Saint Mary's Gaels Add Turkish Big Man Altuntas

Mickey McConnell, new head coach for Saint Marys Gaels, secures six-foot-ten post Salih Altuntas from Miami. Altuntas, a Turkish big man, brings size and physicality, promising quick impact. He averaged 12.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in Turkeys under-nineteen circuit, earning all-league honors twice. Altuntas also led Turkeys squads in scoring and rebounding at Eurobasket tournaments, grabbing bronze last year. Joining a global roster, he amps up the physical edge for the Gaels, primed to rise on a taller, tougher foundation for next season.
