I said I'm music going, I'll give you one second, it's just going on in the background Alright, there we go, so yeah, I agree with you Brennan, it seems to be more familiar with the Alvee and Delivee, Lidor and Tongue, even though the trailer did show a couple of action-packed scenes but yeah, it's gonna be a little bit lighter, we hope, fun adventure out there, the ambling style, the gunis, eti, strenuous things, all that vagueras, bunch of kids going on an adventure I'm gonna be talking about Skeleton Crew in a couple of minutes, before we get to that real quick, my finish reading the Glass of East, May's Windu, the Glass of East, I'll have my written review for that in the coming weeks I believe that Embargo breaks on October 1st, so that's about two, it's a way and a week and a half away, and then the book comes out October 15th, so we'll be talking about that later in the show, there he is, just in terms of stretching this intro a little bit, but I think, how are you doing, thanks for joining us?
Which are barber and high-market? Yeah, it's a long story, so I got super involved doing some very needed deep cleanings and some always traveling, I do the professional touch-ups to my apartment, and today I was like nope, I'm gonna wake up learning early and do intense cleaning and taking out a lot of stuff that was laying around and I found the shirt, I was like oh, I'm gonna wear it, and I got super involved in that, so when you texted me, I had to, I was sweating, I was like, okay, I texted you, I'll be like a minute late, so Yeah, just in time, just the little things out there that were talking about, I finished the glass of ASO, I have my review after the Embargo drops that will come out October 15th, so still three weeks away And then after that, actually next week, the High Republic comes back with tears of the Nameless, from Saturday night on Tuesday by Jewish man Yeah, I think it was in my temptation to force a review that we did, this week I came to that realization that we have a new High Republic book right now, so I'm super excited Like, way more than I've been for a while, so So I was trying to check something out, you know what, I'm on the opposite end, I'm not excited because these are some of my favorite characters out there, they're gonna be in this book, but I don't know, I've been reading for too long, I think I need a break, so I'm not like, oh I created it, I can't wait for it to sit around my review up, I'm taking it easy, I'm taking a page from you, I'm taking it easy It's therapy time because I've been championing this since 2021, I think, and that's exactly the reason why I'm not reading every Star Wars book because the brain, I was actually talking to someone else about this this week, one of my cousins, the brain out is real, you may love Star Wars more than anything, reading a book takes a toll on you, you're there for a while, so reading like every book, I'm doing this thing where I'll read a High Republic book and then read something else, and that's been working out for me And again, I, all props and all my thank you to the people that have been in Random House, Random House, well that sends me those books, because I wasn't gonna read Namay's window book, it was on my, oh I gotta get this as soon as it comes out, so it was something that, an extra came in, I welcome one, I'm gonna give, if you send me books, I'll do my best, I'll give you a review as soon as I can, but I need my time, because I was listening to the plague, it was novel at the same time, we're listening to it, so it's kind of two books going, I need a break, I need a break, so I completely feel you, I was there when I had the NetGalley account and I was getting review copies left and right, and I was awesome, and I got so excited, and I was so excited, and I was so excited, and I was so excited, and I was so excited, and I was so excited, and so I was so tired, so that's why I stopped. Yeah, it takes a time, now I, not that I didn't understand before, but when people say there's so many high republic, how can I get, I'm like, just a read, I don't know, but the middle grade, you're still a lot, I'm like, I love this world, I also wanted to answer, I can see how the story ends, but, yeah, so, and basically we have, there's only Nameless this week, into the light April 1st of next year, and then try also DJ that I defined on novel June 17th, so basically we're 10 months away, and we're done. Okay, so the next two books are YA, then.
Yes, and then the last one will be, yeah, so I'm gonna give you a little bit of a break, so I'm gonna give you a little bit of a break, so I'm gonna give you a little bit of a break, so I'm gonna give you a little bit of a bit of an whole thing. And I think in between, into the light and also DJ that is the middle grade. Oh yeah, yeah. Bailey and Val, I believe, by just Inner Island, I think that's in May, April May, and then June, finishes up.
Can't really, there's more books left. Yeah, right. There's still not to go, I think, but also needs to be there. Yeah.
So the reason I'm excited we did the final storm last week and this week we did Temptation of the Forest. I was getting back in that High Republic, Mike said I was, like, what's gonna happen now? And I was thinking like, yes, the whole blight thing to like a ranch into him because we're like, where's this? going.
Yeah, I know. But I honestly still believe that the resolution to that will be like extremely tied to a mark on the downfall and be the resolution of the name list. So I kind of see it like I think the first chapters of that last book will need to go a lot of heavy lifting. Sure.
Let's see what happens in the YA and specifically the George man's YA that's coming out. Maybe a few things get resolved there. But we'll see exciting times ahead. Yeah, I was very I'm sorry we went into a high republican for a while here but it's the best corner of Star Wars.
Yeah, I was so surprised when they threw in the blight in there's like there's so much already that the gender. There's more book left. Yeah, but you got the name list. I got the name.
Like I'm working roles and now you have the blights like how much more are we trying to jump back? So I was a little bit afraid. Like you said, this last three books, they got to finish up that storyline very quickly. We're not very succinct and not complete.
We just throw something out there. I think 100% agree that the blight and the name list are connected somehow. So they would be nameless. Hopefully resolve itself.
Can I throw one question at you? It's so hyper-apublic. Really. The authors and Michael Siegelin have said like hey, this is not the end.
There will be more of these characters in some other initiative. I took that and probably everyone took it as like there will be other books and they will show up elsewhere. Could you see a world where they go like nah, phase three is not the end. Here you go, phase four and five.
No. No? No? I don't know if it's the Rey movie episode 10 or is it something still a continuation of it.
I think the phase three and this whole phase ends with whatever happens with Mark and Row and that ends now. I think there's a continuation of those characters in that time period. I think that's what we call something else. I agree.
Like the project luminance I think will be the whole Nile conflict. The ending of that initiative will be the end of that story. What I'm saying is what if they extend it? What if they were like, hey, we're having so much fun working together.
You guys are clearly loving it. We didn't know how are you going to receive it when we announced that there were only three faces. We're extending it. We think we have more story to tell to extend it a little bit more.
That's my thought. Because I'll let you talk now. But the way I say that the characters will continue, I see more offshoots like maybe other authors coming in and doing an outside man book and maybe the same woman as writers doing other things but not in the same collaboration. You know what?
I think maybe not the hybrid public but maybe they found out that this works. Getting a group of five to now like eight different authors together, fleshing out a story that's going to expand for years and then do that again in a different time period or a different setting. I think that might be the future instead of continuing in the high republic sense. But yeah, I think offshoots, that's 100%.
We're going to get those with probably new authors and just the same ones. We need a young Elsore Avar and Stenjos novel. That's the first one that they announced afterwards. Yeah, that would make a lot of sense.
I would expect a lot of selling GOs content because of course these are fan favorite. I was actually at Galaxy's, not Galaxy's, I wasn't Disney Springs. And right as I walked into the store, they were showing the selling GOs like someone and they turned it on and they were passing it around a bunch of people. I was like, oh my god, that's the character from the book.
I remember when we have topics to talk about people. When the Harry party was an Australian comedian and we got all the concept that they showed that those first few kind of videos. And these have to be something else than just books. They don't usually, I don't know where to comic books or there's obviously a bunch of parts there.
I said, there has to be something else that they're planning because there's so much other putting into it in terms of concept, or a commercial with all these characters and things out there that I'm glad it went to our selling, Stenjos lightsaber at Galaxy's age or this experience. Like, that's a character from the book. That's big time. I mean, and to that point, it's contrary to maybe all the criticism look as some guys.
This is a huge one for them. Like, even if the acolyte wasn't, they, viewer wise, I mean, I love it. They really supported this initiative. Like, fine, maybe Catherine Kennedy has no idea who they were quizzes, but like, they really supported it.
And it's in everything I've been playing out loss. There's a high republic relationship. I'm still very early on in the game, but maybe there's another Star Wars Jedi survivor thing that was very high republic driven, the acolyte. So, you're on the adventure.
That's a high public TV show, even though it's for little kids, there is one out there. And it came from three years ago that they started this bunch of people watching on lightsaber in the six rings. Like, I think in that sense, it has paid off for them and it has given them like possibilities to branch to it. And people that maybe don't know, Stenjos, they see that lightsaber, which you have, this is one of the best lightsaber out there.
People are going to buy it even if they don't know who he is. Sorry if you guys are ready. I'm not ready. Let's talk Star Wars.
Star Wars news. Star Wars news news. All right. So the first official Star Wars news.
By the way, you have like a great 15 minute just stand alone clip that you can put it on. I know. I'll make a separate. The state of the high republic.
There we go. We got two shows in one today. And I got like two hours of the re-saupt of the re-saupt of the one get through. So, Skeleton crew were hearing more.
There was a new image. That's how they're so cool. Is this concept? I know this is not, I'm sorry.
It's a little bit dark. But we got new images and a new article thanks to Entertainment Weekly. This came out about three or four days ago of Jut-Law as our friend, Jot Nanawood, our favorite pirate Jedi out there. And then a main look at what we think are the main villains.
It's this group of space fires out there. We got names for all of them. We got names for all of them. Vayne, we knew already.
Gunther played by Jaleo White. Brutus, which is a wolf man. Pax and Chalt or Chalt. I don't know.
What do you want to say that space main? Just real quick those images. You saw their Jut-Law. All the kids behind you had the overcoat, the blaster, or the flint talk.
It's a very pirate look. And the pirates out there. Initial thoughts, I'm digging the vibes. I'm liking everything that I'm seeing.
Yeah, like the shot of him and the kids behind him had the emblem look. He kind of looked like a character from Hook. The way he's dressed. So, I dig it.
It looks cool. I'm actually pretty excited for the show. I'm still obsessed with that little dude. Neil.
Not Max Ryo. You look good. I forgot. It's next.
No, I think it's Neil. I think it's Neil. Neil. Neil.
Yeah, you're right. You're right. Brandon had put a comment before you came in. He was about after Acolyte.
Can I have been a little bit more of a serious stone? That he's ready for something like in Seattle, like you said. Getting high for it. It looks cool.
I just want to have fun. Something will talk about in a couple of minutes. But yeah, email, yes, I'm all into it. Yeah, this looks like an adventure for the entire family.
Like, everyone's looks goofy. Yeah, they look cool, but look at them. They look goofy. And it's a bunch of kids going on an adventure.
I really hope this is a hit. I really do. One thing I know a lot of people and some of them are disabled. So I really angry already down with these little Star Wars and the way Lukas is at the regarding to the Aqualites and saying this is why people want to work in Star Wars.
I just want to work with them because they don't feel supported by the higher ups. And I understand that part, but it's a little one I have to make up video in that article, talking about working with aliens and with droids and how that brings this imagination into it. And he's feeling as a kid and acting against an alien or a droid that's being puppeteered and animat 20 by 5 people off screen at the same time, acting and that kind of pumps him off to work with those type of creatures and characters that I think even though Star Wars fandom as a whole sucks most times, there's a lot of people that don't care. I'm going to say this is Star Wars.
I've loved these things. I was a child or young. I want to work in there if I have the opportunity. I like seeing, I can do not this great actor.
They're being pumped for being in this show. It doesn't feel like a paycheck. Like people would say, he's excited. We don't get excited.
Let me put it this way. Whoever is listening. Think about that Star Wars story you want, let's say Katherine Colce and say, hey, I heard about that story. You want to tell?
Come over here and tell it. Will you really be like, nah, because I'm afraid, if I don't get to do three seasons, nah, nah, nah. Come on, Star Wars is a lot of people's dreams. I know it sucks.
I'm not defending them. We had a whole conversation on this. I do not want to rehash. Go look for it.
But yeah, it still Star Wars. We got a little bit of, I don't know if this is an audition. I would say to that's in upset since I was scaled up on crew will tell detail of four children who discover a secret and then get into a series of adventures that they attempt to find a way back to the home planet. Basically knew that there were laws out there.
The secret that they discover in just since the spaceship that they steal somehow gets in belongs to the pirates. But then Christopher Ford and John Watts the creators behind this they have a couple of quotes out there and someone they have to do with working with Villoni and others working this time period. And Christopher Ford says the empire is gone and so we're playing with a part of the galaxy that has a research of piracy and it takes place in the same time frame as Mandalorian the book of Boba and Asoka which we kind of knew already I thought from people that this is between Mandalorian season one more or less. But if you bring book of Boba and Asoka it's a little bit further down but I think just mainly a general comment about this is after they follow the death star or follow the empire before the first order that's those five years afterwards.
But yeah we're gonna get into that lawlessness of Star Wars with the pirates and that's exciting. Yeah no I can't say I'm excited anymore like I am like I wanted to just I want to see what it is. So John Watts has a different type of comment with some people as always and we kind of talked about this when we talk about this set of Star Wars like you mentioned about weeks ago about Villoni and his involvement in Star Wars said what's great about working at Lucasfilm is that they'll let you know if you're going outside of the boundaries. They feel on his own goalkeeper.
We will come up with ideas of things that we like and then he'll be like actually maybe is this or oh we've already did something like that somewhere else. He also went out to say so he gets that thing of I want to make a whole new kind of Jedi and then someone being like okay hold on a lot of people have thought about this let's do this the right way. I'm excited about these comments. I've said I'm not the biggest Villoni family comes to storytelling but I think that he's the law keeper in terms of if you want to make Star Wars away just look at my Star Wars this kind of the guidelines and he knows the whole history of it so I think that position he's now works perfectly for his strengths.
Some people have taken these comments to me. Villoni shouldn't be in charge of everything this just means Mora Soka blah blah blah and I want to get into the different kind of Jedi I mean but when we hear that Villoni's involved in hey we've already done that we're gonna do that somewhere else let's kind of take this direction instead. Is that what you get? I don't say excited again but does that make sense or do you think Villoni maybe needs to win all the people to make those type of decisions or I don't know I don't even want to ask him.
I don't feel negative negatively about this. I honestly get it like oh who is he to be the one like he's the chief creative officer like that's what he has like that's his job. I don't mind Star Wars sticking to one singular vision but it's not really a vision. I think it's like if everything is gonna exist in the same universe it has to be able to coexist like a story can't be saying this thing and then we have another story saying this other thing and just to use an example we we can't have a story about Grey Jedi and I'm kind of tying this to the other conversation like oh this good guy that looks edgy but he's lightning because it's cool but he's a good guy so he'll because we know that's not what a Star Wars has a story.
So we can't have that story and then have another story let's say in a movie let's say this is a TV show and the movie is saying the opposite like that's not how the force works like that's when we'll get into actual contradictions and I honestly don't mind plot contradictions like maybe we have a scene on a book and then it plays out differently in the in a TV show like that's totally fine like I think that's fine but like if we get into thematic differences like let's say this author says this thing about the force and this other author says this other thing that directly clash like I don't know that's why I don't mind having someone like overseeing this and being like because I don't think he's giving them plot points but I do think like thematically he's the one that's being like hey I think there's interpretation of this character like let's talk about it because I'm not sure as with how it's um so yeah I mean to me this makes perfect sense like you say it's a chief creative officer this is why they hired him for the past was it been now 10 years of Star Wars stories or at least we passed eight people have been blaming Kathleen Kenney for not having a singular vision and this is not her job she needs to hire someone to do this type of creative decisions they hired the one person that's a perfect fit for the job and now because like I just mentioned I go hate in Filonia I'm in the Mandalorian it's what's what's hip now what people up doing then every time his name comes up it's oh everything he does sucks and all he wants to do is that okay this is his job he's there to tell people we've already done that uh maybe let's go this direction we're already planning to do something similar on this corner of the world why don't you go this way it's just still your story and that's why like he's like it's like oh keep on making sure nothing wrong passes but I would say that I so want to come and I agree with that it's don't stretch him too thin if he's doing his assoka TV show because he has a movie to do because he's helping with them on the Lorraine Grogumui because he's working with Christopher Ford and John was then maybe he's spread too thin and maybe figure out what your priority story he's working with everyone but that's at least what Captain Kennedy has it like he sits down with everyone and is like okay what what story are you telling oh and does this make sense in the long term universe so like I think that's his job first and foremost I honestly think that's his biggest responsibility uh even before I saw him because he's a chief creative officer like that's I think that's the most important job that he has and Lucas will not direct there and write around his own car and I think and again this is me just spitballing after Ahsoka comes out and whatever movie he directs I think that's it for him in that sense. Oh I'm not sure about that. Well at least for a while and then everything or most of it should be this creative officer position I think. Anyway let's move away from that we'll figure out what that comes out but that comment about we're trying to make a new kind of Jedi then I'm just at first I took it just a throwaway comment and something oh yeah we're trying to make a new Jedi and he says oh maybe let's do something else but a lot of some people took it as well are we seeing again this pirate Jedi out there a new type of Jedi again I'm not going to great Jedi because no please.
That's where I went. I really hope not. Because he did say something like this is something that a lot of people have thought about right? Yeah a lot of people have thought about this let's do this the right way.
Yeah I kind of think that's where it's going and hey maybe I'm completely wrong maybe it's like oh no this is the first I don't know. Maybe he goes with hey I have this idea for a great Jedi whatever and he said well actually we got the wait seekers which is way cooler and still fits the purpose. It's not the same thing. I know but it's when I mean it's a Jedi that went on to do something else.
Yeah it follows the force but it's not a Jedi so let's do that. Maybe they are so humor me for a second maybe they are doing the great Jedi and maybe they are gonna get into like that's not a thing and that's that will make me happy. That's how big great just to finally put him into it. Stop all the conversations about great Jedi.
Or maybe he's looking for a way to make it make sense in Star Wars. How do we have a good guy but he's edgy. We'll see. We'll see.
It's like quite good. I mean there's some edgy guys in the high republic. Dude quite good. Look like Jesus he's not edgy.
Dude he's like what do people say the renegade Jedi or something like that? What's that thing? Oh uh uh uh renegade. There's something the maverick Jedi.
He's just like there with his- like the John McCain of uh he just tells you all that once in a while. I don't want to do that. Oh he's such a maverick. He brought this kid from that desert planet.
Well anyway that followed with all this spy rat talk. I don't know where this came from. I mean I know where it came from. I don't know where it came from.
I don't know where it came from. I don't know if people make it such a big deal out of it. According to a website I've never heard of it. Production weekly that would sell the some coal sheets or something about new movies or new tv shows that are looking for actors, directors or whatever and there was something called Star Wars spy rats.
So people took this out. Oh there's a new show in the development look at this film is called Star Wars spy rat. Someone else said production weekly said he's starting to law nowhere does it say that you'd law study on this? No one does he say that this being approved already?
People already saying oh how did you cancel the acolyte because of low view show and you're already giving you low sound shows like oh my goodness like we said before the fandom is the worst at point. I wouldn't mind that show about Star Wars pirates after all that talking about it. Are you not law? No like I'm not.
I first thought this makes sense. That's an animated show. It makes that was a animated show. Makes more sense.
But if you bring jute law let's say he knocks it on the park. He gets his own show and even if you put him in the Mandalorian Grogo movie you imagine marketing that movie yeah you get mando you get grogo plus you get jute law. Everyone's gonna go to a movie even if they don't know what Star Wars is. But anyway Star Wars pirates do you know anything about production weekly?
Someone told me they're usually a 50-50 in terms of getting things correct. Maybe I had heard of them I just don't remember anything about them. Yeah there's honestly nothing I can say about this like yeah is there a Star Wars pirate other? Maybe.
I forgot to put my thing down there so yeah it's a true article where now it's Star Wars pirates we're talking about. I mean this is gonna make me angry but there's like things in development all the time that never pan out because like and they don't announce it. So I can't wait for this to be nothing just a failed project that never got developed and people will be like oh they cancel Star Wars pirates. Remember back in 2024 when the pirates were the big things.
What's that? Kennedy announced? She was out there I remember seeing her and they scrubbed the internet of all her videos. Just another unannounced project that we'll get canceled and people will be angry about the thing that was never announced.
Yeah and if it's announced in celebration then we'll see how it goes. Yeah I took this as nothing I wouldn't mind it but I don't know if you'll get signed. By the way another assign. As celebration gets nearer I'm getting so confused about what's gonna happen there.
Like there's not a lot of movement going on with the things like announced in the last celebration and they're gonna be like hey that's still happening. Two years ago? Two years ago? It's still in development.
That rainbow is great. We're gonna have it sooner or later. But yeah I know that like tickets are on sale before buying airplane tickets and getting the hotels already. I'm like I get it because it's our celebration but there's nothing right now.
I mean they're gonna announce things like me. Obviously well they'll wait. We can have next year. Yeah and I mean like they're gonna announce things there that we don't know about.
So but like for me it's gonna be super weird that if we get there and all the three movies are still in development like the other young girl which is one that wasn't announced is the one that's gonna be ready almost like this. Yeah I really hope that by that time maybe they say really zooms in from set. I'm like hey we're on set working and jamboye and ask her. No fly them in.
The only way they'll get away with being like their zone development if it's if jamboye and oscar is like show up on stage. I still don't see how they don't show up. I agree but I think that would be like the only way to save them from a riot if they are like hey we're still happening we're just on the wind. But it'd be so cool like you say just daisy really.
Yeah I mean with them I say hi a friend of mine wants to say something jamboye I just pops out. If jamboye everything is forgotten. Like jamboye walks out like people are gonna die and like people will faint. I mean I afraid they've always delivered in celebration so we'll see.
It's always fun. You know what else is fun? Lando. Lando should be fun.
So during an interview with the Wall Street Journal Donald Glover was talking about his aspiration for the character of Lando Calrissian and he was saying he said I just wanted to be fun. As I start with myself I think it's important that it needs to be fun. It's very hard to have fun right now. Star Wars I love it but sometimes it can be super serious.
Anything that has to do with Skywalker is like so serious Lando I think the best part about him is that he's a scandrel and people can relate to that. It's probably like man this war is so like this war is like what I need money which I think people can relate to. I just wanted to be fun. And we just talked about this before we went from the series give us more lighthearted and fun stuff and Lando is a perfect character for this.
So I agree with we don't know Glover. I mean me too but like I don't agree that Star Wars is super serious like it is but it's not. Yes we'll have a family drama going on and at the same time we'll have fart jokes with. It's gonna live in fact but I agree I mean Lando is as a character it's a fun character out there.
Yeah. And for the most part about the guy's hando which is very serious. I actually had a serious one which is also some fun thrown into it. So we're always talking about how we love all the silliness and weirdness in Star Wars.
I keep seeing that. That's okay was fun and Lando was pretty fun. Lando was great. I know people headed that was a plus zero fifteen episode.
I love it. That's a Jack Black episode right? Yeah. Come on!
Listen to him. Listen to him was there and it's a great neo kind of droid spy episode. So I love it. I like it.
I like it. I like it. I like it. At the end between Volcaten and X-Wolv just knocking the hell out of each other.
I like Lando season three more than more people. I like Lando season three more than season one. I'll see you then. All right.
I don't I haven't watched season one in a while. So some great something. Season three was good. People just wanted something else.
You want to put all that stuff without the helmet which unfortunately we're not even going to get too much anymore. He doesn't care why I should eat. All right. Let's we have another sidebar for Star Wars.
That's it. All right. That was my worst this week. So let's go to that part of the show.
We went. We talked about something that's not Star Wars in a world between five dogs. All right. All day before we get into the rinse of power because that's going to be your next 30 minutes at least.
Did you get a chance to have you watch any of the Agatha all along? No, no, no, no, no. I knew you were going to do this. I knew you were going to do this.
I saw the rundown for the episode and I read it twice because he did not put Agatha in here. Interesting. And I was like, he's going to bring it up and I'm going to get upset because no, I have not watched it. How many episodes?
I had to watch any good. Oh, okay. How many episodes are we good? I believe there's two episodes.
Okay. No, I have a friend of mine. Washington. She's a massive fan of all the supporting actors like massive fan of Ari Plassa.
And I forget the other ones name, but she's like a broad way started. She's a massive fan of them. So she watched it. She's like, maybe hold off like until we get like four episodes and then watch it.
I was like, okay, fine. Yeah, I haven't watched it. From people that we follow, they seem to enjoy the show. I believe three viewers out there got four episodes to watch and I heard there's a very slow burn.
So I don't want to watch two episodes that are very slow and then I'm just going to drop out. So I haven't watched it. And honestly, I haven't seen any and again, not against the people that are enjoying the show or have been waiting for it. I haven't seen anything in the trailers or clips that really can be hooked into it.
Oh, no, meaning they're like it for me. And again, I'm still going to give the show a chance. But for me, the trailers look like the Nerek Marvel show. Yeah.
And that's basically what we've gotten recently with the exception of Loki. So. Yeah, I mean, this show would have been great like two years ago. It's been like four years since one Division came out.
And I know the character of Ayatha was a hit and I loved it. And I love Captain Han. She's a great actress. But this felt like, oh, she was a hit in that show.
Let's give her own show. Let's wait four years. It's like, yeah, it's where it's where I don't really care about what Ayatha and the people of what are that town are doing now. And it's like maybe I'm born one day, like maybe after I'm down here.
And I ask my friend, hey, let's just watch the episode. I think maybe we'll enjoy it, but it's not like, oh, I can wait for it a week after a week. So I just have to check if you watch it. I wasn't trying to give you my photo show.
And I will check it out because I do like Catherine Han a lot and I love one edition. So I that's like, but that's how the excitement I have. I'm not really expecting anything from it. Yeah.
All right. It's like a different one. It's the penguin. Right.
This was the penguin. I love this episode. I really loved it. I know some people are calling it a masterpiece and all this.
It's just one episode. It's just one episode. I'm not going to have some calm down. I don't want that hard to say this the greatest show ever, but I love that it's a piece of right after the Batman, which is one of my favorite movie-going experiences in a long, long time.
That we don't need to set up the world again. Like everything is there already. And we go. We know what's happening.
The world got me some mess and he's just ready to take over. And I'm like, oh, this is a character named Alberto. He's gonna be, you really have a long time. He got shot down five minutes into it.
But I really enjoyed that. I really liked it. I loved it. I've said it before Batman is my favorite fictional character.
The Batman is my favorite Batman movie. So I desperately wanted to go back to this world. And I'm a big gangster movie fan. And I'm a soprano.
This is my favorite show. So I was just like, it was me for me. And yeah, like spending more time in that gritty Gotham city and learning more about it was was very fun. And I'm kind of feeling like I just want this show to go on.
Maybe have the penguins show up in one or two scenes in every Batman movie, but just leave a story here. Yeah. I don't need Batman. I would pay.
And Robert Patterson shows up in the show. I'm gonna lose my mind. But I don't really need him to, but if he does, I'll be super excited. Yeah, it's like the Monog TV show on Apple.
It's about Godzilla, but not really. But Godzilla shows up in a couple of scenes and just go crazy. So this is a Batman show, not really. But if he shows up with one scene, it's gonna be nuts.
Oh, yeah. Performance is very great. Colin Farrell has the penguin. It's a perfect character.
The way he plays it, that first scene when he's back in the iceberg lounge and this Maroney Son or whatever, the way he just kind of gets his gun and just blasting. I was making fun of him and I wasn't gonna take it. Yeah. And realizing, oh crap, what have I done?
All these new family members that I show up, the mother from... Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I made your mother.
And I didn't figure it out till I saw the little clip at the end. Oh crap, I know she is. Vic, right? The guy that's now helping him.
So now everything's working for me the way he's playing both family, giving the ring back and then the body without the fingers. So it was a great setup for what's to come next. So I'm really excited for this. Can't wait for...
Not this on the next one, the following episode. Yeah. Just hit out the park. Just give me more of this.
I love... Love the Batman, love the penguin so far. Yeah, no. Chris in...
Chris in the middle of the day, I think it's her name. Sometimes. She was awesome. And she...
I think she's gonna be a lot of fun to watch. Yeah. She was kind of scary when she gets close in after that dinner scene. People underestimate you.
But not me. I know you're meant for more. Something like that is like crap, you know. Going back to the Batman thing, like...
I, again, I don't expect him to show up and I kind of don't want him to. But like, I don't think he has to have a presence in a way like... The Batman like was his introduction to Gotham City. Like, that was like his origin story more or less.
So like, if the crime families are gonna be doing things, he has to kind of have a presence, right? Yeah. Maybe not him showing up, but maybe someone telling the penguin like, Oh, the Batman rated this place. That's not it.
Yeah. It might something that comes up in the news, from the news something happened in the Batman to come in and... Maybe not that. Maybe Bruce Wayne.
Bruce Wayne is out there doing something. There's a... Bruce! Rose Rose.
Remember me. I don't bring... Go on them. Give me go on them there.
Oh, what his name? Oh my god. The actor? Yeah.
Yeah. You have to be right. Jeffrey Wright. Yeah.
It would be awesome if he shows up at the same point. Yeah. All right. So let's go to what we came here to talk about between Thanos.
Is there rings of power, episode six? Where is he? Altii, listen to your show from last week's episode. You and Tony, you're still getting up or you're cold or being sick from doing our show.
Yeah. I have no idea what I got. Like, it sucked. But in that recap, you said that episode was the one that kind of hooked you a little bit.
Yeah. And I'll go further in. I'll let you give your... I mean, to me, this was the episode.
That episode six. I mean, I love episode five, but so far this is my favorite episode, episode two. And I'll put it right there with some of my favorite episodes of season one. I love episode six.
Yeah. So episode five was like my... like, undoubtedly my favorite episode. That's my favorite episode of the season.
Of the season. But like, for me, like, that was like where everything clicked. I was like, okay, yeah, no, I'm into this. I like this one.
It kind of had a little bit of a... The last episode was kind of like in the fight is coming and this episode, the fight is coming. It's almost here. So...
I get that point. Yeah, I thought the battle was gonna start a little bit early. It basically was the last five minutes in this episode. But I love that now, like all the chips on the table and regularly on it's about to fall.
Like, Anatars manipulation of everyone. It's so obvious for the same time, Kalebringbors, kind of internal downfall. It's so sweet to see. But at the same time, you don't want to see.
I know what's gonna love it just that first scene with him talking to the rings. Like talking to the rings on me. I wrote it down and he goes like, yeah, rings of men. Why do you still defy me?
You who live not, breathe not, possess us, not mine or will. What pride is woven in your innermost self that you resist my hand. Because we've talked about Kalebringbors. He wants to be this bigger than ever elf craftsman out there.
And to not be able to decipher the power of those nine rings for men. And just kind of falling more and more into despair. And then when Anatars comes in, oh, you're just going to fall into your mind. Maybe you're just gonna stay there a little bit longer.
You don't want to come out. I'm just tired. He's like, ah, he's working so hard on Kalebringbors to get into four nine rings. I just love that manipulation.
But when Kalebringbors has to come out of it, he gets pushed more into it. I don't know. I just love that introduction. At first.
So they were all deceived? Yeah, no, Anatars. What a guy. Nah, just talking.
Mil Daniel. I like to call him Miara Daniel because she's screwing everything up. Or Kalebringbors forgets her name. She wants to throw him on the table.
Anatars keeps getting to it. Oh, he's now. But can I trust you? Can I trust you?
Tell you something? Can I trust you? Screw with your head. But yeah, just pull Kalebringbors for getting her name, for getting where he has his hammer.
And it's, oh, you mean that hammer over there? It's fine. I'll take care of everything else. You'll stay in this room.
Don't come out for anything. No, no, we're going out. Nothing to see here. But I love that way those two play.
Like Charlie Baker has Anatars been killing, especially these last two episodes. But then we get this body thrown into there. Some black speech written on this. Oh, where is he?
Where is he? But then you see that's a ball on his face. Like it's, yeah, my plan is coming to fruition. So I don't know.
I just love all that. And then he runs out to get more metral. We'll talk about that in a couple of minutes. Yeah, Anatars, again, like it's so obvious everything that he's doing.
But again, like with everything in the world, like a lot of corruption happens in our face. And we're like, oh, I wonder what that really means. Oh, we'll go back to, because he goes out to get me through. They run out of me through.
They can't make any more rings. So we'll talk about his scene with the dwarves, which I love also. Oh, you call me father. No, no, it wasn't me.
It wasn't me. It comes out of the shadows. Well, he comes back with the metral. And then that's where the war starts, right?
They start attacking a Reggion. And that's why I tell the boss, I hear the warning, the hoarder sometimes, no, no, we're fine. Come on, friend, keep working. Ah, I don't tell me I need to do it.
Just push a thing. And he's like, don't touch me. He's just rapsing. Like, I'm done dealing with you.
Just make me the nine rings. Tell everyone's like, let me go, friend. I gotta go watch out. I like love, yeah, friend.
Love again. Yeah, I love the actor, that little turn to get into his head. Come on, that was one of my coolest scenes in a long time. It's not even a long time.
He walks out. On he. People dancing. People running for their lives.
Yeah. Now, before that, when Tell the Rainbow works out, and it's just sunshine, and I love that. I love that voice. Like, and I wish we had a shot of, from the point of view of the people, like they're running for their lives, and Tell the Rainbow is like, yeah.
I thought we were gonna get it before we do a switch from daylight to night time, which was a great scene. And as we know, now I was done in camera with just Moby Magic, I guess you should call it. Moby Magic. But again, it's the power of Avatar.
Like, others, it's just later, he just boils a hole into you, and then just gets in there. There's no way that you can get him out. Hey, but then, yeah. You know what I'm liking about the show.
There's something about Lord of the Rings that I think it's powerful, where we feel the stakes of the ring, but we have no idea what the ring actually does. And I don't really want that answer, but the show is giving us hints at what the ring is, and why it's so addictive, and why it's so powerful and corrupting. And then in the other side, like we're afraid of Sauron, but we never even see him. Like, because he's dead.
And actually, the third is that he might come back, and his mouth is there, and his eyes. He's been there for a thousand years or whatever. And Galat is trying to kill him. He's not doing that.
He helped, he's trying to be left alone. But again, it's like this, the show is like providing more context for the Lord of the Rings story, but it's not ruining the mysticism of it. We're seeing why Sauron is so powerful and why he's so dangerous, but we're not really getting into the explanations, like specifically it's more like giving us context work, I think. Yeah, it's like, that killed him because I hit him with the crown.
But yeah, they're basically alive as a blow of venom. How? We don't care. He just survived.
He's out there. But also love, I can just kind of finish it up with his manipulator, Calabriimbo, how Calabriimbo is vanity, I guess, gets the best of him when he gives him Faean or Summer. Like here, you need the hammer of the persecurator, that's still Marios, your greatest idol that you want to surpass here. You see Summer to finish.
Oh, yes, thank you. I'll take it. He knows how to play him like a fiddle out there. And it's great to see it.
Like we know, we said it before, we know what's going to happen. It's great to see it and you want to poke Alabriimbo out of it. But great to see. I'm a little idiot.
And then we talk about it, it turns to Knight, everyone's running and then he walks out to see the army of Orch, and he's like, I don't even have to raise my own army. They brought them to him. Yep. And cut to that scene of Galadriel.
Yeah. So let's go ahead. Let's talk about Adar and Galadriel. Come back to talk about the Stranger and Tom Bamboy.
I mean, about they're having a nice lunch. Adar and Galadriel is like, failure in a very short batch of Savino Loge there when Daré was walking. I actually like that scene. That's like, we're hanging out together.
Sange now. She wasn't... He remembers her chakles. Yeah, he was staying back when he is going to live.
But I love, again, Adar is an orch right now, I'm an orch. Well, he makes so much sense. I think that's one of the great things about the show. Yes, Saran's evil.
We need to kill him. Why? I don't know because he hasn't really done anything bad. But Adar and the other side, had some great points when he spoke about he gave you everything that you want.
He promised you one army. He gave me, he promised me children. He gave them to me. So everything that we wanted, that we decided he gave them to us.
And then, and I love that it's when Galad was like, oh yeah, Elrion has my ring. He's bringing it back. Yes, Anami, when I kill Sauron, okay. Is she with High King or not?
Be free and go to Mordor and just be happy or he's gonna kill us. Because that's the powerful question that Galadriel does have an answer to. And very real world. Like, this victory actually looked like Galadriel.
Like, really. So be honest, I think if they help, they would be granted a land somewhere. High trees, for a bunch of trees, I'm going to block out this one. The ruler could be fine.
But yes, it basically says he has Morgoth crown, which I love seeing. I love every time they bring all these things from the Silmario, they bring Morgoth crown. They mentioned that Silmario is that used to be attached to it before they were removed. And he wants to use the crown plus Galadriel's ring to finally defeat Sauron.
Then oh, you just tell me what I want to hear. So I give you more answers. I tell you what you want. You already told me enough.
I know who has your ring. I know where he's coming. So thank you. Galadriel is the same time.
Missa may have a lawyer press him when she talks to people. Someone to tell her, hey, she'll have for a little bit. You're good. But like, she then comes to the realization, like, wait, this is like all his plans.
Like, that's what he, because it clicks on her. Like, why would he want us to come if he has no arm? And she's like, oh, oh, that's so high. Yeah.
And that I think that's going to come into play later, because we saw that main org, Gloog, or whatever his name is, kind of look back at Galadriel when she said that, I don't know what's going on. Yeah. And before that, we saw that three orgs. Can I say, everyone's not going to die, because otherwise, so she forgows.
So we're just going to head out. That's one. Now, Aaron did come out. That's a great kick-ass thing at the beginning.
Look, and then it comes back, right? Sorry. He doesn't come back after that, right? No, so he kills the three orgs.
And sees that one of them has a map or something, which is a map of a regular. I think that's how he knows. And now he's on his way over there. Yeah, I think that was just there for us to know how.
He's still in the next episode. Yeah. I hope he doesn't break deal with him. Oh, but he's still doer.
He could bring his deal there. Where's his deal there? This way. What do I mean?
I really doubt Aaron is going to show up alone. I think so, dude. I think. You know what?
I love about that scene. It's, and I'm not one to talk about parallels, I have this message with that. But in season one, it was the opposite. Like, Aaron was trying to help the people, the South Land, he was hunkering down in the town, trying to hold out as long as he could for help to show up, which eventually they did.
