SAPS confirm security breach following suicide in Parliament

from AM Live on SAfm · host SABC News and Current Affairs

SAfm — A police officer on duty in Parliament at the time that a staff member entered the premises with a firearm he later killed himself, has been suspended. The South African Police Service says due process was not followed by the officer. The man committed suicide two weeks ago, and in a note cited bullying as the reason for the act. He said that he had been subjected to this for nearly two years and that there was no help available for him even though he had raised this matter to his seniors. The South African Police Service's Major General Leon Rabie told the media in Cape Town earlier today that an inquest has been undertaken.
