They unloaded the boat before sunrise... and spent the long day watching the shoreline wash the pilings out from under 'em. Tonight: the DockHounds put up a four-spot in the first... then went quiet while the RailCats rebuilt the whole shoreline.Now, that first inning... that was something to see. The DockHounds came out swinging like they'd sighted a muskie in the shallows — four runs on the board before Gary's crowd could even settle into their folding chairs. Three hits, one frame, all the momentum a team could ask for. Load-bearing wall number one... raised in minutes.But listen close — that was the only wall they built. Gary don't panic. They're patient. The RailCats answered with three in the bottom of the first, one more in the second, one in the third... and by the fourth, the DockHounds' pitching had sprung a leak no patch job could hold. Three more. Then three more in the fifth. The game became a slow, grinding stretch of shoreline where the home team just kept stacking rock.And the DockHounds' bats... they went quiet as a heron at noon.
