Satellite Sisters on Benghazi, Brain Surgery and Our Big Book Publication Date October 28!

from Satellite Sisters

On today's Satellite Sisters podcast, we cover the world from the Benghazi hearings and Brain Surgery Live to Lian's last minute scramble to get ready for some book events.  Don't forget that this Tuesday October 27 is the official publication date of "You're The Best: A Celebration of Friendship" and this Friday October 30 is the first big NYC book launch bash at Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn at 7 pm.  More details on our Events page. In the news, Liz share's what it's like to wake up in a time zone far, far away and have the Benghazi hearings going on and on and on.  It drove her to her minibar. For the chocolate bar.  Lian and Monica are both curious about the National Geographic Channel show airing tonight: Brain Surgery Live.  Monica is definitely in.  Lian?  Not so much.  Liz also gives us a heads up on a new show about scientific advances called Breakthrough that will debut next month on the channel.  One of Monica's favorite blogs is Apartment Therapy. They posted this week about what you learn about yourself when you live alone.  Monica also shares some parenting duties  she has taken on this weekend with our niece Fiona Dolan.  Lian and Sheila are skeptical. Meanwhile, Sheila tests out Bank of America's new Teller Assist service.  The sisters don't understand what actual "assist" someone needs at an ATM but Sheila found it soothing.   Lian has some thoughts on this stupid job title story from the New York Times and some fears about a big book event she is attending tonight.  Apparently, she should have look ed at the invitation sooner. Finally a Facebook round-up that includes an Oryx on the loose and some awesome Satellite Sisters of the Week contributing to free dental work to the community in Seattle.   Coming up this week on our 'You're The Best" Encore Interviews are two of our all-time favorites: a very poignant discussion with Elizabeth Edwards and a blockbuster with @bad_robot  JJ Abrams, pre Star Wars but post Felicity.  Please listen and share.   We hope we will see you this Friday at Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn. Otherwise, have a little party of publication date Tuesday because You're The Best!     See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information. We're your hosts, Marcus and Jessa Myer - a husband-and-wife team passionate about pursuing and telling the Truth. The more we study Scripture, the more we experience the ever-growing joy and pleasure found only in Jesus. We’ve been doing ministry together for the past 15 years, and one thing we’ve seen over and over again is that so many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are desperately hungry for a deeper teaching of God’s Word. In each episode, we explore theology, doctrine, and practical wisdom that every believer should have the confidence to pursue. Join us as we uncover essential truths from Scripture and tackle difficult, sometimes controversial questions to provide you with biblical answers. Where the Enemy wants to keep the Church in a place of shallow faith and theological insecurity, our hope is that these conversations will equip you with boldness and assurance!
