The debate turns on two big questions: does the binding happen at Christ’s first coming or at his return, and is the “thousand years” a literal countdown or symbolic language for a long, God-ordained era. Instead of getting lost in timelines, we anchor the whole conversation to the reason the text gives for the binding: so Satan can no longer deceive the nations.That single phrase forces a more precise definition. We talk about what “deceiving the nations” could mean, why it doesn’t require Satan to be inactive, and how Scripture often describes spiritual realities in non-physical terms.
