Salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeños grows across 27 states, CDC says

from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand

A salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeños is growing. The CDC now says 345 people have gotten sick across 27 states. None of them are in our area. Minnesota and Colorado each have at least 110 cases. Federal investigators say the peppers came from Mexico and were distributed by Coast Citrus to restaurants in multiple states. Chipotle and Qdoba have already stopped serving the jalapeños. The FDA is still working to determine if any of the peppers were sold in grocery stores. If you have any in your home, the CDC says you should throw them out and sanitize any surfaces they may have touched.
