Episode Description
Remembrance, includes recognition and the ability to see beyond the surface
Kirpal Singh's 1962 Christmas Message, self-surrender to God secret of true lover of God. Develop humility, purity, meekness - do devotion and meditation. Conquer passions through communion with Master. Enter superconsciousness through intoxication of His sweet remembrance. "God is love and our souls are of the same essence as that of God. Love is inherent in our souls and the way back to God is only through love : "love and all things shall be added unto you."
"Be not imprisoned in the jail of "I" and "me". He who hath transcended self, he verily hath attained to the Highest. He hath become Perfect. Such a one knows no difference between the Hindu, the Muslim, the Sikh, the Christian, the Jew, the Buddhist or the Zoroastrian, for God is the Lord of all and in all shines the one picture Divine; we are worshippers of the same Lord."
Russell, 2 ways to approach spirituality - inclusive and exclusive. Be aware of God working in everything. If we can see it, it's there and when inner and outer life dovetail then we can go jolly.
Sawan Singh's letter to initiate complaining of lack of progress, Reach the eye focus and win the battle of life. Sant Mat does not fix any time limit. Eye focus inspires all world's masterpieces - where divinity comes down to meet the struggling man. Detach from outside connections, assert supremacy over minds and
bodies. Learn to function in body when needed and in other worlds. Slow and steady wins the race. Practice makes perfect. Avoid what interferes and accept what helps.
Russell, when you want to realize God, everything leads you in that direction. What counts is the longing in one's heart. Once it's there, it cannot be stamped out. Becomes pleasureable, the more we remember.
The Jewel of Happiness Chapter 3, "Of all the religions, the best one is to meditate on the Naam of the Lord - as this is the purest breed."
Story of shopkeeper's son, cow, snake, frog, old woman, little boy, horse, king, magic ring, fairies. Moral of story - In this world there are many kinds of worship; there are many ways in which you can be kind and loving to the other creatures of the world, and you always get the benefit of doing that. But the greatest kindness which you can do - the greatest mercy which you can have - is the mercy on your own Self - your own soul; and you can do that only by doing the meditation. The heart within which Naam is manifested is the purest of all.
Tape: Sant Ji's last talk in U.S. "The Pages of our Heart", - bani of Saints is from their pure and holy heart, their personal experience and not at the level of mind and intellect. Relationship between Master and disciple is very deep. At death no one comes to help us except the Master, who saves us from the angel of death.
