Saturday Mornings International News Review: Trump Slams Iran Over Hormuz, Melania Calls for Epstein Hearings, Xi Meets KMT Leader

🌍On MoneyFM 89.3’s International News Review, Steve Okun joins Saturday Mornings Show host Glenn van Zutphen. We begin with US President Donald Trump’s sharp criticism of Iran, accusing Tehran of doing a “very poor job” managing oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint critical to global energy supply. With tensions already high from the ongoing conflict, Trump’s remarks add fresh uncertainty to an already fragile situation. In Washington, First Lady Melania Trump made headlines of her own, publicly denying any links to Jeffrey Epstein and calling for congressional hearings for survivors, a rare and forceful intervention that has drawn widespread attention. Across the region, China’s President Xi Jinping held a rare meeting with KMT leader Cheng Li-wun, the first such visit in a decade. Both sides emphasized a desire for cross‑strait peace, even as geopolitical pressures continue to mount. And finally, a lighter moment from China: a viral video of robot boxers swinging enthusiastically but landing no punches, prompting questions about the state of AI‑driven sports entertainment.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
