So if you are inside my free broadcast channel on Instagram, Profit is a Priority, you will know exactly what's going on here. I ask questions in there weekly, if not daily, to support you if you are inside that broadcast channel with where your business is and how you can make profit priority.
But one thing that I really wanted to do is give you really in-depth answers that you can listen to over and over again that will support you with elevating your business and increasing your profit. So today's podcast episode is dedicated to some incredible questions I have been asked inside my broadcast channel that I want to live the lid on the answers and solutions with you now. If you're not inside that broadcast channel, go to the show notes and take action. And if you are, get ready, we're going in.
So the first question I want to talk to is a strategy for a client journey and the timing on when to do things. This is an amazing question I'll spell each up. So the most important thing we have to recognize about your client journey is the following. If you imagine, and I've used this metaphor before, so if you are a client, you'll know this one, is if we imagine your business and your client journey like a spider.
So the body of the spider is your business and the eight legs are the different ways that people can come into your business and start their client journey with you. Now, what's really important is to recognize that a client journey isn't just with someone that is already a client and paying you. This is a journey that someone goes on from finding you to potentially becoming a client. So the first part of this that I would recommend from a strategic point of view that you do is the following.
Create your business spider. I should trademark this really. Create your business spider. Now, by that I mean, know what the core of your business is, the body, and think about the eight ways.
And right now, they could be 12, you know, so you decide, but the ways that people can really come into the body of your business. So one leg could be your podcast, another leg could be your Instagram, your email list, your YouTube channel, your TikTok, your LinkedIn, your networking. So think about the bodies that the legs of your spider can link to the body. Now, why does this matter first and foremost, you as the body of your business as the business owner need to be very, very clear on how someone can experience you, your work, your amazing business before you have directly been involved.
Now, here's a perfect example. Let's take this podcast, the profitable business podcast. I wanted to really understand the customer journey with this podcast and how I can support someone who becomes a listener that maybe has never heard of me, found the podcast, been searching for profit or looking at different ideas on their podcast or, you know, apple iTunes, wherever they are. And they have found this podcast.
Okay. So the first thing I think of is someone's found this podcast and this is one of my legs. How do I bring someone who's listening to this podcast into the body of my business and give them a really clear, simple, kind journey. So you will see in the show notes that there are three very simple invitations for you as a podcast listener as a pop, which is what we're calling ourselves.
Number one is to make sure that you get your hands on my free sales and cash tracker for your business. Number two is to join my broadcast channel for free. And number three is to come and join us inside the profitable business hub. My 12 membership, we also get CBD accredited in sales mastery for no extra cost.
So I have created a very simple, seamless choice menu, you know, list, however you want to say it, but someone listening to this podcast about their next steps. Now, why is this important? When you think about a client journey, a client journey is exactly that a journey. The journey cannot be listened to the podcast, but kind of client, it can be, of course, but for you as a business owner, you need to make sure you are creating opportunities to sign post someone to continue their journey with you.
So continuing the journey as an example could be allowing me to support you and making sure you are tracking your finances in your business properly, from your cash, your sales, your projections, your on target, the deficit where you're at, I can help you with that. That's part of the journey. Another part of the journey is making sure you can hang out with me every single day for free on my broadcast channel. And part of the journey is to actually come into my incredible profitable business heart, which is focused on allowing and supporting and mentoring women in making profit, the priority in their business and mentoring and providing you a CPD accreditation resources trainings to do so so your business is here for the long term.
That's three different steps alongside this podcast. So the first thing I would say as a first step to this question Lisa and anyone listening who wants to focus on their client journey and their timing of when to do things is for you to get really clear on your business spider. Second part, which is knowing the timings of when to do things, this thing comes down to how clear you are on who is coming into your business on which leg at which time, for example, if you want to focus on one to one, if you want to focus on a new course, if you want to focus on a new group, a mastermind membership, whatever it looks like, you might change what is going on on your client journey and the invitations on that client journey to make sure that they lead to that body of your business that service. So in order to think about timing, what you want to do is think about what your current goals in your business, what is your capacity and how are you going to meet that target hit and you know and reach this next part of your capacity, whichever service you want, based on the legs that you've got the opportunities you've got to bring people into your business.
So this is a little bit about your timing and making sure you've got the capacity to serve, but more than that is listening to your business is actually having a handle on the marketing in your business, the receptivity, the engagement, your client interaction with you, how the audience is receiving what you're doing, following the momentum. So the second part of the question is definitely a lot more bespoke. And of course we can dig into this further when it comes to timings, launches, how to create a successful launch plan, how to look at creating momentum, how to build curiosity, how to reduce the curiosity and increase the conversion. We can look at all of those things and these are things that we are doing inside the profitable business hub.
But as a starting point to this question, I would say you want to make sure you're clear on your capacity to serve and also that you are thinking about how do the legs in your business support what you're trying to sell and bring them into that service as a body. So the first question and I hope for everyone else, this is giving you some food for thought. So the second question is, how can I have the courage to bin off low paying media clients. This is such a great question.
And I'm not going to mention the person's name to this one, but this is so important for us to all talk about and lift the lid. Nobody wants to be serving clients that don't respect their boundaries, the message them at nine o'clock at night, this message them on weekends that don't do the work, the don't follow instruction that come to cause without being organized. Nobody wants to have clients like that. Okay.
But then that also means we can't be that client either. There is a constant ricochet effect in a service based business world. So the first thing I would say to this person about anyone if you want to level the type of client that you are attracting is to level yourself as a client to level the way that you are working you are handling yourself, you are seeking support, you are being organized proactive being really vigilant with your business. That's the first thing is it's an energetic match is an energetic alignment, right.
So it's really important that we start with ourselves if you know you are ready to increase the quality of the client that you want to serve that starts with us. So how can you elevate yourself what habits do you need to start being consistent with what excuses you need to let go of. How do you need to support your business. Why does this matter from a practical point of view, you can use this in your marketing.
Okay, you can use this in your marketing to showcase yourself what you are doing the type of person that you are in business. And this is what will be mirrored and reflected back to you. And that is so important as a business owner. If we want people to behave a certain way, we need to make sure we're putting out that energy as well and creating that is the expectation that is the baseline of how we're working here.
And the second thing that you can do from a practical standpoint is actually be explicit with your marketing. I am talking to you if I'm talking to you if I use myself as an example. So let's take the profitable business hub. Okay, which is your invitation as Pobs on this podcast.
I don't want people joining that incredible space. If you are not ready to one do the work to commit to your profit as a business owner three get organized with your finances and for recognize that this is on you this is on me. I am not responsible for your business success. I need to co create that next level.
So I don't want to work with people that are codependent for the excuses don't take action procrastinate don't follow instruction and do not take responsibility for their finances. So you could start to be really explicit in your marketing with things like that and that's a perfect example. So they would be my two things started inviting yourself. Three actually then turn that into your marketing and showcase yourself as that role model and expectation raised based on expectation and number three think about your explicit marketing.
Right, the next one strategically deciding which ideas to focus on first right and there's so many that mentioned this someone else did pacing my offers and having to create a clear structure someone else said a simple content plan that I can follow for sales someone else ideas for timing off the placement launching Someone else staying focused on the plan. Right. So this is this is not a new one. How to launch effectively so it's a no brain for my clients.
So that's already five that I've just listed back to you. So I'm going to try and answer this question for all five of you. The first thing that you really need to think about if you want to be strategic. If you really want to be strategic with the times of your offer.
It starts with you and your timeline of events. It starts with you and your timeline of events. If you want to launch something you set the time you dictate the time that you want to release something or launch something first and foremost. But the second part that is you need to be setting yourself up for success.
What I mean by that is if you're launching something new and you've got this idea and you want to run with it now and it's actually only been two weeks is that enough time for some of you it might be but is that enough time for you to execute that plan and give yourself the best opportunity to set yourself up for success. Here's another way of putting that does that give you enough time to be the greatest you can be in your business to be the greatest you can be in your business. So when it comes to timing the first thing is you and your dictation of what you want to launch and how you're going to show up and set your signpost in your business pre that deadline so that you are able to be the greatest you can be and set yourself up for success. Examples of this could be looking at your communication with your audience your email marketing looking at building curiosity and entry looking at creating sneak peeks behind the scenes looking at building and generating momentum looking at things like promotional graphics and strategies looking at building an audience getting new eyes on your business looking at running challenges or webinars and master classes looking at having a multi-layed approach right that's just an example are you going to have enough time to set yourself up for success to look at your opt in pages to maximize your links to make sure everything follows a customer journey.
And if you are then thinking okay yeah this is great Sam but I still don't know whether to launch one on my group first some people say one to many some people say one to one here's the thing let me go back to something I mentioned in the previous question. Follow the momentum there has to be an element of being good in business some of it is about your instinctive intuitive nudges based on your business no one sees inside your business and the pulse of your business as much as you do so there has to be a congruence with here's my idea but here's my intuitive image based on what my audience is telling me do you have a really good handle on those things are you auditing in your business how many people are downloading x podcast versus x podcast how many people are opening and clicking on your emails based on this title that title how many people are looking at this content over that content are you doing your bit to understand what the pulses of your business and to understand what we want to do is that what they need from you and if you if the answer is no then another part of this question would be to build up that conversation if you are not going to conversation with your audience it's very very difficult for you to actually then serve them because you don't have a person in mind and you also don't have that front of mind experience for your clients either so if you know that this is something that you need to work on your business. This is something that you need to work on and you really want to build up that pulse in your business make that a focus before you focus on selling because I can definitely reinforce the more work you do to build up the momentum the conversation engagement the more consistent selling will become in your business because you always got that one front of my marketing but to direct avatar in your mind who you want to serve and why you want to serve them so your office then have more context they have personal resonance you have more confidence in selling them because you know that there are real life examples I could go on. Hopefully that gives you an idea when it looks at timing and when to release what to release the next question why is it so hard to price my own services yet it's easy for me to price or pay others and another question that links to this being in the big money mindset when my reality is different knowing how much to charge how to measure the value of success how to target messaging so the clients and best with ease right.
So this is a really really great question and theme of questions I'm going to answer this for one two three four five of you I've got your names in my and my photos on my screen so. The first thing you want to think about is looking at your own pricing formula so with this podcast what I really want to do is make sure that it's tangible for you to take action but of course if you want more personalized support in your business please come and hang out with me in the profitable business hub and we can deep dive. But to answer this question here on our amazing podcast I would say this would be a formula that I have put in place since this question has come up so much around how to price your services. There are two key things are really important when it comes to pricing or service.
One is time and one is desire. So one how much time is this going to take you and how much time is it going to save someone else. So time for you could be how you know your deliverables so your time on calls your time outside of calls you know your time checking in emails voice notes all of those vox are telegram however you work in your business editing. First draft second draft again whichever service based your businesses.
So the first thing you need to do is think about the time it's going to actually take you physically. The second part of that is the time you can save someone else how much time can you save someone else by working with them or doing this with them. So the time and the stress that is a huge huge price tag people pay for convenience think about Hello Fresh or Ghost. Think about online delivery for Tesco's think about Amazon think about Prime think about being able to have anything at the click of a finger fingers people are paying for convenience.
Now this is really important when it comes to business because there are two types of people people the one things fast and cheap therefore they don't get a good deal they will never get the best outcome or people that want things done properly because it will save them time in the long run. This is where we want to focus the time you're then saving them and the time you're going to be putting in based on your knowledge your expertise your you know the work in the credentials that you've done. That's the first part of the formula. The second part of the formula then is your desire.
How much do you want to charge so you don't resent doing the work you don't resent catching up with your clients you don't resent having to show up for calls you don't resent having to be present or being visible. This is really important there has to be a level of fulfillment to the work that you're doing and we can't ignore that if you don't enjoy the work that you're doing if you don't feel fulfilled you are not going to sustain your business and therefore you're not going to be building long term profit and financial wealth. So put those two things together the time is going to take you how many hours plus then the time you're going to save someone else and then add that with your desire what would allow you to feel really fulfilled in the work that you're doing. And this is where we go back to the first question if you know them that your desire is slightly higher than the caliber of clients coming in raise yourself in that raise yourself as a first call and start raising the expectation.
This becomes a mutual understanding then between the types of country wants to work with the types of clients that you don't want to work with if you have an application process if you have a weightless if you have a non refundable deposit for discovery calls if you have a payment plan or pay for option if you only work with people with they can work with you in certain hours if you don't work on these days if you have a 24 hour apply policy whatever it might be these are things that are going to allow you to raise the standard of your business as well as your service. So when it comes to pricing think about that formula as a first next step and hopefully this allows you to find ease in one the price from a practical point of view in terms of time and you know output for you also from a time perspective on them saving but then secondly to that for your level of fulfillment if you are not enjoying the work that you are doing you are not going to want to keep doing it you are not there for going to keep saying it and there's going to be a drought because you won't want to be working for that type of money or that type of investment because you're putting in too many hours and you don't feel like you're being rewarded for that are at knowledge. So look at time and be and desire and see where that leads you and of course then talk to me the broadcast channel and I can give you further support on this and also pricing is one of the modules that we cover inside my sales mastery CPD program which is available on its own 1500 pounds but if you join the public business hub you'll actually get access to that for free and we work through that together each month.
