SA reaffirms support for Botswana AU candidate

The South African government has dismissed criticism for supporting a campaign to have Botswana Foreign Minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi to be elected chairperson of the African Union commission. Its crunch time for African diplomats who are lobbying support for a candidate that will replace Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as head of the continental body's administrative body. African leaders will meet in the Rwandan capital Kigali in two weeks time for the African Union mid-year summit. Tshepo Ikaneng has filed this report
