Sacrificial Love: Hosea and Gomer

from universitychurchofchrist · host Rich Little

September 29 – Sacrificial Love: Hosea and Gomer Synopsis: Today, when people seek their own desires and wants from marriage, Hosea’s story reminds us that covenant isn’t about us, it’s about the one with whom we covenant. His love for Gomer is an expression of God’s love for his people, an unselfish, pure, and sacrificial love that binds people together for a greater mission and purpose. The bottomless love of God meets the broken love of people and reminds us to look outside ourselves into the mission of God and the work he is doing through our marriages and lives. Text: Hosea 1:2-3; 3 – Hosea’s faithfulness to loving sacrificially; Hosea’s faithfulness to loving redemptively; God’s faithfulness to loving relentlessly.
