Have you ever been sad? Let's talk about that. Hello everyone. Welcome to the Daily Grateful as I get used to using my brand new audio interface.
I am now producing the podcast on a Roadcaster Duo, which is the smaller version of the Roadcaster Pro. I was going to get the Roadcaster Pro, but the Roadcaster Duo is all I need. It supports two microphones. It fits on my desk very nicely, and it has all the qualities and all the bells and whistles of the other one.
So I'm happy. But I'm having growing pains. People struggling with this voice as we get through all of this pollen that is now slowly working its way out of our system. Sometimes we get really sad.
I found myself that way quite bitterly. My brother passed away just general things. I listen to a podcast. I'm going to suggest it to you.
It's a wonderful podcast. I listen to it every day. It's about a five-minute podcast. It's going to be OK by a woman named Nora McInerney.
It is just an inspirational podcast where she says right up front, hey, everything's not going to be OK. But even in the midst of darkness, you're going to find little tiny bits of OKness out there. And even in darkness, I find that I'm grateful for a bunch of little things like the strength to find the moments of light within all of the sadness that we deal with. And I'm going to tell you the sadness lingers.
It really does. I had no idea. Well, I didn't ever think about it. I had no idea how difficult it was going to be to deal with my brother's passing.
Just no idea whatsoever at all. He passed in early February and we are now in mid-March and it's still lingering. But you know what? I am grateful that I have the ability to feel or process all of these emotions.
I'm no longer just sitting there being incredibly sad. Yeah, I am. But I'm working my way through it and I'm understanding it. And I'm thinking about all the good times that I had with my brother.
Stress can be overwhelming. It really, really can be. Things like the sadness causes stress. For me it does.
But then again, I look real things. Like the lessons that all of that teaches me about resilience. I'm also grateful for the people who have been supporting me through this journey. My kids, they've been great.
My favorite ex-wife has been great. My first ex-wife has been great. So I've had support on this and that's good. And we all look for little ways to get support.
And what else am I grateful for? In a situation of sadness, I am grateful for the gift of the fact that I am now. I have the ability to work through all of this. And I have the ability to breathe and to be alive and to be on Ozempic and be losing weight.
Yeah, I'm on Ozempic. I'm losing weight. I can't do math. I started off at 285 pounds.
This morning when I hopped out of the shower and got on a scales after I dried myself, I was at 267. And I'm not hungry, which is strange. I'm not Ozempic to lose weight, although it's a wonderful benefit. I'm on it because as it turns out, I'm a type 2 diabetic and it's something I've been on the edge of.
And recently I found out I had gone beyond the edge. And my doctor said, we have wonderful drugs and she told me about this one. And it's working just great. It's working just great.
So I'm grateful for that opportunity. Kind of expensive, but it's great. My insurance is helping a lot, but it's great. And there's a coupon filling out that's even going to help, but I'm grateful for all of that.
But yeah, you're going to experience sadness. It's going to happen for you. Someone's going to pass. I'm going to pass.
Someone's going to leave your life. They just might break up with you. You're going to have a relationship that ends. The woman of your dreams is going to be dreaming about someone else or the man of your dreams is going to be dreaming about somebody else.
These things happen. They happen every day in the midst of all of that. I'm just sure of that. Why is his voice so bad?
Oh, well, I'm going to get through this week's podcast. And we're going to move right along with this. And everything is going to be good. And I'm grateful for that.
You got some bad experiences going on right now? Take the time to decide what you're grateful about when it comes to whatever bad is going on right now. You're going to find them. It's going to be hard.
Someone will say, what the hell are you talking about? You look. They're there. We'll see you tomorrow.
