Safe Zone Speeding Tickets by Mail
from Smiley Morning Show · host 99-5 ZPL | Cumulus Media Indianapolis
Indiana's "Safe Zones" program (also known as the Worksite Speed Control Program) captures speeding in active highway construction zones and mails civil penalties directly to the registered vehicle owner. Trigger Speed: Cameras capture vehicle speeds using radar or LiDAR. You will receive a violation in the mail only if you are caught traveling 11 mph or more over the posted speed limit. Worker Requirement: These automated cameras are only valid and actively issuing tickets when actual road workers are present at the worksite. Penalty: The initial offense is a warning notice. Subsequent offenses result in a $75 fine for the second offense, and $150 for all offenses after that. Points: Because these are civil penalties rather than moving violations, they do not add points to your driver's license and are not reported to insurance See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
