In August 2016, Samsung Corp announced the acquisition of Dacor Inc in consumer appliances. Both companies are compatible in terms of product offering as well as target consumers in the US. By acquiring Dacor, Samsung gains a number of advantages, namely leveraged brand and product strategy especially in large cooking appliances, shared production capacities and human resources, and expansion in retailing networks.
