SAA believes it had been infiltrated by an international crime syndicate which looted millions of rands

from AM Live on SAfm · host SABC News and Current Affairs

SAfm — South African Airways (SAA) says it believes that it had in the past been infiltrated by an international crime syndicate which looted hundreds of millions of rands through corrupt tenders in the procurement of aircraft parts. SAA says some of this dates as far back as 2015/ 2016 . The airline says it has launched an investigation to look into whether it had been supplied with dodgy parts that failed to meet industry standards. We spoke to Aviation Expert and SA Flyer Magazine Managing Editor Guy Leitch. We also spoke to Numsa's National Spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi- Majola regarding SAA managing to interdict the planned strike by Air Chefs staff members. The court says NUMSA may return at the end of November to argue why the interim order should not be made permanent. Air Chefs employees are not happy because the anniversary bonus was unilaterally withdrawn by management.
