Then the eighth inning came through it like a semi through a plate-glass window. Nine hits on the water... and somehow, the big ones kept slipping the hook. But the Dogs swung something heavier. They hit one out in the third, one in the fifth, and then came the eighth — a freight train through a plate-glass window. Two more over the fence, and suddenly the roofline's got holes. You can't pour a foundation with cracked footings. And Lake Country handed Chicago a couple of those cracks themselves — two errors behind Pilarski.
