Satoshi Nakamoto
from Unresolved: A True Crime & Mystery Podcast · host Unresolved Productions
On November 1st, 2008, a 9-page whitepaper found its way online. Titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-To-Peer Electronic Cash System," the whitepaper's author clearly articulated their goal to create a decentralized digital currency. The only catch was: this author, named "Satoshi Nakamoto," was a complete unknown. Whoever they were, they had registered a domain for "bitcoin.org" in August of that year, and the publication of this whitepaper predated the official launch of Bitcoin by a mere two months. In the decade since, Bitcoin has grown to be the world's leading cryptocurrency. However, its founder remains a complete enigma, despite becoming one of the wealthiest individuals in the entire world...
