Saved a Wretch Like Me
from The Stronger Walk Podcast · host Jon Alsdorf
God's law was never meant to be a ladder to salvation. It was designed to be a mirror, revealing the depth of human sin and our desperate need for grace. Romans 7 makes clear that the law is holy, righteous, and good, but no amount of law-keeping can save a person who has already broken any part of it. Sin is not merely a list of bad choices. It is a spiritual power that exploits the law to produce death. The tension believers feel between doing right and giving in to temptation is not a sign of failed faith. It is the Holy Spirit actively at work, chipping away at what does not belong. Only Jesus Christ can deliver us from this body of death, and He does so not because we earned it, but because grace was always the destination.
