The police search the canal and find human remains and a gold watch inscribed to Fermin from his wife. **The Face in the Fire** Tisoy, a fisherman in Samar, is paddling home at night when a single blue-white flame appears over the water. Three Santelmo surround his boat and herd him out to sea. The wind picks up, waves rock his banca, and Tisoy hears a low humming tone. The closest Santelmo reveals a face inside the flame — an old, weathered, profoundly sad man whose mouth moves without sound. Tisoy prays and the lights vanish, but he is stranded four kilometers from shore with no paddle. A fishing boat rescues him at dawn. Three months later, the Santelmo returns, glowing through the walls of his house. His wife hears the humming too. **The Marsh at Midnight** Four friends near Laguna de Bay — crispyAdobo, saltyDinuguan, gentleWhale, and oldBanca7 — enter a haunted marsh at night on a dare. Three Santelmo surround them and lead them deeper into the swamp. The water rises to their knees, the ground becomes unstable, and a constant humming vibrates in their chests.
