Sarah Kennedy: Calocurb CEO on the cost of weight loss drugs in the US versus NZ, long term use

Weight loss drugs are reshaping the US retail landscape, but New Zealand is unlikely to see the same boom anytime soon.  GLP-1 medications are now being sold through major retailers like Costco and Walmart, with some costing as little as $25 a month.  Here, they can cost more than $400 a month, and have only been available for around a year, compared to five in the US.  Calocurb CEO Sarah Kennedy told Mike Hosking America is in a gold rush.  She says it's a way to acquire customers, because people will buy more at the retailers when getting their prescription.  LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
