasn't in that mind place at that at that moment but i would have loved it when asoka's movie is talking to her to sabine about using the force and she kind of just very quickly and easily moved that cut to her hand if we heard some kind of notes of the first theme i know would have been very cool because i know we can associate this with big heroic moments if you go back to a new hope they use the first theme throughout the whole movie i was a little bit of the ending actually is like coming and there's right there i i was a big fan of the first thing like i seen people like oh now that's the theme of star wars like yeah phenomenal theme but like driving to my apartment earlier i was thinking like i was literally thinking like i wonder when they're gonna use the force theme and it's okay when sabine goes like this in episode four that would be too reminiscent of the racing yes i was gonna leave it well what he does like that and nothing happens as shit goes on like baaahh well talk about showstoppers that would be awesome talk about flipping the script but i think again there's afraid to use those themes kind of throughout because now there's some classic that we just need to hold them for those special scenes like just give us a little bit you know what i was looking at when she was trying to move that cup sabine and then she walks out and they focus on that cup it's like washing the inception on totem didn't move is it moving come on i was like oh wait she's like you would this time cup and they linger on that it's like a funny shot yeah i was like it's a moving that's three times that i watched it on like huh let me slow it down but yeah let's go to a chat for a second yeah let's go won't see how uh i don't know how to pronounce this no no no no no no no no no no no no no no they're saying i believe sabine has force us in there she's just weak in power she would have barely qualified to be recognized by vanna seekers during the old republican i would have joined the service corps um i think there's something to this because huyang says that he then i love that moment he's like that you call her the worst candidate to be a jedi he's like yeah i didn't Which is what? No, I'll just say like I think everyone is Forceses. Yeah. What else in each other?

Okay. I'm to think of it. There are no old Star Wars music in Star Wars TV. I think the first thing does play a mando at one point and in O.B.Y.
You can only play it at the end, same with Imperial March when it's working with Palpatine. I don't think it's a publishing thing because I think they own it. I think it's more of a composer thing. You want to do your own thing.
You're being brought into Star Wars, you're not going to be covering John Williams with every song. You want to do your own thing. I think it's more of that. You know what's funny about this?
Is Sabina Jaijai? All these things. It's really, especially in Quizito, right? So the Red Blade, which again came out in July.
Not real spoilers. But only hasn't read it. No, it's not a compromise. Oh, I know it, imagine.
We think that as soon as you go and become a Jedi, young, you're a Jedi. You're a Jedi. If you don't pass the Jedi, you'll still kick you out. You're not a Jedi.
Go and they don't kick you out. They will give a position that can help you out over here or there. Even if you're very force sensitive and you don't pass the trials, you're not a Jedi anymore. So yeah, you don't pass the force.
I think it's fine that you kick you out. If you're not ready, you're not ready. That's how I say a lot. When people get fired, they get fired or we're saying they're invited to leave the company.
They're going to get invited to leave. Yeah. All right. So I did like this comment by Yasauken.
Again, I'm kind of worried she's going to be going to be a Jedi. She's just training her when she's having a discussion with who Jan says, I don't need her to be a Jedi. I just need her to be herself. I love that moment.

The Jedi don't own the force. Like the force exists. The Jedi are just an order in the many orders that we mean in Hyropolic. So like maybe something that's for sensitive.
I kind of want her to that be her path. Like being at the end of being able to use the force control and being like, I don't want to be a Jedi. I just want to be a Jedi. I mean, yeah, that's one of the great things I'll face to it.
And especially in Battle of Jedi when they go to Jedi, it tells you like 90 different four sex, the Jedi and the whales and all these other people that use the force and the Sith and all those sort of. They don't need to be a Jedi. We just so used to it. All right.
So most of the episode, 11 minutes of a space battle, which I'm going to say was that long for me. Yes, I measured it. People love this. I love it.
It's on Paris on Tuleesk from the Death Star from New Hope. Some people laugh at Ahsoka doing her little spacewalk. I did enjoy it. Very animated moment.
It was very, very clung wars like, but it's either dead or fishable and then it'll be too big and I would say that. Orbalin. It's Orbalin in the other life. No.
I'm not reading the book. Yeah, just throw it out. No. I just said, it's moving a little quick when she's running through the window that she was doing.
I used to talk. I used to talk. Are you going to like physics complain this? There were explosions even when the laser didn't go all the way.
I always go to this. Like when people complain about the physics and Star Wars, you're watching a franchise where there are explosions in space, which is physically impossible because there's no oxygen in space. Without oxygen, there can't be explosions with fire and everything. Like read a book.
She did a wheel. She used the force. Are you surprised? I was waiting for it.
She didn't use the force to get back to the ship. I was waiting for it. I just wanted to see her destroying the ships with her eye. Oh, let's break it down.
I was like, you're working harder than you need to. I like the space battle. I love how it looks. I love how the explosions look.
I don't know if it's CDI or models. I have no idea. I don't care. It was not jarring, but first, are those villains shaped or are they small or are they CDI?
They look very interesting. Very World War II, of course. It looked awesome. And that's how I thought it was ridiculous.
I thought it was ridiculous. She has a helmet that perfectly fits her. Montrose, what's that called? Montrose, up front, the horns.
It just fits perfectly. Two minutes. She got dressed. But it's not worried about it.
But it was a cool scene. She was shopping spaces. She drove dry by. They're very bad.
Shinhati and Marak and all the others. It's a sitting duck. The ship is dead in space. They didn't hit one shot.
I want to nitpick something you said. It has nothing to do with this episode. I don't know if I leave it for later. I just remembered.

And then when everything is turned off, Sabine starts to fix it. Then one time I can use your opinion on some of that. And then when he learns that he makes the Star Whales. Don't call them space whales anymore.
They're Star Whales. The pergles. No other space whales. I love also that we got a little bit of new knowledge about the pergles.
Not that they just travel through hyperspace. They can travel through other galaxies and they have been using their migratory path to kind of charge those navigation paths. Very cool addition to the lore. I actually like that because it makes sense that they don't have a map straight to throw off.
They just have a map of their whatever you do. Emigration path. So a lot of people. So these hyperspace ring that they have.
Some people are going to force a space whale into it. I think they're just going to start moving away. Okay. They're following the migration path.
Now let's use our. No, I don't think they need the whales for anything. I just think they're in CEDOs because that's like the point. Yeah.
They said they're just waiting on the seven, to install the seven hyperdrive or something. It's not the sweep or do they need a ship to get in going? Kind of hyperspace ring. We need a ship to go into it.
So, but it has like a bridge. Yeah. She was. I think.
Shout out to Tony. He's the one that told me this in the show during the podcast. He said that he thinks they're going to use it to go to the galaxy and that put the chimera in there and. Okay.

I love that ship racing that they did. I love the connection. Colossus. The Colossus was a great ship, which we're all waiting for.
I'm not keen to write the story of the water. I didn't happen. So this a lot a lot to love from resistance. It's not going to be my top or starless animation.

I started seeing this Kain and Kain of hypothesis. We know hinting to it. It feels like an inquisitor at this point without extremely rustic armor that he found somewhere.
