Sakic Returns as Avalanche GM | Colorado Rockies News

Joe Sakic, Avalanche legend and two-time Cup winner as a player, is back full-time as general manager — a role he previously held from 2014 to 2022, including leading the team to a championship in 2022. Originally set to only oversee the draft and free agency, Sakic has decided to stay on permanently, making him the clear face of the franchise’s future.
