Welcome to the Tweed Trends podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I mean that's pay girl, and you are tuned in to Tweed Trends. It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today.

Hey guys, are you all geared up in your green? I hope so, because today's St. Patrick's Day. Let's get started.

In the wake of the coronavirus, so much has changed in just a couple of days. I mean, seriously, here in Virginia, just on Friday, everything was good, and then they put out a message that, okay, schools will be closed on Monday. And then they came back later in the weekend saying, no, let's make that two weeks. And then you went from groups that were about 250, that maybe that's not a good idea, 100, oh, now maybe that's not a good idea.

50, well, now it's down to 10. So basically, it's like the government keeps trying to give us a little, but giving us a little is giving us too much. Americans are known for doing whatever the heck they want to do whenever the heck they want to do it. So the fact that they keep giving us a little leeway saying, okay, guys, you can get together, but just make it a small group.

Okay, make it a small group, all right? Make it a smaller group. How about just say don't go anywhere, don't do anything, stay at home, but we have rights, and I think that that is the biggest downfall of the American is the fact that we have rights. Now, am I upset about having rights?

No, I love the fact that we have rights, but people will use that to argue why they should be able to kill themselves. I got rights, I can go out here and rub up on everybody and drink after them and do everything, and if I die, let me die. I feel like that's literally what they're saying. But I mean, it's like, come on, what about the greater good?

What about the idea that if we can get this disease to slow down just a little bit, it would be amazing, but instead, it's growing exponentially. And those of you guys that are not big into math like me, exponential growth in decay is one of those things that like in my mind, I'm just like, I remember learning about it and thinking to myself, how does that even work? And then now you see it in the case of a disease spreading across the country and you're like, oh my gosh, this is how this works. You know, I'd often focused on it in the terms of exponential decay and like things going away, but still never quite goes away and still completely zero.

And I feel like this is gonna be our situation with this disease. Like it's been with others. Smallpox, on one hand though, they were able to eradicate it completely. And maybe there's a chance that someday that this coronavirus will be on that list of diseases that completely went away, but right now, we are in a world of trouble.

Now when I say we're in a world of trouble, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that like, oh, the world's about to come to an end and we should all be panicking and running around with our arms in the air and just flailing all over the place. I don't mean it that way. But what I mean is that we're our own worst enemy and we're gonna be the cause of our own downfall because everybody wants to do what they wanna do when they wanna do it. Kind of like the fact that today is in fact, St.

Patrick's Day. And there are some people who have done the same thing every year for as long as they can remember, on St. Patrick's Day. They go to a bar, they get wasted and whatever happens after that happens.

They drink green beer, they wear green, they go around kissing everybody and do another stuff to everybody. I don't know, St. Patrick's Day has never been my thing, but I've seen and heard some things, especially I grew up not far from Savannah, where they turn the water green, like OMG. Like that's taken, celebrating to the extreme, don't you think?

But it's just one of these things where you would think that in light of such a serious situation, people would be able to step back and say, you know what, St. Patrick's Day, although today is the day, we don't have to celebrate it today. We can celebrate St. Patrick's Day every day if we wanted to.

So why not let's just hold off on these little celebrations right now and let's do the thing that makes more sense. Let's stay in our homes, get some rest, work from home. Do whatever it is, I know we've got a gang of things in our house that we could be doing. If you don't have enough stuff, then get your mask out and come on over to my house and help me because we got a garage that needs to be cleaned out, my closet needs to be cleaned out, the whole house needs to be cleaned out, my daughter's toys, oh my gosh, toys for sale.

Let's celebrate St. Patrick's Day that way. Let's do something constructive and then find the fun later on when it's a little bit safer to do so. That's all I'm saying.

I love the idea of celebrating St. Patrick's Day, but I dislike the idea of putting people at risk. What I think we all need an at home safe St. Patrick's Day internet challenge.

Now I don't know what we could do, but I mean we could maybe get some green ice and dump it on our heads like the ice bucket challenge or there was that cinnamon challenge. Maybe we can do something with something green like parsley or cilantro, I don't know. Green sprinkles from birthday cakes or I don't know. I need some help, but we need something because people are losing their minds.

Honestly, I can't even lie to you. I started losing it on Saturday. Now Saturday was the weekend, so I don't know why, but as soon as I got the message, the school was gonna be out for two weeks, I automatically got cabin fever. And I had to go out to the store.

I didn't need to buy anything. I had already bought stuff that I needed. We've got plenty of toilet tissue and we had that before. Everybody decided to run to the store and take it on.

Speaking of that, you know what? Let me get all my little soapbox about that for a hot little second. So people, I'm so confused about the toilet tissue thing. Like why did everybody run out and don't get toilet tissue?

There was plenty of food on the shelves, but there was no toilet tissue. I'm thinking, did somebody say that there was a cure in toilet tissue? Because my goodness, it didn't make any sense to me, and I'm still trying to figure it out. Now, I get that if you don't wanna have to go to the store for stuff, then you probably need to get food.

You know what I'm saying? You probably wanna have some food in your house so that you don't have to go anywhere to get food. But in my mind, and call me gross, I don't know, but I believe in but day life, where if we were to run out of toilet tissue, we would be okay. Guess what?

You would just need to go to take a shower after you use the bathroom because you're gonna need to clean your butt. And the quickest way would be with some water, okay? Simple as that, guys. Don't use up all the toilet tissue.

I'm so sorry, I'm just saying. I was completely blown away. A friend of mine in Atlanta sent me a picture and was like, oh my gosh, and all the toilet tissue's gone. And then I was listening to Heather B on SiriusXM, and she's like, oh, they went in the stores in New York, and all the toilet tissue was gone.

And I'm thinking, oh, this is crazy. And what do I do? I go to the store here in Virginia, and all the toilet tissue is gone. And I'm like, all right, all right guys.

Who's playing the joke? Somebody decided not to ship the toilet tissue out because there's no way everybody went and bought all the toilet tissue and left the food behind. I'm just saying. All right guys, well that's today's episode of Tweech Trends.

It's St. Patrick's Day, be safe, be smart, and I hope you can make the best of that situation and make it fun anyway. Be creative, do something weird, strange fun, do it all on social media, so you don't really have to be by anyone. Practice the social distancing, okay?

Well, anyway, while you're doing your social distancing, head on over to Twitter and follow me at hei. That's at hei, e-v-e-t-t-e, or just look for the hashtag Tweech Trends. All right, I'll see you back here on Thursday.
