What this episode covers
Sarah Noll Wilson is an executive leadership coach, author, and President and CEO (Chief Edge Officer) of Sarah Noll Wilson Inc. Working with CEO's, HR leaders, and organizations that care deeply about their employees and understand the connection between employee development, employee satisfaction, and organizational success, Sarah Noll Wilson, Inc. specializes in transforming relationships from good to great. Through her work as an Executive Coach, an in-demand Keynote Speaker, Researcher, and Bestselling Author of “Don’t Feed the Elephants”, Sarah Noll Wilson helps leaders close the gap between what they intend to do and the actual impact they make. She also hosts the podcast “Conversations on Conversations”, is certified in Co-Active Coaching, Conversational Intelligence, and is a frequent guest lecturer at universities. This Episode’s Heavy-hitter’s: Sarah was massively into theatre when she was younger. She had an instructor that once said if his students weren’t fully invested in theatre, they should leave. Sarah truly loved theatre but knew she didn’t really want to be an actress later in life, so it got her thinking about what she did want to do. Part of the new normal might not have as much to do with masks and social distancing as it will have to do with trauma and divisiveness. After such a polarizing time where politics were on display in the workplace, there needs to be a readjustment. One of the quickest ways to know someone might not be self-aware is when they forwardly proclaim that they are “self-aware.” Most self-aware people can be observed more often than having to come out and say it. Part of what made Sarah’s transition into full-time self-employment possible was that her old job allowed her to “wind down” and work part-time as she was working more on her business. Sarah discovered her ADHD as many other founders do– when she was first starting her company, after all regular structure in her life via her job was taken away and she had to focus more on being disciplined.
