One of the most watched and celebrated athletes coming from this year’s Cocodona 250 was Sally McRae, as she geared up for her first attempt at a 200+ mile race. Thousands of people followed her journey from Black Canyon to Flagstaff, as she battled tons of adversity throughout the race, but pushed through to eventually cross the finish line as the 4th place female in the race. It was truly one of the best storylines of this year’s race! Sally McRae is a professional ultrarunner for Nike, Bare Performance Nutrition, Leki, COROS, and Camelback who is a fan-favorite in the ultrarunning community for always being so authentic, transparent, and inspiring when it comes to sharing her journey. Known as the Yellowrunner, Sally constantly challenges herself to show the world that we all have the power to choose strong. She is also the host of the Choose Strong Podcast, is a content creator, and is the author of the upcoming book, Choose Strong, releasing on June 4th, 2023.
