En toda su trayectoria, FUNDANICA, ha atendido más de 3 mil 500 pacientes y en la actualidad brinda asistencia integral a 119 niños y adolescentes en tratamiento; aunado a 69 casos en seguimiento. •Por segundo año consecutivo, y en alianza con la Alcaldía de Maracaibo, se vienen realizando charlas educativas en diferentes parroquias del Municipio.Según la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) para el 2023, un 80% de los pacientes a quienes se les detecta esta enfermedad en sus fases más tempranas tiene mayores probabilidades de vencerlo pues afecta e invade menos el organismo, respondiendo con mayor efectividad a los diferentes tratamientos.Se calcula que cada año padecen de cáncer unos 380 mil niños y adolescentes entre 0 y 19 años de edad. La mayoría de los tipos de cáncer infantil se pueden curar con medicamentos de quimioterapia u otros tipos de tratamientos como cirugías y radioterapias.
