When Sam stayed over at a new boyfriend’s house for the first time, she never expected to leave with a ghost story. In the middle of the night, she woke to see an elderly man standing in the room, his face glowing in the light of a flame as he tried to light a cigarette. Wide awake, she stared at him until he suddenly vanished. At first, she didn’t know what to make of it. But later, conversations about the house revealed that this wasn’t the first time someone had encountered the cigarette smoking man.
