Sam Taimani Expects To Play Up To Standards Of Those Who Came Before Him

from Dawgman Radio: A Washington Huskies athletics podcast · host 247Sports, Washington Huskies, Washington football, Washington Huskies athletics, Football, Baseball

On if the Oregon State game was his best game as a Husky... That's the standard I want to live by. I expect to play that way every week. Definitely a good game for me, but something to build off of and not just rest on it.On what has made the difference for him... Getting my technique down, being smarter. Getting stronger. This is only my fourth season of playing D-line, so I've learned a lot of things that have helped me along the way.On shutting down UCLA and playing up to expectations... My motivation is to hold up the standard that Greg Gaines, Vita Vea, Levi Onwuzurike have set here. We expect to play better and that's what we're tyring to do.On playing mobile QBs... This week we have a really good QB. He likes to run and take advantage of space. We need to play disciplined football and stay in our lanes. On how the losses have impacted the team so far... We know who we are. The coaches push us. The energy is high and we can't let that get us down. Still a lot of football to be played and a lot of things to play for. We have the energy going and we are practicing well.On players bringing energy and which ones do that best... Brendan Radley-Hiles brings the energy, shows how tough we are; Edefuan Ulofoshio is a beast. He's always bringing the energy; Trent McDuffie is a beast too. So explosive and a leader. On Ulofoshio... Always happy, always lots of energy. His tone doesn't change. He's got a lot of juice. On where his nickname "Taki" comes from... My grandpa called me that when I was a little guy and it just stuck. On Jordan Lolohea and his relationship with him... We're from the same area, super close, good friends, took some time off from football, so when he got here, I helped him understand what he needed to do and that it will get hard here, but you stick with it and you'll have success.
