Segmento 1 Carmen Reyes nos explica que es el glifosato, un herbicida altamente contaminante usado en Puerto Rico por municipios y LUMA. Estas sustancias se acumulan en el terreno son sensibles a las escorrentias con las lluvias, pero también se acumula en las propias plantas y son susceptibles al viento, de manera que puede entrar en mayor o menor grado a la cadena alimenticia. Segmento 2 ¿Por que los municipios usan una sustancia tan peligrosa con pocas precauciones? La Profa. Reyes exhorta a los alcaldes a prohibir el uso del glifosato. Falta conciencia de la función biológica de las yerbas y plantas que dan cubierta al suelo que mantienen un ecosistema de insectos y microorganismos y previenen la erosión del terreno.
