Transitioning out of the Navy, he found his life’s calling in ministry and has been a pastor at Canyon Ridge Baptist Church in San Diego, California, for over fourteen years. His dream is to simultaneously fund worldwide Missions and create generational wealth for his family. Beginning with four single-family home purchases in 2019, Burnie and his wife, Leslie, launched into real estate investment. In late 2019, they joined a mentoring program that began their journey into multifamily syndication with other investors through their own company, Forge Equity Group. In 2020, they raised $850K and closed on a 29-unit apartment syndication in Augusta, Georgia. In 2022, they raised $1.5M and closed on a 75-unit property in Augusta, GA.
