We're going to jump into that later, that cover. I mean, I'm just right there. So I've been, I'm going to do a spoiler review, non-spoiler. Is it possible to do a non-spoiler review of that book?
Because we all want to know about the cover. So we'll get into that soon enough. But for everyone out there, if you want to know, please like, and so be in here, make sure you comment. I mean, you like this video, subscribe to our channel, so you don't miss any episodes.

You guys know what I say every week. I want everyone to say on the show as well. Just, I was out. Before we start, I don't know.
I'm hot. I was outside with my family. We came back about an hour ago. It's like 95 degrees.
My kids are in the pool while I'm sweating here. I should be used to it because it's blurry. I've been here for like 16 years. I should be used to it by now.
I'm sorry. All right, let's see. I got my long pants out today. Happy Monday.
You guys saw you tweeting out with Sara. You want to get those blanket from the acolyte. You look so soft. You know who has one?
That guy Alan Ching was joining us. He got one. Here's one of those acolyte blankets. He had it when he was here with us last week.
All right, my friend Brandon, thank you for being here saying a magnificent episode of the acolyte. And Alan, you're always on this and then. Thank you for joining us from over there. And just to make our two free all the blanket is nice.
We'll get that. I'm going to set it at some point. I have to. Yeah.
All right, so let's go. Because we have a lot to talk about. So if you guys are ready, I'm not ready. Let's talk Star Wars and Star Wars on TV.
Star Wars on TV. All right. So about the acolyte, episode three, Destiny, R.C., before we start to dive into it. We spoke a little bit before we started.
But are you being enjoying the acolyte so far? Your general thoughts as we're going into the third episode? I think it's my favorite Star Wars show. Full stop.
I'm loving the mystery element of it. It's not even like a murder mystery because we're open to the point. It's like the mystery element of it and just all of these things about the forest and the Jedi and the state of the galaxy that it's bringing in. It's not.
I mean, it's the higher public. We love the higher public. We talk about it a lot. It's part of the higher public that we're not familiar with.
So we don't know what the outcome is. It really feels like anything goes at this point. So I just love how, I don't know, how up in the air, everything is, we did as much like speculation. Yeah.
I love something that you mentioned because we kind of guess, oh, this murder mystery. We had to figure out who killed the Jedi and all that stuff. I don't know. We already know that.
How many first five minutes there's no mystery to it. Everything else is the mystery. Now going back 16 years, more mystery started to set up. And then this, we mentioned it last week.
Unreliable, now radar. Who's point of view are we watching? What really happened from the other side? So we'll get on to that.
In the next couple episodes, I'm sure we're going to see if I know what's going on. But since last week, we're going to divide the episodes. We're going to put character. But today, we'll do a little bit of difference.
We'll go through a whole episode, not just my video, my jump back and forth a little bit, but that's fine. You guys can follow along. So let's start with Ocean, maybe because that's the heart of the show so far, especially this episode. Is that relationship?
It's a bit surprised, kind of fine. I mean, oh, she's about herself, kind of out breaking the rules, I guess. Yes. Oh, it makes the one to confine.
I got the essential ceremony. She's so happy for it. And then Ocean's going to be, I really don't know if I should do this. I don't know if I can do my own things.
I was a bit surprised to see that relationship at first. So we went through that episode. How did you see that relationship between the twins? And if you have brothers or sisters or siblings, there's always conflict there.
I'm young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young as young. I'm the older too. I'm the older too. I'm the older too.
So yeah, this idea of just from a purely sibling level, like nobody's got the force, nothing, but just from that level of what we do everything together, but I want to have my own identity, it's such a such a sibling thing, particularly if you've ever been in a circumstance where you're maybe like the only two kids in a really large family. So you really only have each other or you live somewhere where like your friends don't live super close by. So you only have each other for a lot of the time. It does create that sort of oil and water tension.
These two have that obviously you throw in this aspect of their mothers or witches and they have the force. It's like really heightened, you know, but from a purely similar standpoint, so well done. It was just even this little arguments in the background while your parents are talking about something very important and you're fighting because of the floating or whatever. We all been through that.
Sometimes you're in the receiving area, you're the younger one and you're the only one like you. You're the only one hearing people. It was such a backseat of the car thing where you're just like poking your skin. Let me go.
Hit me first. It's great to see that. Like you mentioned, just as a sibling point of view, but also what it means inside the story of this group of witches that was exiled for some reason. We'll get into that later.
They have special powers. They only kids there that really don't know why. So it brings a lot of attention. So you're going to have to get together at some point.
One of them was going to go their own way. And I'm just jumping to that point right now. Reminding me, like, oh, a little bit of look. Like, as look, always looking to the stars or to be out there doing more with his life.
I know she's got that same way. She wanted to go see the galaxy. Once she found out what the Jedi were doing, I want to go with the Jedi. So I kind of changed.
I think it was going to be the other way that Mae was going to be the more outgoing when I went to the home. She's kind of painted as the doggist. I want to go and call that. It was a little bit surprised by that.
Also gave me a little bit of... Yeah, go ahead. No, Marda, Ro, and Jana, Ro, the cousins. A little bit different because Jana kind of understood that part of the open hand was just not really what they were preaching.
We're not at that point. We're not saying that which is on brand or whatever. We still don't know what the whole deal is. We got all that tension again.
See if we're family members at some point, diverting. Yeah. I was just going to say that if Osha is Luke, which, yeah, like this whole, I want to go see the galaxy. I want to get out there.
Mae reminds me a lot of Anakin because Mae loves so fiercely and so deeply and to the point where she can't conceive of a life without her sister, like the way Anakin can conceive of a life without Padme. And I'm not critiquing that love. I think that's like an admirable trait. But when you have that darkness in you because for whatever reason, if somebody's put it in there or we can get into all that, but for whatever reason, when that's that kind of aggravates it into this almost possessiveness that pushes it too far.
But up to that point, all she does is she wants to spend time with her family, with her common leaders sister. And then those are inherently bad things, but that's why she reminds me of Anakin so much. Yeah. And even in going back then to the previous episodes, when Mae is this Osha again for the first time, kind of thought facade of this evil person just breaks the energy goes back to the ocean, like Mae is kind of, I mean, I was just having to show the kind of amazing, but that love is still there.
Sixteen years later, that love is still there. Even at the end of this episode, when they're in that bridge, it's like, I'm going to help you. But something happened there. Did she really burn everything there?
I won't take some blood. We'll get to that later. Yeah. What's the biggest part about using that force already?
Especially because when we see ocean that first episode, she tried to use the force to get pip. She wasn't able, but I guess she called it the threat, not the force at this point. But I love seeing both sides. Maybe Osha got a little bit too far holding that space butterfly.
It was good to see that relationship there and start to see the difference in the sense of the ascension. Oh, Mae is really, yes, we're going to do the ascension. This is what we need to do to kind of grow up and join the coven and Mae is kind of, I mean, Osha's more like, I want to go to my hotel. I'm not sure if I want to be a witch and all this stuff.
Yeah. I get great mystery going on straight from the beginning. Yeah. It was interesting to consider kind of what she wants and what she doesn't want.
And then I guess we'll get into this when we talk about the witches, but what they consider an appropriate decision for her to make versus like, you don't know what she wants. Like, I don't want to be a witch. You don't know what you're talking about. You have to opt into this.
You have to agree to that thing that Mother Anna Saya is asking like, do you vow to whatever? So you are making a decision, but that's the decision that feels more appropriate. So I thought that was also interesting. Yeah.
Oh, it was my, I lost my, so Alan is saying that visually I parent try myself with ocean may, I kind of was confused at time, which one was which at times that beginning threw me off a little bit because they, I mean, they look very similar, being twins. So every time they're, oh, she may, I was a bit confused at first, but I was able to get to understand what's going on. I realized about all my second watch that one of the two, because it's two different actors is one of them has fuller cheeks than the other one. I was like, I'm like, I'm like a little fuller cheeks is this twin.
And that's what I kept looking for when I wanted to keep track of the block. Keeping with the being honest, I figured out today. I watch it three times until later. Oh, okay.
So this one is a vision. This one is made just be sure without having to follow who's saying what I was able to tell them apart, which I should be able to do because two of my nephews are twins. They're like twin at this point. I still can't turn that part.
One of the has a scar on his side. But that's the only way I should know. It's not that easy. So talking about the witches, let's talk about these carbon of witches in Brindock.
The visuals of what they say. Yeah. But they're very different. And speaking of being different, Molly, I say in the trailers, what was fainted like the worst witch ever.
And she's such a caring mom. And I understand it more. This is not the character I was expecting, but I love. Like we've been saying everything is a surprise.
So I love that she was more, I was like, more caring because no more like all was caring. But she was understanding, like you said when Ausha is talking about maybe I don't want to be a witch. I want to join the jail icon. Okay, let's talk through it.
What is your decision? It's not that simple. But we'll take your wishes into a candle. We'll make the final decision.
So great to see that. Like a parent having that connection to us in their children. And if they're only eight years old, please hold enough to make your own decisions. Exactly.
And I think the trailer, like the way we see NSA in the trailer is the path of the open hand parallel is there because she has that statement about like the power and whatever, like who's allowed to use it. And I thought that was going to be addressed to the Jedi. Sure. Just because of the way she said it.
But it was such a surprise. It wasn't like a declarative statement of power for her coven, but it's like a lesson for her daughter was such an interesting concept context to put that in. Yes. We got to learn.
Don't trust trailers. They call them a specific way to get us to speculate all those weird things. And then now it's completely the opposite. I was interested in still them.
Interested in learning more. Like who excel the witches? Why were they exiled? Yes, because they're used to the force on kind of taking too dark or maybe leans to the dark.
Who is it? The Jedi? Was it the Sith? Was it someone else?
Why are they hiding? I'm probably. It makes sense. It's the Jedi.
I cannot think a little bit just trying to make all these high republic connections. Even though we're trying to hide that ring gear. You're too dark. I'm going to hide you guys away.
I don't think it's that far. But they're still hiding. Don't go out of the temple or the fortress or stay close. Why are they so afraid to be out there?
I almost wonder. And maybe this is me just trying to get back to the books. But I almost wonder if they were in the aftermath of the path kind of falling apart. If all of these were sort of falling apart after the battle of Jenna, if they're this one group that kind of sprung up and they were living on Jenna, but because they were pushing the force past the point that the Jedi found permissible, that they got exiled from the holy city.
And that's why I do the wrong right. I know it's a different form of religions or different views of the force having that conversation on Jella, including the Jedi, the wheels and a bunch of other people. That's where it's going to be handled by hand-comsing. Two now, you can't turn children.
This is dark arts. We can trade children. You can't. You're too bad.
We're good. Come on. We'll get to that. I know it's been 100 years more than since the end of phase 3 to now in the acolyte.
But the Jedi were not open. And they used to have all these different visions of you You don't need to follow the Jedi Order if the Force is telling you to do something else. But we have wayfinders. I mean, way seekers.
Now there's no way seekers. What happened? I want to know what happened. So much can change in the century.
So like we see how much change between Phase 2 and Phase 1, which is how they operate. So it makes me wonder what's going to happen at the end of Phase 3 that made them like this. That's what we all are waiting for. Yeah.
Well, I'm so close to it. All right, so let's talk a little bit about the thing that broke Star Wars in half. Everyone's been waiting. Oh no, this episode changes canon.
Everything is not in Israel anymore. There's no father, which first I love how it starts to set it up because in during their initial talks, it's older when Molikoro brings them back. I think as he's talking to modernist, I can't wait to be a bit more strict. They were again out of the fortress.
Kind of, they're special. I think that she says something like, they're special. They shouldn't be out there. We don't want people to find out.
And then it starts building that mystery around them and then there was no father. Oh, I carried them. Yeah, but I created them. I kind of know.
Who's that into our mind of what the hell is going on? There's no fathers, governor, which is obviously the only kids around, which like you mentioned before, creates all these other issues for the two of them. Just an up-pearly first time that you heard, there's no father and modernist, I created them. What was your reaction to it?
I'm guessing a big surprise. It was a surprise, but it was like a really good surprise, like the kind that was really well set up because they talked about their mothers and then mother coral types. I'm like, okay, they live in a me-chiracle society. So everybody is their mother was my thought.
And then coral brings them back and then Annassay is like caressing her face. I'm like, oh, no, this is like mommy. This is like their other mom. It's just the only one that they call mom.
It sounds like a yeah. It's like the they call her mama, but they call her mother or they call anybody else about it. Okay, fine, two months. Great.
Love it. I'm here for it. And then there was the I created them. I carried them conversations.
I was like, oh, okay, which I thought was, which of course immediately makes me think of Shriene and Anakin because I do not. But I was like, I was surprised. And then I started thinking through the implications and no, the implications are not that it broke Star Wars in half. But just kind of a question of what the force is capable of.
Like, they made this active choice to create this life. And obviously we have like a light and dark balance situation. So does the force actively make that choice? Is that why Anakin was created as a light in response to a dark?
Like, it enriches the story. It's funny. It's funny. When I watched it that first time without going online, it was, it didn't even cross my mind.
Like, oh, no, I've been lied to for 25 years. I thought Anakin is like, oh, something new. Oh, I created them. Oh, you don't want to get like to find out how.
So okay, there's another mystery right there. Because how did she create them? Exactly. In a galaxy this big with this many force users who aren't Jedi, it's such a presumption to assume that Anakin's the only one who was ever conceived via the force.
Like, I mean, we have walking, talking plants that are dark producers. And there's weird creatures that suck out the force. But yeah, Anakin's the only one. And I'm going to go into, and I don't want to get into that, but what's Anakin created by the force itself and to modernize, kind of using the force to create ocean, which is different than just the force itself.
I don't want to get into that. That's too much for my mind to comprehend at this point. But just to get an answer, but we don't have anything. No, I mean, maybe by the end of the season, we know they're already working on season two, hopefully a couple more.
We need mystery. We don't need everything answered these first episodes. We're just going to have fun with it. And with all the theories out there, and I know it's not canon, it's people go straight to the dark plague, it's normal.
And I did the same thing, but not in the way of saying, oh, he was the one that created Anakin. He was the first one is can play. He was already being working on the Sith, working around this time period, which if we go by that book, well, plague is still a 20-year-old person or even younger, but that's not canon. Plague is going to be walking around being the Sith master right now.
Plus, we know in that second episode, time here, which a lot of people assume is the dark figure, super face, steth face, whatever you want to call him. He's using Poisson and creating all these different things with different herbs. And that's something that plague is still, he was a master of, whoa, I think I wrote it there. Sith Alken, he's devil in sea.
Alken, maybe he poisoned one of the other Sith that was starting to kill him. He wanted to mess with me the glory and said, maybe they're picking from all these little things that are out there, which are legends or whatever. Then bring it into this story. Maybe talk about that in say or as if talk about that in say how to kind of work on it.
I'm just not a very cool witch. I, Plagueis is one of my blind spots because I haven't read the book yet, so this is one of my blind spots, but I feel like I have to know. I actually say, I did the audiobook last year, and it was now it's one of my favorite books. It just, it's all about the forest and weird, Sith and jedi stuff.
And yeah, just give me more weird for yourself. Yeah, like the good side with the high report, like we got all the evil side with that dark plague is novel. So there's some things that kind of make me think if the Sith are involved in what's going on with the discover, which is I'm creating the twins, then maybe he has his hand in there. I would love that connection at some point, but we'll see.
Yeah, maybe we should have everybody's brain would break if I guess it's involved in a good way. Yeah, so when I was talking to Alte, we were like, maybe not yet. Maybe he's master like, 10 of us is the Sith master right now in the shadows with Tithi guy in the middle, and then when Tithi guy is out of the picture, then Plagueo comes in and kind of flipping it. I want to put Plagueo's now as the person in the shadows.
Okay, I know half the fandom, same thing. It's just like, no, it's not a life. He's like, that's not canon. I don't care.
He could be whatever at this point. We're gonna be doing right there pulling all this stuff from legends that just kind of suits the narrative now, and you just work it in however it works. I love when people go nuts when that happens, but when they announced that they were kind of putting X- one of the universe as legends and then everything else was canon, they explicitly said, we're gonna cherry-pick the stories that we like and we're getting to catch up with none about this world 10 years. It's still a surprise for some.
All right, let me say hi to a new friend here that saves me. Cheers all first time catching your life over with us. Well, thanks for joining us. Save with me.
We are doing well. We're having fun. So let's, all you guys out there, let us know your theories. You have any questions for us.
We'll be happy to answer and probably be wrong. We'll have fun doing it. It was like the amazing. Was your, I love, I really enjoy the life inside this carbon.
I love how expensive it was. It wasn't just like five witches signed in a cave. They had their own culture, their own little businesses. Spies straight over here.
They go, it was a built-up society. I enjoy seeing that. I loved it. I love these witches.
I hope it's not the last time we see them. I don't think it is because we're gonna revisit the events of the episode. I would love to know more about them. I love their whole society and how, like you said, like how expansive it is, how big it is, how sort of develops feels like the wrong word, but yeah, like they developed this community away from wherever home is for them.
So I absolutely adored it. And you know, the end of the episode broke my heart because of how that ended up for them. But I love the color. Yeah.
I love these shows so far. I mentioned last week is every place that we go feels different, feels lived in. There's people walking around the streets, those vendors, the other places there's speeders going by. It's not sometimes you see shows and it's, yeah, there's two people walking by two extras and they just reuse the same people.
No, this is a lived-in place. It's a happy community. It doesn't feel like, no, this is a, like I thought the back of the open hand was just a front for a, I thought they're, anyway, they're all crazy. This seems like a happy place.
I want to be there with that. Yeah, so let me tell a question. Yeah. So just, we say with Miss Empez, Han'tu and Kombat so far on the show, the voice voice also, I hope it continues.
We're gonna get more, more fights in there. But I know, Alan, you love your spice cream. Spice cream recipes, starwars.com and it's social media has gone, I've gone crazy with the acolyte. First with the yod horde.
Now there's videos of him steaming his robes that recipe for the spice cream is out. They're going all out. I don't want to try the recipe a little bit. You're not right.
Yeah, I'm not much of a baker but I do want to try. As far as the recipes there, you don't have the ingredients. You would think. I say it about my oven.
You gotta put it like a hundred degrees lower because it just goes crazy. Oh my gosh. Sometimes you're not just a recipe. You're gonna make sure your appliances are working properly.
So I was thinking, talking about working properly and different house, something worse sometimes, all the time, it doesn't work. There are different things. It's the thread and the force. So I love that.
I wish I was a name. I not just called them discover the witches but that they see the force. It's still very similar to the way we usually see the force in terms of connects everything. Just for them is through this thread, you pull on it and your, you know, your story isn't kind of set by the force.
If you start pulling the threads that you can expand your destiny, what it connects everyone to them is through this family unit, but it connects all of us, which is very similar to what we see the force, but it's more that it's not a power that you use. This thread is not a power out. It's yeah, we'll use it. It's not to the way that Jedi uses it.
So I love when we see different interpretations of the force. That's one of my favorite things of the high republic and I love that we keep getting that. Do you enjoy the way that they that we get this also in the acolyte plus the way that the thread kind of I don't say what about the view inside this? Yeah, I love I love the review of the force because I feel like the Jedi have this view of the force as being predestined in some cases and kind of being the thing that guides you and the force will lead you to XYZ, but their view of the thread is the thread connects you to everyone and so basically every possibility in your life.
And it's how you choose to follow the thread that will determine the outcome of your life. So it's a lot more active in the way they view it than I think maybe the Jedi view the force like I think the Jedi view the forces of their guide, whereas the coven views them as the guides of their own thread and architects of their own thread. And I thought that was such an interesting way to view it because it almost like flips the way the Jedi made it. Yeah, for the Jedi that something happened.
Yeah, we're the first. It's that we're the first. Don't think about it for that. No, if something happened, don't you make it happen.
You have your choice and how you want to kind of follow your life and follow this thread depending on how you pull it. And I also enjoyed this the power of one the power of two the power of many cannot the same time. Similar to what you were just saying going a little bit against what the Jedi kind of view was the really force. We don't have those familiar connections because even the ascension ceremonies, okay, one side die more than say you guys will kind of pick up people will be able to get this familiar relationship for the Jedi is like, okay, you come with me they won't see your family anymore.
And it's usually just the master and the apprentice. It's not this power of many. So I like that kind of difference right there, which I still love to get. I will defend the Jedi to my death, hopefully not, but I love to see that sometimes I get I don't say defensive when people throw the light, no, the Jedi evil everything happens to their fault.
Like, no, they're like, great, they have their fallings and their failings, but I still enjoy them. But this the way the the the common words, it's not saying that, but it's just the own version of well, this works for us. I think the way the common operates in a general sense kind of reminds me of the way that Jedi operate in the higher public air, like phase one and three, and the base to as well, because like in the books, in that, you know, you have your individual choices, your individual roles, whatever, but you also have a community of your peers that you practice well, because they notice a lot of the padawans, a lot of the knights in the books have a friend group. They have people they are attached to like, like their friends, their masters, their love interests, like whatever they're they have this kind of collective connection that, you know, they might preach as being a detriment when you get attached and we can talk about that later, but like, they are also like a safety net when something goes wrong when you're struggling with the force, with loss, with whatever, you have that support system, and that's really important, and I think the cupboard still has that and the Jedi are losing that.
Yeah, one of my favorite things are the Harry public that you just mentioned, it's because we're used to from the movies, the match on the apprentice, like Obi-Wan and Anna, you know, are there a look and Obi-Wan, and then Rey basically by herself, when the Harry public you have, how many Jedi were not measuring it, potentially four, it's like five together, you never see a Jedi working together, even here in the aqua, you have a group of four Jedi going to this planet to figure out what's going as I love seeing multiple Jedi, not just because they're cool, but also because they have that kind of support group that you mentioned, even going back to Intillidar, which is my favorite book, kind of expanded my mind about the force would be, is when Koma is talking about how, when they lost his mass on that mission, how can the Jedi, or the Jedi, expect us to get attached to a master, this person with being with them since we were kids, we grew within the basic fathers, they died, and they just wanted to bury them in a mood and say, I really forced them just to go by with our days, like, that's impossible. And like, yes, of course, and then we see that all of the phase one, especially with all that and being a way seeker with Koma, at the end saying this is not for me, the way this war is going to just go to my own stuff, Kent and also trying to find himself, that's what I love about it. And yet this carbon can have been something similar that we might have the force, but we're on this together, we gotta stay close, keep our culture, traditions and all that stuff. If you want to try something else, OSHA, we'll hear you out, I will see you with that in the last one.
I love that so far. And yes, Sabre Smith, master so it's also my favorite, one of my favorites, it's very Qui-Gon-like. I'll give you a point. I know that people go straight to Qui-Gon, and so it's very, I mean, I don't know the other way out there.
Qui-Gon was different, Saul is very different. I think Saul's gonna break our heart back at some point when we really figure out what happened. I'm raising myself for it. I think Qui-Gon has a more outward looking force word looking you to everything that Saul is very in the, I know Qui-Gon has that line about keep your mind here in the now, but like Saul lives that.
He's not really in here and now, but Qui-Gon's like, we have to consider bigger questions in a way that Saul probably does, but he's like, at least so far, seem to bring that into his like day-to-day practice the way Qui-Gon does. Yeah, read the leaving force. Love Qui-Gon in that book. I'm like, still out there, help one person.
Don't worry about the whole of the galaxy. There's people suffering over there. That's the Saul Qui-Gon parallel. I'm like, why got the bad the medicine, Saul?
Don't really. Yeah, yeah. Speak about what measures, and it's not part of this episode, but being so shabic high reported, as you are, does Marnet's role feel like the Marnet's role you know from the books? Does it feel like a different character?
Second-versation of Marnet had last time. She feels different. Again, it's been 100 years, or whatever. People change.
We don't know what happened at the end of phase three, but at the point we are now not spoiling the living force just yet. She's not in line with following the day-to-day order as much as she seems to be in the active level so far. Seems like two different characters. She scares me in the way she is.
Let me clarify. Like, the way she is scares me because Renestra is, you know, she's a bit of a, like, she's an overachiever for sure. It's a little bit of a renegade with that light with her. But, you know, she's also 17 years old where we're at now in the books.
And all I can think every time she's there talking about, you know, we have to be careful of our political enemies, not the republics enemies, our political enemies. We have to say, like, she's basically like, we have to do the due process and we can't just go chasing down the lead, and like, she's become so, like, woven into the system that I all like and think every time she's on the screen is what happened to you? Because she doesn't feel the same as she does in the books, but also because we have that 100-year time. Like, people change over five years, over 10 years.
So what happened to you in the last century that made you like this? So that's what scares me, both about the accolade and about the rest of the books. Yeah, that ending. I don't want to get to the end of age three.
I'm afraid. You were so close? So close. Less than a year.
But let's talk about now, the Jedi on Brandoque hiding in the shadows, hiding behind the trees in the forest, kind of creepily looking at the twins, but so they're there because supposed to discover this covering, it's training kids in dark hearts. And they go straight to say, well, they got elected republics says blah, blah, they get caught up. Well, republic law, we're not part of the republic. So get that stuff out of here.
But then they go, well, we're jealous. So you can tell us we can't test them for we have the right to test your kids. Yeah, we have the right to test them with your permission, of course. How did the Jedi feel to you?
Were they only creeping in this episode? Are you? I don't mean to draw a parallel to very real life struggles because this is a show about space wizards. But there is something in their language of them going into this group of people and being like the way you are raising your children is inappropriate.
So we're going to take them away and raise them our way is a colonizers mindset. It's happened all across North America, it's happened all around the world. So that like, there are individuals, there are a lot of individual Jedi that I love so dearly and like it will defend to the dead. But I think that we can see the cracks in the institution that this is not what they were supposed to be doing.
This is not what I think anybody intended for them to do, but this is the institution that's it's now set up is for them to just kind of go in and take kids as needed with your permission. But anyway, they wouldn't take them anyway. Yeah, it was a bit shocking. Maybe because it's yeah, I think just happened too fast.
We didn't get enough time to kind of spend a whole episode there or two episodes. But I know you can't the way TV shows were it's not really for it. That it was Oh, no, we didn't know you guys were here. Oh, you have children.
Oh, we're gonna test them. I'm gonna take them and it's happening at 10 minutes pan. It's like chill out. You don't know anything about the witches.
You don't know if the kids are fine. You don't just come and take them because they've been training dark art supposedly. Yes, hold your horses a little bit. It was a little bit shocking and Oh, I don't know.
I love my Jedi. Well, like you said, the way Alice in Dara was working, it was kind of the one pushing everything. Maybe that's why they killed you first, but I feel like these people were probably well intentioned like as a collective, but it's almost like they can't hear what they're saying. Yeah, you know what I mean?
Like you can't train children. We can train children though. I'm like, you need to listen to the words you're saying. Yeah, it was no.
We're gonna take children. Hey, oh, yeah, if you want, you can be a dealer. You want to be a dealer? Come on, come with us.
But we don't take them and what you're doing is wrong. It's like, and again, we're not part of the republic. Yeah, we're gonna. We're just like, I do what we say.
But why exactly? They're not doing anything wrong. I think we're gonna get that as we get back into it. And that's why what I love about again.
Let's say headland mentioned this before the show came out. It's not gonna be what you think. It's at least two different versions of almost every thing that's happening. So let's just wait.
I still don't know which one of you will see this episode. What's the idea like? Was it OSHA? I don't know.
I'm very excited going forward. I actually think it's a combination like it's OSHA and may still intertwine. Okay. And that we're like flowing in between one point of view and the other without making that distinction because there are moments where things are like happy and wonderful in the coven and that like feels like, you know, like, may's point of view.
And then there's things that are like the coven is forcing a decision that feels like OSHA's point of view. The Jedi are wonderful and benevolent. That's like and kind and explains and that's OSHA's point of view. They're actually terrifying.
That's may's point of view. Like I feel like we're dropping in between two because that separation when OSHA leaves with the Jedi hasn't happened yet. So however they're connected in the thread in the force that hasn't been torn apart yet. So we're seeing it as like one unreliable point of view.
Which then goes which I was going to mention earlier, this kind of poem that they sing to each other. We can also in one of the first episodes we see this last one and I don't have it written anywhere. It's too long. But you know which one that starts above so this yellow.
Yeah. Born to do it was the last one or something which at first I took as early just twins and twins gonna make up weird twin things. But some people go to win-win force-dye-ad. I know I read your review.
Could there be a possibility again going to plague us he was trying to create a force-dye-ad. Do you think we already heard the words Barash Bao? Could we hear the word dye-ad or something similar to that? Or do you what brings you to think that maybe may an OSHA or a force-dye-ad or a dye-ad or a familiar one?
When if we hear the word dye-ad you'll be able to hear me screaming from where you are. But the reason I think that is because there's I think it's Palpatine that has the line like powerful light powerful dark power like life itself. They are life itself they were they were created in the force. One is has potential I guess for powerful light the other for powerful dark I think they don't kind of feel at the extreme yet but they sort of have that that separate inclination they are born as two they're two people but they are one and that they are two halves of a soul two halves of a bond.
So it all removed from the oh they're just twins lens like especially once you realize what a role the force played in their creation and we don't even know that except yet that that's what makes it feel like a dye-ad. I'm like this isn't just twins this is this is something deeper than than just twins. Yeah and then I think Alan when he was here last week he kind of reminded us first two episodes it's OSHA having this I don't know why I could flash at these visions of May like going back to the forest and brand that was burning then when during the temple when they got to find Tobin following May of these steps maybe there's a connection there and then connect to the psychology 150 years later and of course it's great and it makes sense. And it's also they say like it's something that hasn't seen in generations 150 years is it generations.
Yeah that is. And maybe that's why Carlos said that I find out how they were created create a way for his diet and the diet I go crazy because they want to start making diets all the way and then they call Ava and Elsa see what happens between them. We'll get to the next couple of alternates. Do you think when they take them to do the testing it's kind of weird they just give me your blood you don't know what's going on but you think soul was lying to OSHA just to get her to admit that she knew what was going on or just lying because they want to take one of them.
I don't know where I fall lying about the results of the test when he asked oh what do you see and she says oh I see a ship and it's a little too good and he thought oh correct and then oh I see something else oh correct was he lying just to get her to admit that she was also lying or I think so because I think he wanted to figure out her reason for lying because he's lying one way or another but is it because she doesn't want to go or is it because somebody told her to lie and I think he could probably sense the hesitation before the lie as opposed to just may probably went in there lied extremely smoothly and walked out and they didn't they couldn't sense that same hesitation because they can sense fear and hesitation to worry and anger and stuff things you probably just want to be your why like what's making her hesitate. I did love that line he had afterward when she's like yeah maybe I want to be a jealous you need to be brave enough to tell to know what you want and then brave enough to tell the truth which again I think she and I come back to buy the jail at some point right the end of this season at least tell them the truth because they're telling the truth right now they don't do that very much and then no and then when he goes to come basically well it's a lot of other kids like you out there where I'm gonna take you if you want I know you're feeling there's like 200,000 other kids with special powers you want to join us you're gonna stay here by yourself oh I want to be a dear like I would say yeah take me with you as much as I love sold that was a dirty trip because he can tell she's lonely he can tell she wants her and he's like oh you know all the kids at the temple did I say there were kids at the temple yeah like you know she's lonely you know she's looking for a friend like dangling that little thing in front of her that's why I say I'm just gonna break our hearts when we find out what really happened yeah we don't know right now what happened let's talk about the fire because since the first episode is may sort of fire that killed everyone killed their mom killed the whole covenant that's why we've been told to believe so far and at the beginning this far in the episode which I love first I sure do you think that may OSHA I keep getting the confused OSHA know about the Jedi before they even got there because she was doodling the we know that she was doing the Jedi symbol but we don't see it too late in the episode think they know about I think they know about the Jedi before I think they know about the Jedi as a concept um I think you just think they're like they have the same fascination as like a knight in shining armor would it's like a concept for her because they get to travel right so yeah I mean as soon as they go there she says oh look they're way they hold their sabers and look at their clothes she knows about the Jedi when I'll be the same he's so medieval nice show up oh can I see you can I try on your helmet are they really dragons taking the place with the right oh oh so we are the unreliable narrator this whole series special this episode um oh may goes nuts oh I'm stopping you from leaving why then I'll kill you that she'll out girl and then it goes to I'm gonna burn everything so when it comes to who really started the fire when I watched the second time she looks may I mean she looks ocean in the room takes a book burns it then it turns the camera turns to ocean inside the room and then we hear the glass crack of that lantern on the fire starts we don't see her throwing it down we don't know what happened outside the door who started the fire was it her I don't think it was her it wasn't her it wasn't her world I think yeah they make a huge point of us not seeing her drop the lantern yeah at first time it's like oh yeah obviously she did we saw it burned the book and then let me watch it again oh no it just broke at some point all that witches started screaming they're all dead no one has burned marks so they didn't die by the fire you know where were they all they did I only saw God there in time no one else was there where was mother coral because we only see any say yeah we don't see mother coral isn't cool I don't know she might have been in that first one but I don't know I'm not 100% sure I want to say she wasn't there but I know nothing but they weren't burned they weren't burned yeah that's that's a thing yeah you want to tell me this whole covenant witches if May went in there with some sort of magic so just grab her like yeah I mean it's the fire understanding the room out in the open they can just push push and just push on wind and just walk around it oh just not there not may over that's it little kid yeah so that's why I'm so excited again taking away all that credit the unwanted criticism all the stupid stuff out there's I love just all these misery are still there I want to next episode go back and see someone else's point of view I hope that we do that I don't know if we're gonna maybe go to whatever killnaka's planet is and then come back and go episodes later I want to know so I was so excited to go to the flashback see what really happened and I have more questions now so do you want to go straight back to it and see someone else's point of view and hopefully get the answers I want to go back to present day for a bit with this new context oh yeah that's true and see how that plays out and then they'll give us a bit more in present day and then we can jump back again and put that new information in the past context yeah so I like I like if they're gonna do back and forth structure I like the back and forth structure all right I mean I'll take it I just want to want to keep going I want more and because we know from the trailers that maybe they shouldn't have in the trailers when killnaka is fighting Torbin and we know Torbin has all these scars and somehow he gets that we are to pay see lots of things and then you need to go that crap or me said and when I watch it a second time in the background when May when OSHA wakes up and so kind of telling her what happened he's in the background out of focus but you can see some scar in his face so we know that fight is coming which maybe happened when modern is they are first two covers his mind with black eyes maybe there's an expanded section there that we haven't seen yet okay okay well maybe still nuts I just want to start the fire because his mind is messed up so let's do a little bit into speculation time now that throw weird theories out there like you said doing this speculating responsibly nothing we're not taking anything seriously we're gonna be wrong and if you guys have the image I give us all your theories for the next couple of episodes so I've been reading I let me rephrase that I haven't been reading and going down a rabbit hole I saw a while back in the first two episodes someone throwing out his mind trick theory and it's how much the Jedi and that's first two episodes go to use the mind trick so often like the art went straight to the name of the and to use the mind trick to find out where OSHA was before the other name of the other down there so I'll use the mind trick on that prisoner to get into clear his mind he used the mind trick again on May to try to find out who the dark side the dark side was here in this one we see when OSHA says oh I want to go with the Jedi mother curls and oh they used the mind trick or they forced a mind or something couldn't be that soul or one of the Jedi's didn't mind trick or something to make OSHA think that May started a fire the destruction that she fell because we know by the end of the rest of the life is looking at the Bunta tree can it be all in her mind and the Jedi just put this I mean we know and I know that the more I repeat things I start to believe them maybe if they happen a different way maybe the Jedi got into her mind that no May started fire she killed everyone she died there's no one going to go with us am I going to die I think the Jedi believe that I don't even need to get into OSHA's mind to to convince her I think it's a it's a Ben Solo Bern's the temple down situation where that kind of suits what they expected was going to happen anyway so they're like okay well she had that darkness in her and she was holding a candle therefore she burned down the temple or the cave yeah but I don't think they've influenced OSHA in that direction because I think they think it's true but yeah that's what I could be wrong maybe maybe they know better yeah I know better um do you think that safe are involved somehow trying to create this conflict between the witches and the Jedi maybe they're the ones that I'm sorry the fire maybe they put that into my mind they told the Jedi somehow that the witches are there and this you think and I don't know if these guys are around at this point maybe I don't know but someone they could deceive as always be manipulating people from behind the scenes getting them to do their bidding so they can come in and either claim May for themselves or something I think so I think there's that bit where they're having that argument in the common area and there's like a noise in the hallway so they say that girls away and you go look at there's nothing in the hallway but the Jedi don't come to later I like the Jedi have no problems just walking in and being like hey we're here for your kids so I don't think it was the Jedi in the hallway so I think it was like a sip in the hallway I think the sip has kind of been lingering there that's why the fire started I think that's when the sift got their hands on May like right away because the cup is dead and OSHA's God she doesn't have anybody and then here comes I think it's two guys master I don't think it's a new guy um like so I think they are instrumental in everything that happened in the game I love that the Jedi like parents going to pick up the kids from a birthday party hey we're here we're not the kids basically we're not the kids we're gonna take them um I think and then if I start putting all my theories together if the sift had something to do with Megan OSHA's bird and no one of them might be more dark cycling if we want let us create this conflict that Jedi can take care of the witches for us because maybe they're too powerful for just two of us and I will take the we'll take a little may we already have this dark side tendencies plus seeing the Jedi kill all of their family I will be so far to join us I have another apprentice checking us more soon a quick break to say so sabersmith and OSHA sort of reminds her reminds them of Omega from bat bash wanting a different life besides what they know wanting to see the galaxy beyond what they have seen OSHA could easily become a rebel similar to what we mentioned before that OSHA wanted to see more of the galaxy very look like yeah um so this goes out to Alan who's the one that pointed this out because we're not spy-screen everyone now wants spy-screen we got that the recipe for spy-screen episode two we see kime here in his spy-screams when he's walking into the apothecary shop can find feeling that notion that he might be the two-th guy which I didn't think at the first time but so in there now maybe he's too scary I think it's because when he get it did he go back it's spy-screen something that's available everywhere before spy-screen it's like Oreos because I don't know anywhere there oh my god I love it sounds spy-screen all right so I think that's it for what we are next episode again we don't know we'll go back to flashback it will go back to kofar and see what happens with calnaca oh lassie do you think calnaca's dying whenever we go back to find him that's where may is going he said below it wookie did I gonna die already I think he's gonna die because I think that's gonna up the tension for whether or not souls gonna die because i think he's a kalaka spy and they were like well he was fine so souls gonna be fine yeah black guys were like oh they might actually kill souls oh man oh man I don't want to talk about it it might be it's I think he's I think he's going to die it was gonna die this episode was the the kofar episode I thought that he was going to die ultimate a point to say that that same planet looks very similar to the planet in the trailer where we see two-th guy fight the other july yes so maybe everyone gets there before calnaca right oh maybe he dies and then everyone gets there and it's too late and that's where very nessar pulls out her lightweight i'm so excited for the lightweight i want to see if you actually use it in a fight she just clearing brush for everyone to go walk to the forest easier i need her to hit someone with it yeah like if she starts using it then it shows over she's gonna take that head off from tothiana it's very nice i mean i'm 17 she was kicking butt i mean she i'm gonna spoil temptation on the forest right now sorry cover your ears for five seconds she's not face to face with barking on row at the end of that book it's like a queen like an icon nothing scares her now nothing so to the eye get that out of here anyway back to the acolyte um so yeah been loving the show almost halfway there not yet i i can always still my favorite show uh these new plus show star wars because i love can always so much and i had a confrontation with anakin at the end just brought me to tears i love a soca because it's all the foist stuff that i love because my favorite thing is always the force and reconnects to everything and i'm loving the acolyte because it gives me a little bit of the high republic a bunch of july and a bunch weird foist stuff so i'm really enjoying this show so far like mentioned beginning i don't want to kind of rank it right now but like got this said something very bad has to happen for this show not to finish up in a high level at least for myself so yeah they'd have to they'd have to really do some bad stuff yeah yeah hopefully not all right so that does it for our talk on the acolyte we'll be back here next week and we're not done today we still get to the attention force uh next week i believe it's law and rommel from the gala t podcast will join us although it will still be out next week but can't wait can't wait for episode four just in two days away three days away you're so fast all right so now we're going to something else and if you guys haven't read temptation of the force come back after you've read it because we have to go into so let's do it our spoiler review of temptation of the force um our sewer mentioned before we started that i was debating we're gonna do a spoiler review and non-spoiler review it's almost impossible to do a non-spoiler review of temptation of the force because as people can see behind you and the little graphic i just put it's called temptation of the force it has able chris and elsar man in the cover looking at them with longing laces so the question in everyone's mind is are they going to admit the law for each other is that was really gonna have two jedi masters give in to temptation and the answer is yes the answer is to they ever the what does he say oh the uh with anyway it's on their well it takes practice it takes practice how do you get good at this it takes practice and then they practice oh man but first test i gratin author for this wrote a great novel i'll just keep having fun with it but just in terms of being the second to last adult novel for the high republic she had a high bar to get to and she crossed it this book is for if you love the high republic in any sense you gotta get this book it's it's with the action he's with the emotions the way it talks about attachments and yay can work and why and the way able chris described it just makes sense because you're marcion road when he's weird stuff sorry i'm gonna call him marcion i know you do marcion but just your overall thoughts of temptation before so we go into it it shocked me to my core i don't but i like i love all the books don't get me wrong but this one hit in a way that i don't think i was expecting it to i was not expecting it was not expecting them to you know really go for it and the attachment the romance the the love all of that i was not expecting as many interpersonal character relationships as we got i was not expecting all of the developments with the nyle it just i mean like you said it's a second to last adult novel so because they sort of treat each age group novel like a series it's the second to last book in the series yeah so it of course it has to hit this heart at this point but i don't think i was expecting it to make the way it did i didn't think anything was gonna hit like i had darkness did and then it's gonna look but yeah i was so i was surprised that they really lean into it because i was the actual temptation of course we got them decoped but are they really gonna go not just with relationship with a j-lai which yeah we had that with anakin and then one that worked with kana and hera but these are two j-lai they're really gonna go into it and it's from the beginning it's yeah we're like ava is full on like i made a mistake leaving elsa behind i didn't make sure he comes back with me i gotta kind of profess my love or whatever and this goes on for the first half of the book almost with both of them not being able to say those words i was very surprised at the beginning i mean to about two days i was going to hit me that ava was the one kind of pushing this because from the darkness it was elsa i gotta get this message out to ava i gotta make sure she's all right it was kind of more from his side that he had that connection with her i mean they always had connection with that kind of romantic connection but this book it was more ava after she realized what she lost tail and she can't really lose elsa just because she was afraid and just worked out she she was the one kind of pushing it but then when i started to finally think about it's like well elsa is kind of he's in the dumps right it's even says when was it last time i did something right so in his mind if he can't get into this right so he cannot make sense it was from ava is not point of you but she was the one more dedicated to trying to make this work was that kind of a surprise for you two or what surprised me most of all was that this was that they hadn't explored this before because my impression thus far had been that they had kind of experimented a bit as paduans and then realized like no we're Jedi Knights we gotta be serious we gotta and they both like mutually decided that but like they never like explored that side of their feelings before with each other and i'm like oh this was like a completely new way of looking at it because then it was then it really put their feelings into perspective because it wasn't a one that got away situation it was a life is short we just lost our best friend like what is life if not like if not exploring attachment and love and all these things and i think the conversations they have in this book about each other the one that elsa has with yoda like this this idea of what love can do for a Jedi what connection can do for a Jedi when explored healthily when explored you know earnestly it's such an important conversation like we talked about you mentioned and you can imagine in the pad me you mentioned ken and here and we can talk about the relationships in terms of like speculation about what he's reached out to be attached but they like do the work yeah this stuff sometimes i forgot to mention for our i could like talk that you mentioned in your review was this healthy connection of these healthy thoughts of attachments against unhealthy thoughts between osha and me which is very evident the way they handle certain actions in that episode and then here in tatia de force again perfect pairing to be this book coming out the same way that this episode came out more or less it's no way that avoie talks about attachment and also first like i mentioned it's not ready for this it's like if i give you this you're gonna break me i think and i love also before we get into the attachment part and surprising me you're like even a great novatize of all people you don't want to think how where you got those stuff but else are starting to be more open with his failings to the dark and why he needs to balance both and he says i think i'm getting closer to understanding why the dark comes with that light what keeps me driving towards the light keeps the shadows right there i need my feelings hope compassion if even they keep me on the edge is why i do my best work like yes we need jedi to be open express those emotions some happy that we started getting that from els are sleep book going to when we finally get both of him and els and avar confessing their love and avar being the first one to say i love you and then repeating it over and over for him to be able to accept it like i'm getting there i might not be there right now i might be able to be more counseling but i'm getting there that's what the first case in chapter 36 as we all have it ingrained in graven back and then 53 is when the other thing happened but it's great i can it took its time it's maybe a 400 page book but there's like three different stories and so forth going but it took its time to explore this it wasn't just that yeah this is how it happens and then we're gonna be like oh that's not how attachment or whatever is supposed to work in jedi no this i took her time to explore this like you mentioned they really went into it it's like they really knew that if they had just jumped the gun and had them get together early and they spend the whole book together then it would have been well this is gonna end badly because because attach it but because they have this whole conversation about it now i don't know now it could still end badly but the i don't remember the last book is called the trials of the jedi or something but um i come on and call it tears of the jedi that's not right um the trials of the jedi like maybe they will be okay maybe they won't because it's star wars but maybe they will i'll be honest what's the point of this book where i thought l sorry i think this is it which because we're used to oh yeah they love each other one of them is you want to die yeah i'm very familiar with that i know i know sorry like every time it always feels like to answer i know this i probably twice already i know i know i know what yeah and we're gonna get to this one of my favorite parts of whole book is when they're fighting aimless but going then to avar and i love when she's i'm just reading something from the book is avar thinking that she had learned that before it's leaving and cost me connected then that case was a way of them sharing that connection and then her thoughts on attachment because like i said before i love the jedi um i'm gonna defend them as much as i can i do believe they can have relationships but it's gonna be a very thin line of how you exploit that to not just say yeah of course jedi have sex and relationships it's gonna be you gotta trade right i guess just to make everyone get everyone on board and i love when avar's talking about attachments as she said i love you so much and it's not a hindrance attachment processing if those are hindrance because they limit a jealous potential they make the galaxy smaller but not with limitless else are just like the force itself is limitless there's no end to it and she says uh it's part of me forever the way the force i like i thought of me forever not in a distance or grief or death could end it but okay this makes sense and it's a way for jedi to kind of love it everywhere it compasses everything just like the force so how can it be wrong if it's part of the force and then you're like this makes a hundred percent sense why did we forget about it i think it's i think it's one of those institutional things that's really gonna shut it down like something's probably gonna go wrong so they're gonna shut it down but i think because they are free to love each other in in an unrestricted way it's not like anakin trying to have love in secret or obiwan having to either choose love or the order but not both because they are free to just love each other and not lose their purpose i think they don't they're not tempted to fall to like attachment or anything like that or like possessiveness because because there's it's limitless there's no hindrance there it's just love yeah because it's something one of the earlier books they kind of make sure that jedi when they're that puddle one is they're allowed to have relationships if i figure things out your teenagers when you're yourself out but once you become a knight you go on separate missions that kind of falls away but then now it's too mass to spend so much time together those feelings are still there i think just she did a tesadira a great job in inflex plain and it for us to say of course it makes sense and for aba who's so connected to all the jedi to have this strong connection to elsar and then elsar goes to yoga for all people don't see how to go permission to go have a girlfriend the other way you think but i love elsar again from jonah saying talking about love but if you find the answer for yourself and it opens the force to you more widely brings you closer to the light then wrong you cannot be it's kind of getting that blessing like you can go you can take my daughter basically basically yeah so again he was in a couple of things in this book i love getting that little little thing from him yeah all right so if we talk about elsar and aba you're not talking about stellongius even though he wasn't there he was there you know it was every decision that they made we had to think of what will stay and do what will stay and say who elsar is just doing stellong's job being the bureaucrat who was asked to join the jedi council and also love cus again putting all the weight of the world in shoulder so i'm to do what whatever stellong will do i love when one of the masters stellong is you're not taking stellong's seat this is your seat so don't really know that baggage to wait so kind of again take it that pressure off from him and then elsar goes and buys three place three bones cus says how you should order and i can't do it yeah i don't have it and i'm gonna water down the alcohol cus then what stellong will do and why are you breaking our heart so much it's it's such a beautiful thing i think because as they're talking about how to feel this attachment connection love between each other it's also the two of them kind of reconciling how to deal with the loss of stellong in a healthy way like how to take on the parts of him that should stay with them and kind of let the grief of it pass you know what i mean it's like it's a whole book on jedi processing their emotions in a healthy way very healthy i mean bina new diadem for aba with three gems and then yeah elsar was the brains and the brown and you i mean stellong was the the brains and the brown and your the heart elsar is like how can i be the heart you bring us all together so you gotta you're the one that needs to know this is making me emotional so it's so beautifully done yeah so which makes me think after phase three ends we know they're gonna be more stories in the Harry party there's no way they're gonna show this down we're gonna get that book hopefully right of the three of them that younger group we did we did give you a whole three of you i truly they must follow once at night and then we're in stell and a by become masters we need something with them we all want to see them together they're not gonna they're not gonna pass that opportunity we're gonna get something i agree that's the one sad thing i think about base one so we didn't really get on a time of the three of them together so i think that's coming yeah that's a great day about novels and you can go back and do it because you have to worry about them getting old yeah like how old are they now like mid 30s 40s i don't know things they're like 20 years of stories that we can go back that have nothing to do with it now and freaking mark in row which we all love anyway with his shirtless tattoo path of his chest i love this mark in row who's more i'm gonna do my own testing my own experiments and i'm gonna go hunting for this blight yeah yeah gira saros i don't need to know where you are you don't need to know where i am but what's your daughter because i think she's often all good and sure they hello because i don't care so i love this mark in row doing his own kind of investigation and being crazy just throwing two caskets into the blight pushing people to see what really happened there's still nuts and we're loving for it nuts and i don't know who man he listen i was kind of worried that he was gonna turn into a very like one note yeah like one note bad guy of like domination and whatever but the minute he kind of became in charge it's like he's like wait a minute that's not what i wanted i do not want to run an entire sovereign state like this is not what at all what i wanted and the fact that he's become unpredictable and reclusive and he's experimenting and he's like learning about the nameless and the blight and he's seeing visions of mardah oh man yeah which wow what a way to incorporate mardah into phase three and he's like and you don't even know why she's really haunting him you don't know she like approves or disapproves of his methods like at least i was at super i don't think we're supposed to be clear on that but it's just it's such an interesting way to take your villain it's to not be like well good i've achieved this power now i want this power and like higher and higher and higher and higher like no he is backing it up and like pulling away there wasn't an eye of darkness i think maybe the fight is so ongoing when gira's like no like you you gotta take care of these people you gotta go and then blah blah blah blah blah blah no i don't want this you want this oh well i go to go and go i'm gonna do my own stuff i'm just doing tests on gira to tell if i can talk about going from a healthy relationship to a healthy one oh yeah that was a one-day complete like i do not mean like everyone else are in the healthy relationship here in america but i know they're not communicating they're hiding from each other and yeah yeah yeah nanny between as a messenger it's not working out it's just i'll be there eventually i'll go to coars and eventually i tell them how i'm gonna be the savior but yeah he's trying to figure out how this black work which came out of nowhere at the beginning in the fighty storm which what else can we throw the jedi and the republic got the now mark and row uh nameless and all this weird blight right and i just love how we start to learn more about it how it affects the nameless uh he's holding the road of power so it doesn't affect him for some reason so how is that black connected to the nameless planet because then when buregas kind of putting all the force into it trying to understand it he feels his homesick the blood is homesick is it because they took the nameless from their home planet 100 years ago what the hell is going on and is that going to be it is the solution is going to be not some big bombastic space battle that's kind of healing the damage that was done and that's how you make the galaxy better i don't know i'm trying to figure out because we have when just very briefly because the republican de jedi were able with help from avon staros avon son beld i should say at this point how to go back and forth and with silent graph let's uh silent graph and kerosene take another unhealthy relationship i love their own they're great but they're kidnapping each other yeah we gotta talk it out yeah one was fine on them he i had to marry him for keeping quiet but then you're gonna come with me unhealthy but it's a great relationship so they're able to go back and forth i forgot where oh when marjorie and kind of okay that's why i just changed the course because i have the original path that took on my chest when i was a child because this is marisantecosorino one for kid right didn't marisantec at some point give her ness ravishon of an aririal path this is the same one has to be right and this hasn't been explored i think no saying it was back in uh i really shallow i think it was yeah we didn't really talk about it midnichor i'm like okay my shelf i'm not just like definitely we didn't really talk about it midnichorizin but i think it came up a little bit and to find the storm i think she's seeing mara too yeah oh she's i don't maybe i'm just remembering that i think the bernesser can also see marda yeah i wonder if them both seeing marda and then both having this original path and then both bumping into each other in this book is setting up some sort of yeah martian conflict i'll say when bernessera squared up to marcan row i was i tweeted this out out of context that seeing an alien when rippley is going to stay away from her you bitch that was me to marcan row stay i know where nesser is alive we just saw in the agalite stay away from her don't torture she needs to be fine but i love that like you said she didn't back down she's like you're here i know the name that's is there because i'm feeling the effects but i'm gonna help you now i'm gonna take you down and he's like little kid to get out of my way he's so funny in that any other villain in this franchise would seem like a threat like a kid or a kid or whatever and they would immediately lose focus and just go like this is like i don't have time for you please just move he's trying to he has a nameless he's hunting a dren gear he has part of the bladings please get out of my way i'm running experiment i don't have time to deal with you i got to my zor you're gonna throw my results off i gotta go do my my thing and he's like no i'm gonna get to hello dale skywalker dale thanks for being here hopefully you don't get spoiled for potentially force but um just jumping to the end of the boat for kind of finishing up a little bit with markey on it when he finally goes to the uh to coruscant so the heart of the republic gira staros there lina so the chancellor's there and mike and rosjos sub is i think one thing to say to you i'm your only hope i like what else that scene was chilling this man coming out dressed in white like did i make that up he's wearing white right probably i'm gonna make sure i'm in a better jacket it's like it's like fever imagination but i don't think it is um he's like showing up he's got these flowers he's got these lights papers and he's like oh well i'm your only hope i'm like that is chilling yeah because it's not an invasion it's like a i guess it's kind of an invasion but it's like if you want to survive i've unleashed the blight i brought these flowers like you have to listen to me now it's like so scary i love because he went to last time he addressed the galaxy or the republic was this galaxy's mind when he brought down starlight beacon to know i'm your only hope because i spread the seeds through the drink gear of this blight i got some blight here in my hand oh i'm gonna drop it oh you can come with me because i have the role of power and everything the nameless like you say not a one note villain you know not a little out there i love how he keeps changing i'm trying to make sure i wasn't like making up his costume that's fine if he's in war if he wasn't oh it's uh black and white is what he's wearing okay i'm not totally insane i was white in his clothing yeah all right i mean you gotta start wrapping up the show even though i was like half of my nose but real quick one of my favorite scenes was towards the anchor so he had already like um i got to talk about him um don't tell me because i have it somewhere oh porter porter angle buriaga um bell i kind of face the the nameless in a boot during the fight with vs and all that so it's a great scene when then you jump on a bunch of chapters it's that ending when you do that same plan with mark and roan by nest on one end and then you have elsar buriaga and able chris facing off against an nameless and how they're able to accept their fears confront them fears to be able to kind of hold off the nameless a little bit and then buriaga who's again connected through emotions and empathy to all the data and able also taking all of elsars emotions and fears to give him a chance to fight the nameless that whole scene the way that tessa roan it broke me was great and i was so afraid for elsar that this is it for him he'll be able to strike the blow but i think it's not going to make it i was so afraid especially because it's still kind of throwing his lightsaber it's kind of blind often to hit something he's pulling a boy down and he has to be picked up it's i think it's going to die but i love that scene so much because it brought that finally there's a way for the guy to fight this creature but it takes also so much out of them so it's not something that can just replicate so easily it's you know just making you think of the timing the power of one power to power many so there it's so there it's so very powerful that's how you defeat the nameless it's the power of many if you're facing your fears alone it's it's not doable if you're facing your fears with your friends with your loved ones with your support system suddenly it doesn't seem so bad and see that's in here we've talked about here with how are they going to defeat the now we're gonna defeat mark and roan we're still gonna be one jedi killing the show me that power of friendship is like all the likes to say and the power of many here is that we're going to defeat the nameless and then hopefully no we just gotta take them back where we're left with the nameless i came back to the the name of the weird concept if the solution to a stark war series is like the solution was friendship and kindness who would have known like i mean i'm here for it yeah i mean it makes sense that again sometimes we joke that do they even know i don't know it makes sense what you start to think about it that temptation before is and then this episode come out so quickly so close to each other and i'm just it's not a hypothesis whatever no there's connection different types of attachments some works i mean healthy unhealthy power of many the power of many help defeat the nameless maybe that's what we need there you go we figured it out i also love again more kind of action really the drink here and the nameless fighting how they still affect each other it's cool seeing and the way that reindeer was fighting the nameless and affecting it gave a i mean but next a little bit of a reprieve to then see what's going on so and then just that reindeer also come on we're all friends yeah i love reindeer we didn't get a lot of chance to talk about buriaga and bale or the angel general vias after beef going for 150 years they're still at it and then vias are like oh no i know where bahrash is don't kill me she's alive i can tell you i don't know how that just going to brian love how much buriaga we got in this book you straight stuff in the background thank you v2 yeah i love that first scene we're there with the elia anne in that ohne i think was the planet and he starts to connect with the with his with that planet with the creature with the environment the insects are women that is symbiotic relationship that then goes to well that's what and why the elia anne couldn't leave the planet because the blight was coming in we can't leave if we live with the eye how then that connects to the nameless being taken away from the planet everyone's suffering everyone's dying maybe they should go back it's like it's not worth right everything rhymes everything connects they're telling us right there it's right on the page it's all right i'm trying to see it's so good yeah right but i love again that's i i'm glad i know that she was brought into high repolitions done some great jobs before but this is my favorite one of her but one of my favorite high repolibuk how she kind of hit all these different bits of different um what are different bits are we going on and kind of expanded of those notions just a little chapter at the beginning just buriaga can open itself up to the force to fill everything this planet that way she wrote i can't even explain it because i'm reading it's so interesting so great simple reyaga connect with all these creatures out there you may be happy in a book that can be solved okay no just we always joke about us that probably we're gonna be crying and suffering there's also these little chapters and little moments that kind of bring that smile and that hope because this star was assembled whole it's still there just little people the the alien disconnecting to everyone so i i like chapters like that it's the first book that i've really felt connected to buriaga because i like it because like i like wookiees because they're cute but this is the first time i really felt like connected to him as a character yeah it was great especially bringing him back the way we found him in tells of light and life to giving something more to do it's always kind of pulling bell around being the one to kind of keep bell without going nuts bell you're gonna chill out a lot that he took it's kind of first stage here for half of the book uh they'll know we don't have any spoilers for the acrylate episode four i cannot hear there's spoilers out there haven't seen it i don't realize spoilers so you can watch that begin the beginning of our talk today you start our episode three we didn't speculate who knows maybe we hit that maybe we were exactly right but exactly right probably not but maybe uh so any final thoughts on temptation of the force are sweet or we head out i love the highrope i'm not ready to say hi yeah i i know i want to i want to get there because i want to see how it ends and that's why i think that we're gonna keep getting more stories yeah like you said like the phases will be over but the story is far from it but great book great job at desegranton we love this i want everyone to get through it so we can have more open discussions about everything when people are talking about avar and elsar and how do you get comfortable with it with practice and we'll leave it there go read chapter 53 and first six it's a great cover feel not
