Satanic Panic is more than just a fun rhyming scheme. It represents a time when very real harm was done to unsuspecting victims, all because conservatives needed someone to blame. But it didn’t just stop when popular media found something else to fixate on. The harm of being associated with something as inflammatory as satanic rituals, however unproven, followed daycare workers in the form of headlines and heresay and many were driven out of the careers they loved.
