Sacrificing Fame and Beating Illness to Feed Orphans

Gary Van Dyke had a successful career in radio and television for decades, until his life suddenly changed at 55. Losing his children in a custody battle, he began traveling the world to take care of other children-starving orphans! After discovering the greatest problem for abandoned children was lack of food, he founded Food For Orphans. This organization has delivered 8 million meals in 16 countries. But, not long after he started this charity, tragedies befell him. His wife developed breast cancer, he developed prostate cancer, then melanoma and then Parkinson's Disease. A lesser man would have thrown in the towel, and gone back to his entertainment career, which didn't require international travel. But, Gary is one of a kind. He and his wife struggled bravely through their medical issues and are continuing their journey warming the tummies and souls of millions more.
