Jeff Sutton's boat ran aground on Byron Bay beach after his anchor broke and tore the winch off the deck while he was ashore sourcing repair parts for a broken boom. The sailor, who has been voyaging for three and a half years, faces a potential $20,000 fine and was initially told by Maritime and Salvage they would dismantle his boat for up to $200,000.
