Sanitary Pad Price Increase Angers Korean Netizens
from Korea FM News & Talk | KoreaFM.net · host Chance The Broadcaster
The announcement earlier this year by Yuhan-Kimberly, South Korea's leading company in the domestic sanitary pad market, that it would increase the price of its pads by up to 20 percent has resulted in a social media backlash against the company & the highlighting of stories from low-income teenagers who, already unable to afford sanitary pads & other products, have even had to miss school when having their period. Korea FM's Chance Dorland spoke with Korea Bizwire's Joseph Shin about news coverage of the controversy & also with Camilla Wirseen, CEO of The Cup Foundation, who says a sanitary pad substitute product used in developing countries would also be beneficial for South Korean women.Rate & Review this podcast at http://bit.ly/KFMReviewThis episode is brought to you by Podcast Assist's $30 per hour flat rate podcasting voice overs, editing, mastering, transcriptions & even hosting (select a topic & they'll create & host the podcast).
