A dock that strong at one end, and at the other — nothing but swamp water and a screen door that don't quite fit. That was the DockHounds in Chicago. DockHounds put two on the board, and for a moment, the whole frame looked true. Nine hits on the night — but after that third frame, the bats turned to cedar shingles in a dry wind. One... two... three... nothing. Quiet as a bobber at midnight. Chicago, though, they answer everything. They matched with a run in the third, took the lead with one in the fifth, and then in the eighth they drove the last two... the way a storm strips a roof off, all at once.Two errors on the DockHounds' ledger. You can't call that a foundation crack — it's a whole pier that shifted. Jake Pilarski took the loss, and the line don't need much decoration. The Dogs got ten hits to our nine, and they made each one hold weight. We scattered ours like loose change on a nightstand. A two-run inning is a good front porch, folks... but you still got to build the rest of the house. The pattern tonight is plain.
