In a culture that measures our "worth by our work and identity by our productivity", the idea of rest might seem counterintuitive. But constantly living that way can leave us feeling empty and exhausted, and pull us further away from God.  In this episode we'll chat with our new friend, Hester Christensen as she shares her journey of grounding her identity in Christ by resting in God. She and her husband, David, have 3 young adult sons and a very spoiled goldendoodle. She is an author and speaker, and has served in pastoral ministry for 30 years within the areas of youth, women's and discipleship ministries. She received her bachelor's in Christian Education at Boise Bible College and Bible and her Master's in Bible and Theology from Lincoln Christian University. Hester authored several Bible studies, including "Fake? Living Christlike in a Counterfeit Culture, a 6-week bible study, four new 21-Day devotionals, as well as co-authoring Greater Than a Superhero. For those of you who love Hallmark, Hester co-authored devotions for the Hallmark mini-series, When Calls the Heart, seasons 1-8.
