Satori Shakoor is an acclaimed storyteller, multidisciplinary artist, and social entrepreneur, recognized as a 2017 Kresge Literary Arts Fellow. She began her career touring with George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic as a member of the Brides of Funkenstein before expanding into acting, comedy, and writing. A Moth Mainstage storyteller and host of Detroit Performs Live for Detroit PBS, Satori captivates audiences worldwide on stages, PBS, NPR, and top podcasts. She is the Executive Producer of The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers®, an internationally recognized storytelling platform, and leads The Society for the Re-Institutionalization of Storytelling, partnering with major institutions like Duke University and the University of Michigan. Her latest project, the comedic stand-up storytelling concert film CONFESSIONS OF A MENOPAUSAL FEMME FATALE, premieres Thursday, June 12, on Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Google Play, and YouTube. A lifelong learner, Satori studied at Wayne State University, Michigan State, the University of Hawaii, The Groundlings, and Second City Toronto.
