We saw that this inheritance has both present and future dimensions. Presently, the meek enjoy freedom from grasping, envy, and comparison because they belong to Christ and already possess all things in Him. Ultimately, Scripture points to a literal reign with Christ in the coming Kingdom, as seen in Revelation 11:15 and 20:4. The meek inherit not by force, but by surrender. Their present contentment and future authority flow from a life submitted to Christ, governed by the Word, and empowered by the Spirit.
