I attended UNC-Chapel Hill and graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College with a B.A. in Psychology. I attained a course of study certificate from Duke Divinity School. I received my ordination in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2003. I have served as senior pastor at Garris Chapel UMC in LaGrange, NC since 1998. I have been married to my best friend, Diane for 40 years. We are blessed with two sons and daughters-in-law, as well as three granddaughters. In November 2011 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The day after thanksgiving I had surgery called the Whipple procedure. In January I began a regiment of chemo and radiation. In March, our first three month scan showed that the procedure had successfully removed the cancer. We are grateful to the doctors and all of the staff whom God used to work this miracle. But we are confident that we know who the Great Physician is, as well as the One who still does miracles today. We are als
