Safe Spaces (I Had a Leak..)

It’s Saturday morning. I flutter my eyes open at 8 a.m., expecting to see a blue sky and hear nothing but birds chirping in the distance. Instead, my thoughts are interrupted by the sound of water dripping from the corner of my apartment. Yes, I had a leak.. and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. But here’s the thing: it’s true what they say, we don’t appreciate what we have until it’s gone. In my case, what was gone was the warm, cozy, and comfortable space I had always considered home. Even thought I knew my apartment to be all these things I couldn't leave my apartment fast enough that day. Now this got me thinking about why we view comfortable spaces as safe?
