SAHPRA cautioning citizens against illegally formulate GLP-1 drugs

The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority and the South African Pharmacy Council, have swooped on a Pretoria pharmacy and shut it down, after finding it was illegally manufacturing and distributing GLP-1 drugs. Originally prescribed for diabetes, many people are now taking them for weight loss. SAHPRA’s Regulatory Compliance Manager, Mokgadi Fafudi, is with us to explain.
