TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. All works a no play makes Jack a dull boy, they say. Jesus Christ himself recognising this fact and even more the need for contemplative life amidst the active life instructs his apostles in today's Gospel to "come away by yourselves to a lonely place to rest". Beloved child of God, we all need this intermittent and occasional time out from the busy activities of life to be away all by ourselves to rest, to reaccess, re-evaluate, to restrategise, to seek the face and the will of God in prayers and to renew our self dedication to God, to the service of humanity and to the course/mission/purpose of our life. Don't wait for the activities of life to consume/destroy you before you take a break. The work can finish you but you cannot finish the work.
