Sand Sisters LA Founders, Tedi and Sonya, Discuss Social Emotional Learning for Tweens and Young Women, and Fighting the Confidence Gap

from Courageous Wellness · host Cloud10

This week on the podcast we have an episode we know you are going to love -- just in time for the holidays! Today we sit down with the co-founders and sister duo of Sand Sisters Los Angeles, Tedi and Sonya Serge.   Sand Sisters Los Angeles Girl Powerful™ program is a youth empowerment non-profit, designed to give females the socio-emotional learning tools to build a strong sense of self. Sand Sisters mentors predominantly underserved tween girls, ages 8-14, to develop the tools to build a strong sense of self to increase their academic performance, social well-being, and build positive self-esteem. They work to create a foundation that will carry these young women into a thriving and balanced adulthood.   In this conversation with Tedi and Sonya we speak honestly and openly about our childhoods, emotional experiences as tweens, and learn about the important work that they do with adolescent girls. We also learn about events they host for adult women and speak on tools that are applicable to all - regardless of age.   We appreciate Tedi and Sonya for the work they do and opening up to have a vulnerable and honest conversation that we all gain something from.   Also! Courageous Wellness will be off next week for the Christmas holiday, which falls this year on a Wednesday. We will be back with exciting new episodes on Wednesday, January 1st. Topics in January will include: whole 30, food freedom and intuitive eating, high fiber diets, fitness and more!
