the first of this little Peter. I thank you, praise God for my wife also, and for my children being present here in the house of the Lord. I don't take that for granted because everyone doesn't have that situation. So I thank you, praise God every time that I can look out and see my family here in the midst of the saints.
Chapter one will be our text, the consideration starting in verse three, reading down to 13 in your hearing. And Peter writes, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, has we gotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and under-filed, and that fate is not a way reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith, unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. We're in ye greatly rejoiced, though now for a season, if need be ye unheavened us to a man of full temptations, that the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold, their perishable, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor, and glory at their appearing of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen ye love, and whom though now ye see him not yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls, of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you, searching what or what manner of time the spirit of Christ, which was in them dis signified, when he had testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow, unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you, by them that have preached the gospel unto you, with the holy ghost sent down from heaven, which things the angels desire to look into, wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Amen.
As I considered this text some time ago, and it came into my mind to an experience that I had with an individual at another church. During the winter seasons, my boys on play basketball at a church league on Saturdays, and while the league is going on, people are sitting around talking, and sometimes getting to conversations with different individuals that are there, and I was at the opportunity to share my testimony with several of them that are at the place. And these are people that are purport, they're saved, they go to church and so forth. But as I started to share my testimony, and also I listened to their testimony, and what they had to say, and how they came into their belief in Jesus Christ.
And the thing with this one particular individual whose face I can see in my mind's eyes still, because it kind of crushed my heart and gripped my heart with them, and anguish over this particular individual, because in his testimony, he gave the testimony that he slips up every now and then, says things that he has no business saying, but he goes back to the Lord and asks for forgiveness, which is right to do. But the thing that really bothered me about his testimony was the fact that he believed that he was all right, in the state that he was in. And I questioned it, and he proceeded to let me know that he believed in this particular teaching that we're gonna try to buy the grace of God, this mantle on today, in case some of you might believe this doctrine that's out here. And it bothered me so much so that this message was kind of born out of that, it bothered me that so many people are deceived.
So many people are being robbed of their salvation. They're not even given the opportunity to believe the right way, because of some teaching that's not even biblical in nature. And the message on today is saved to be saved. As I alluded to, there is a doctrine that's being touted in the Christian world today.
It supposes that an individual retains their salvation, regardless of how they live after they have been converted. Those that teach this doctrine say that there is no possibility of them ever becoming an eternally disfellowed ship with God. The common phrases you've probably heard some of these, but this particular ideal that they purport is once saved, always saved. Or once in grace, always in grace.
Or the theological definition of it is eternal security. This teaching on the surface sounds pretty good, and appeals to one's feelings. But who wants to have a feeling of that I may be law-fical to the things that I'm doing. But the stark reality is that this is not true.
It's not true, not because I said it's not true, because it cannot be quantified in the true word of God, which is the scriptures. It cannot be unverified that this doctrine is true. But in fact, there are many scriptural references that show that this doctrine is indeed false. However, people continue to push this teaching because they feel it gives them cover for all the mistakes and the sins that they're going to make after they've been saved.
They already have it in their hearts and minds that they're going to sin because they still refer to themselves as sinners. That's like people going to AA meetings, you go there and the people say, I'm an alcoholic still. They never have the expectation or the belief that they're ever going to get beyond, that they'll be an alcoholic or the thing that hangs them up. And it's the same thing in the Christian world.
You have people that still report that they are sinners. You hear it in some of the so-called gospel songs that are around now. One popular one that for a while was, we fall down, but we get up. We fall down, but we get up.
And the one that really bothers me is, they say a saint is just a sinner that fell down and got up. I don't know about you, but when I came into this way, I'm going to Lord save my soul. I'm no longer a sinner. He has changed my status from sinner to saint.
We're not like the Catholic church. We got to wait until you die and get venerated somewhere from some great work. So someone can pray to you and then you'll call the saint. I'm a saint right now living here in the flesh.
I'm a saint. And if you have received a salvation according to the scripture, you are a saint also. No longer are we sinners. They say that they are sinners saved by grace.
Then you can never get away from the fact that they're still a sinner. It is true that we are saved by grace. However, people who have truly been saved by grace have access to God enabling power to live above reproach and to cease from the practice of sin. But these have never been told that they can live above the reproach of sin and can be free from sin.
The scripture lets me know that he that has the seed or the word about him, sin if not, meaning that you don't continue the practice of sin. You don't continue to fall down and get back up and fall down and get back up. There was occasion when Jesus was talking to the woman who was called in adultery. And Jesus then saved to the woman called in adultery, go and don't commit adultery no more.
Because in the mind of God, all sin is the same. All unrighteousness is sin. If it's wrong, it is sin. If it's not according to God's word and standards, it's sin.
But he didn't say to the woman, go and commit adultery no more. He said, go and sin no more. So with Jesus saying that, it lets me know that it's possible to live without sinning. It's possible to live without continually following into the traps in the pitfalls of Satan and in our flesh.
This teaching is a false doctrine was birthed out of the heart of a man by the name of John Calvin. And Calvin created this doctrine from a misinterpretation of Augustine's writing, another person from the Catholic Church in his treaties of the gift of preservation. These men that came up with this doctrine, which is fairly new, didn't even use the scriptures to try to verify what they were teaching. It was someone else that wrote something that they felt good about writing, and someone took their writings and made a doctrine off of their writing.
It's not even a doctrine made off of the Bible. It's a doctrine made off of somebody's else's writing that they misunderstood. And so now you have men airing in the faith, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. You have people making the commandments of men higher than the commandments of God.
But it's important. That's why it's important for us to know what the Bible says. It's important for us to know what the scriptures actually really teach. But you can sit down and watch all these movies about the Bible and think that's the scripture, which you need to go back and check the historical record and see what God really said.
Or you go out here and watch some of these funny movies that they make about the Bible and think some rocks came over and help know or build the ark. You think it'll be a little child or a baby speaking out of the burning bush to Moses if you continue to watch these movies. If you don't read what the scripture says, because the scripture has a whole different account of what the reporting it is in these movies. And what the trick is, they make these movies this way because they want people that are probably looking for something real.
They want people to think that the scriptures are nothing but sci-fi. They want people to think that the scriptures are fake and phony. That this is too impossible. So they put all these things that seem so outlandish in these movies that make it be impossible.
So when people look at that and hear the scripture, they think this is a sci-fi. It's not real. Those things can't really happen. Miracles can't really happen.
Angels ain't real. Demons are not real. God's not real. Because they watch all these foolish movies that are polluted by Satan.
But we need to know the scriptures. We need to be here when Bible study is going on. We need to be here when Sunday school is going on. We need to read our Bible on our own time daily, daily, daily.
We need to read our word. Or as you will be tricked and entrapped. Because there's another doctrine here called doctrines of devils. The devil has doctrines also.
And he's touting those doctrines in the schoolhouses. I'm sorry, but the schools is nothing but a haven of devils. It's a humanistic school. That's trying to snatch the minds of your children.
You need to go to your schools and know what's going on in the schoolhouse. You need to know what teachers are teaching your children, what they believe. You need to know about the classes that they're teaching. You need to know about the sex ed class.
Because now that's being usurped by the LGBT, whatever they're called. The alphabet is usurping them. Homosexuals and lesbians and those people that call themselves the queer people and people don't know whether you have a dress on today or wear a pair of pants. They're confused about their gender.
All this stuff is coming into the sex ed class. And I'm not going to pollute the pulpit, but you know what they teach, what those people believe and how they live. So you can just imagine what they're teaching. They're snatching the hearts and minds of children, my children age, and teaching about my children and even thinking about stuff like that.
They're still trying to figure out how can I get into the transformer? How can I get this toy, that toy? How can it be like Luke Skywalker? They're still thinking they're on that level still.
They're not thinking about all this stuff that's being propagated in the schools now. The children's minds were not made to be able to handle that type of stuff. We had them both can barely handle some of that stuff. We sometimes side with that type of trash and take down when you come around or get afraid when that happens.
But we need to stand up and go, we are the church of Jesus Christ. We're not weak links. We're not afraid. We have a power of God on our side.
But this doctrine was brought in by John Calvin and his doctrine come from the devil because it decedes people and it keeps them from coming into a true biblical salvation. This doctrine is not even historical in the nature. A man by the name of Pali Karp, a friend of the disciple of John, the beloved disciple of Jesus Christ, wrote in a letter to the saints. He said, if we be pleasing in this present world, we should also receive the future world to come.
The Holy Scriptures let us know. In Second, on Chronicles, let us know that the Lord is with us or rather with you while you be with him. If you seek him, he will be found of you. But if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
We find that even Paul the apostle was talking to the Corinthians and beseeching him that you don't receive the grace of God in vain. So this lets me know that you're not once saved and always saved. You're not in grace one time and in grace all the time. And it doesn't matter how you live.
Jesus said it on this way in Luke 9, 62. And Jesus said, no man, let's put his hand to the plow and look him back as fit for the kingdom of God. You can't look back and try to do God's work. You can't be looking back at the whole life and try to do God's work.
You can't look back at the things that you used to do and glory and no stain and try to do God's work. It doesn't work. Many people have tried it and they failed to do so. Many people are trying to impute us today, but the covers are being pulled on them, trying to plow the field of God and looking backwards.
You find them going off. That's why the John and John Calvin's going up because he didn't rightly divide over the truth, taking somebody else's writing. And now he's veered off and called whole churches to veer off, whole congregations to veer off, whole denominations to veer off into destruction. And scripture be fine examples like demons and anions and sofira.
You're gonna tell me that if you walk away from the Lord and go back and love in this present world, you're gonna make it into the kingdom of God? I say you're not gonna make it into the kingdom of God. You cannot make it into the kingdom of God. Going back and having loved this present world when John says love, not the world.
Needed the things that are in the world. For all that is in the world is a lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life. And these things are not like God. So if you're doing things not like God, you can't get or inherit the kingdom of God.
You can't tell me that if you're gonna lie, bold face like willow, willow, willow for lies. Willow for sins will keep you out of the kingdom of God. People sitting willfully saying, well I just ask for God for forgiveness. The fact of the matter is God doesn't have to forgive none of us.
We're not deserving of any of God's graces. We sit here today in heavenly places and Christ Jesus, but not because we married it or we were deserving of it. The fact that we don't deserve anything should cause us to worship even the more. The fact that we're just dust that's been brought into together with the breath of life from God in us to cause us to worship him even more because we don't deserve nothing but death.
He didn't have to come and die for our sins. He did that because of his grace. He did that because of his mercy. Mercy is you not getting what you deserve and grace you're getting something that you don't deserve.
But look what Jesus Christ did. And when I look at that, I marvel at the fact that in a look back where I came from the things that I used to do and my background and so forth and so many people that are in my family background and I said, look at God's grace. It caused the tears to come to my eyes and tell me when I think about what God brought me from because none of you know all the details of my story. And I may never tell you all the details of my story.
What suffices to say that I was a ranked sinner. I was vile in the sight of God. I was reckless in my life. And God took someone that was reckless and vile and turned his life around.
We were all reckless and vile. But it came down and turned your life around. You turned your foot on the pathway leading the petition, turned you onto the road to salvation. This just caused us to marvel at the hand you work of God.
The marvel at the grace of God. No wonder the man wrote the song amazing grace. How sweet the sound that saved the wretch like me. That should be the song of every saint of God that's in the church of Jesus Christ.
Amazing grace. How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. And to the point, you come to the point that you realize you're a wretch, you're gonna be always puffed up. Go on beyond pushing yourself beyond the blessings of God.
You're gonna be too big for your bridges as it were. You think you deserve to be saved, but nobody here deserves to anybody who has received God's grace. And has no business having God's grace. He did because of his mercy.
He did because he's gracious. He did because he's kind. He did because he loves us. He did because he's great.
He did because he's merciful. That's the only reason we have the grace of God dwelling on the inside. That's the only reason why we can come in here and glorify God because he is good. Can't you say he's good?
Hallelujah. Oh, glory to Jesus. Hallelujah. All of us, we came into the world in a wrong way.
But Peter is here encouraging us through his words and is saying, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who according to his abundance of mercy, it wasn't just a abundance of mercy. This poor over mercy, this oozing from God. God is just, he just wants it. He has so much mercy.
It is pouring out of all of his pores. If he had pores, he's just full of mercy. But it's that God in his abundance of mercy, he's begotten us again unto a lively hope. Because the hope that we had before was a dead hope.
All men that came into the world, we came born into trouble. We didn't have hope. We didn't have an expectation of anything good happening to us. And we did think something good was going to happen to us.
It was more so wishful thinking that maybe this or that were happy. But we didn't even have a mind expect anything good to come our way. We didn't have no real peace or joy that came into our heart. Because our joy and our peace was all based upon circumstances of life.
If things were going good, then we had some joy. If things were all right and peaceful, then we had a measure of peace. But let the cage get rattled a little bit. Or let some trouble come into your life.
And in that state, we find our peace waned away and gave whole to the destructive thoughts and so forth coming into our mind. Let something come into our life, and we find that the joy that we had, the things were going OK, had drained completely out of us. Because things weren't going the way they should have gone. They weren't going according to the plan that we had in mind.
But the fact of the matter is that we were all dead and trespasses and incense. And we walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, called the devil, the spirit that now worked in the children of disobedience. We lived according to the lust of our flesh, but feeling the desire of the flesh and of the mind, and whereby nature the children of wrath, hallelujah. Even as others, we were without Christ having no hope, without God in the world.
But God who was rich in mercy, glory to Jesus, for his great love, when he loved us, hallelujah has begun us again until a lively home, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the day. Because Jesus Christ is alive, hallelujah. He's not still in the great. We had the blessings that he bestowed upon us when he poured out the gift of God on the day of Pentecost.
Because he rose again on the third day. We have these privileges and an inherent danger that we can apprehend because Jesus Christ is alive. Corinthians, let us know in 1521, but since by man came death, even so by man came the resurrection of the dead. By as an Adam all died, even so in Christ, to all be made alive.
Hallelujah. This is the importance of the new birth. Hallelujah, because there's no eternal security, but the security and the name of Jesus Christ. You have to be born again.
Jesus said in John chapter three, except you be born again. You should not enter into the kingdom of God. He told people about the marvel at this, but this is the teaching and the plan that God has. For all mankind, they enter into his kingdom.
You have the repent of your sins. Repentance is a pargorn doctrine that has been cast away. Because people have in their mind that they can't even stop committing sin. But the Bible tells us that we have to repent.
Repentance, and Hallelujah. They turn away from the sins that were in. You have some people that repent of the sins, but they're not forsaken. They go back and they come back and repent of the sins again.
That's the way we fall down, but we get back up proud. They continue to fall down and get back up. But when you truly repent, when you truly get rid of the sins, when you truly have a heart that is broken before God, when you realize the sinful condition that you're in, when you realize that the thing that you've done, you've hurt the heart of God. Even if you're back sleeping on the Lord, I'm speaking to you today because you can come back and get right with God.
All it takes is a moment for you to repent of your sins. Don't get pride. Hallelujah. Spry.
I'm binding you right now in the name of Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, I'm casting you out pride. If you're just getting your mind, then you can come back to God. If you're just going to raise your hand and say to the Lord, Lord, I'm sorry for the things I've done.
If you can muster the strength in yourself, Hallelujah. The turn from everything that's not like God. Encourage the loins of your mind. Hallelujah.
You get a sober mind. And so I'm going back to God. I'm going back to my father's praying ground. I'm going back to the old-time way.
I'm looking for the old way, the whole path. And I'm going to walk therein. Hallelujah. I'm tired of living a life, of being condemned.
I'm tired of living a life. When I lay down at night, the thing that I did, Hallelujah, continue to come back to my mind and plague my sleep. I can't even get a good night's sleep because of the thing that on my mind, plugging me. I want to get rid of those things.
You might be here today. Hallelujah. You're going to dignify what I'm saying. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. You're feeling this feeling. Hallelujah. Fear comes upon you because of the things you've done.
You're not sure if God is still on your side. Hallelujah. But you're going to be on your side. You've got to repent of your sins.
You've got to forsake the sins, Hallelujah, that you're repenting of. And you've got to compare completely to God. And turning away from everything. This somebody has a heart, Hallelujah, that is sorrowful for sin.
Hallelujah, heart that is broken in contract. A heart, Hallelujah. That's not looking to justify anymore. A heart, Hallelujah.
That's willing to lay all out before God. And let the Lord know that because this is the only way that you can get into the kingdom of God. You've got to repent. You've got to walk down this road of repentance.
You've got to walk down Hallelujah. And let the Lord know that I'm tired of living away that I'm living. I'm tired of Hallelujah. I'm going to sleep late at night because I can't get a good night sleep.
I'm tired of Hallelujah crying to myself to sleep because I feel ashamed. That's come upon me because of the things that I've done. Let me let you know something. Hallelujah, I'm not looking at you.
The same thing looking at you, but the same thing to praying that somebody will come back and give the life to God. The same to praying that somebody will come out of the mess that they're in. The same to praying that Hallelujah, that somebody will come and give the life to the Lord Jesus Christ. I remember when I wanted to Holy Ghost.
Hallelujah, I came in and I thought it was cool. Hallelujah, I love my coolness. Hallelujah to keep me, but really stretching out and reaching out to the Lord. Hallelujah, maybe it's something else for you that's keeping you from reaching out to the Lord.
But you got to get to the place that I got to when I didn't care anymore, what I look like. I didn't care anymore if I wasn't cool because nobody knew me from Adam anyway. Hallelujah, but all I knew, that I came into my mind that they have what I wanted and I wanted what they have. Hallelujah, because they had the joy that I didn't have because my joy went away when things got bad.
They had peace that I didn't have. Because my peace, Hallelujah, evacuated itself from my soul, but things got bad. Hallelujah, but I wanted that joy in that peace that I heard about, I wanted that joy in peace that called the saints, the sing Hallelujah, and shout about Hallelujah, because they were saved. Hallelujah, I thank the praise God for the salvation, but you've got to repent, you've got to turn away from every sin, Hallelujah, in order to make the first step.
The next thing you need to do, Hallelujah, to receive the salvation that Jesus is talking about, you've got to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, ain't gonna cut it. I already tried that one and it ain't got no power in it. Hallelujah, excuse me, it doesn't have any power in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. I tried it and did it and proved it, it doesn't work.
But when I came and I heard about the name of Jesus, when I came and I heard the preacher talking about the name of Jesus Christ, Hallelujah, because I came in the church, not really knowing why Jesus came, Hallelujah, but when I left here, I found out why Jesus came, I found out what He did for me on the cross of Calvary, I found out about the blood that He shed, the wash away, all of my sins, Hallelujah. I love the church, so I kept on coming to the church, but I said to my spirit, in my heart, I never told nobody this, I never part of my lips to speak to anybody, but I said to my heart, I like the church, I like the saints of God, because they treat me like a normal person. They didn't look at me funny, when I came in my two-piece jeans suit, they didn't look at me funny, when I came in my fresh Jordan, they didn't look at me funny, because I didn't have a tie on, they didn't look at me funny, because I didn't have no church shoes, but they treated me like a decent human being. And I said, I like the saints, and I like the church, Hallelujah, I'm gonna keep on going here, but don't you know the next messenger, because God was speaking to me, and God wanted me, Hallelujah, someone like me, God wanted me, God reached down into the muck and mire, and said, I want that one, Hallelujah, don't you feel blessed, if you're here today, because God reached out and said, I want that one, the Hallelujah handpicked, and selected each one of us, that he's sitting here on today, Hallelujah, you're not here because you're greater, you're not here because you can sing so well, but you're here because God is good, Hallelujah, and I heard the word of God, when I said to myself, I'm not gonna get baptized again, the Hallelujah, but I'm gonna keep on coming to this church, and the message came, Hallelujah, soon and by and by, that you need to be baptized again, Hallelujah, Acts chapter 19, I believe it is, Hallelujah, everyone doing Paul was running the summer of John's disciples, and he saw that they were Christian folk, he saw that they were different about them, he saw that they were John's disciples, but they didn't have the right baptism, so Paul asked a couple of questions, and he got to the point, they let them know, you need to be baptized all over again, in the name of Jesus Christ, because that's what John told you, they looked at him, they should come after me, Hallelujah, so I get baptized, in the name of Jesus Christ, Hallelujah, I remember the day, that I went to get baptized, I remember how I felt, because Sunday after Sunday, the message came, when I knew and realized that I needed to be baptized, but the message keep on coming, Hallelujah, I will stand up in the service, I sat in the back of the church, Hallelujah, stand up in the service, holding onto the back of the pews, my feet wanted to move, but my body wouldn't budge, Hallelujah, my feet, it was like a stuck in quicksand, or concrete, the service after service, I would come, and I get myself psyched up, but it's like this day, I'm gonna come to the church, and I'm gonna get my life, to the Lord, this is gonna be the Sunday, that I get baptized, and Jesus' name, I will stand up, and I remember the sweat, coming down my arms, because I know I needed to do it, but my feet wouldn't move, Hallelujah, and that Sunday I said, you know what, I'm gonna get in the prayer line, and maybe perhaps, if I get some prayer, maybe next Sunday, I'll come back and get baptized, that's what I got in the prayer line, but as I walk down Bishop, in the prayer line, Hallelujah, I believe that the suffering and Bishop get it, so he was standing there on the side, and I said to myself, when me, if I just lean over to this man, and tell him I wanna be baptized, and the spirit came to me, those spirits and devils, that had me locked up, they said, don't know, don't do that, because Hallelujah, to tell you, it's all done, you'll go back to your seat, and you'll be embarrassed, and I said, you know what, I don't wanna be embarrassed, I don't wanna be put on a spot, that Hallelujah, that maybe next Sunday, that spirit told me that Sunday after Sunday, maybe next Sunday, he was just leading me along, into the point that I wouldn't be in the church no more, leading me along, to the point that I might lose my life, Hallelujah, but that Sunday, in the prayer line, I lean over anyway, Hallelujah, I was close enough to him, I walked down, Hallelujah, I was just close enough to him, he was standing there, I said, I want to be baptized, going to Jesus, and Hallelujah, in a moment I said, I want it to be baptized, I felt so light, because you know what happened in retrospect, all those demons, all those devils, they kept telling me next week, Hallelujah, had fallen off, all those demons, and all those devils, they tried to hold me back, I had fallen on board, because I was going to be baptized, and it took me to be baptized, and I was thrown in on cloud nine, I didn't know why I felt this way, but I felt light, that like anchors had fallen off of me, I never felt like that in my life, but I felt like the weight of the world, that had fallen off my shoulders, that Hallelujah, I felt like I could have floated away, that Hallelujah, because the devil's, that had me bound for many devils, but many devils that fell off, because no devil can stop you, for repenting, no devil can stop you, coming to the Lord, no devil can stop you, you don't got to be afraid of no devil, Hallelujah, you don't got to be afraid of no devil, no devil can hold you back, no devil can keep you in your seat, if you stay there, it's by your own volition, if you stay there, because you want to be there, but no devil, say no devil, no devil, no devil, get homey back, I don't care what it is you want, keep you out of the kingdom, no devil can stop you from repenting from your sins, and so I got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, Hallelujah, but the story wasn't over there for me, I needed to receive, they keep their Holy Ghost, I don't know about for you, but the Lord brought me in stages, Hallelujah, he allowed me to hear, I bought repentance first, and he allowed me to hear later on, that he needed to be baptized, I didn't even hear the message about the Holy Ghost, I just saw the joy, re-jose, I'll talk about the Holy Ghost, but the Holy Ghost never registered to me, it was the baptism in Jesus name, but after a while, the Lord opened my ears, they hear Hallelujah, about the power of the Holy Ghost, the power to live right, because I walk out of the church, and with a baptism elder, I walked out Hallelujah, the baptized in Jesus name, and I went back and I thought I was all set, Hallelujah, so I went back and do my thing, Hallelujah, I wasn't trying to sin, I was trying to live right, but I found myself, Hallelujah, I used to play basketball, because that was the thing that had me bound, Hallelujah, but I found myself out in the court, and doing things, Hallelujah, mission shot, and stunned, come out my mouth, and it's O Lord, Hallelujah, forgive me for what I said, but I found that I couldn't keep myself, Hallelujah, and so I realized that I needed the Holy Ghost, and I heard the Word, about the Holy Ghost power, that's able to keep you from sin, that I heard the Word, about the Holy Ghost power, that Hallelujah is able, they help me to walk uprightly, the Holy Ghost is not dancing power, the Holy Ghost is not praising power, the Holy Ghost is live right power, if you wanna live right there, you gotta receive the gift, or the Holy Ghost, if you wanna live right, you gotta receive the power, or you're gonna go back to your smoking, or you're gonna go back to your cursing, or you're gonna go back to your carrasset, you're gonna go back to your boot, you need the Holy Ghost, it's the only thing, it's the only thing, that's gonna keep you, it's the only thing, that's gonna give you power, it's the only thing, Hallelujah, hallelujah.
And don't you know, June, hallelujah. Roll around, hallelujah. I think I got baptized in April. June rolled around, hallelujah.
I used to go home out of green jet at that time. Used to drive home with tears in my eyes. From playing field Connecticut back to Springfield, Massachusetts, because I did not receive the Holy Ghost that Friday night. Or I didn't receive the Holy Ghost on that Sunday.
I used to ride back home, hallelujah tears in my eyes because I really, really wanted to be saved. I really, really wanted to stop doing the things I was doing. I'd be at work elder, walking on eggshells, trying not to step on answer as it were. Hallelujah, I remember I threw a banana peel at the door one day.
I went back and drove back at the banana peel. Hallelujah, because my heart was pricked that way. You need that type of heart, that's prick. You need that type of heart, that is soft and tender.
Towards the Lord that you don't want to offend at any point. But you find people today, they don't care that they offend. They do what they want to do. They're hallelujah, they're trash up everything.
They trash themselves up because they don't care. The heart is not tender. But I had a tender heart. I had a tender heart.
Glory to Jesus. And I wanted the Lord Jesus Christ. I wanted to mourn my friends. My friends didn't see me for a long time.
Hallelujah. I didn't know what I was doing while separating myself. It wasn't something I planned on doing. Is it the fact I wanted the Holy Ghost?
I wanted what God had for me. And I knew if I needed what I wanted what God had to come to the plate where God was. I had to come to the plate where He could be found. I had to come to the plate where God had to look at reside.
And that's where amongst the saints of God, that's all I knew. Hallelujah. I didn't say I tried to stay at home and pray by myself. I prayed when I was at home but I came to the church because I knew that's where God could be really be found.
Hallelujah, because the house that I was living in, I can't say it was sanctified and holy. But I knew in a sanctuary, it was sanctified and holy. I knew that His name was called here upon His place. So I found myself in prayer coming here to the church of God.
But June rolled around. Hallelujah. It was the first Sunday. Hallelujah.
In June and the month of June. I remember it like it was yesterday. The month of June I came to the church. Hallelujah.
I think it prays God for a deaconessist to read. Because deacon read. We can be encouraging me. Sometimes I'll be broken down and say I'm not coming to the church today.
I feel this way. I feel this way and that way. I saw it with him on the phone. He said just coming out to church.
I said, all right. He can be able to talk to you. And he cursed me. He said come on back to the church.
Hallelujah. June rolled around. I came down to the altar. As we did always.
Calling upon the name of the Lord. But a few weeks later Hallelujah before that the Lord had really started to move upon me. Because I got to the place. I didn't care what I looked up.
I looked like a place. Hallelujah. It's not come out my nose. Let it come.
I don't care how to do it. How about the tears. I tried to hold back the tears. I don't come in.
But the tears had to come. The tears had to come. So my heart could be softened. So I let the tears roll down my cheeks.
I didn't care anymore. How I looked. How I sounded. Hallelujah.
But I raised my hands. I'm going to raise my hands to the Lord. Maybe I'll keep my eyes closed. I won't be distracted.
I'll do like I'm black every thing out. I raised my hands to the Lord. Hallelujah. I closed my eyes and blacked everything out.
I did things. Then I was not accustomed to do it. Hallelujah. I wasn't accustomed to raising my hands.
I was a church going like that. But I raised my hands anyway. Down in the front. Hallelujah.
And I called upon Jesus name. They told me to take my tire. Turn it around backwards. I would have did it.
Hallelujah to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. But I didn't tell me how to do it. They just called upon the name of Jesus.
Hallelujah, who so ever. call upon the name of the Lord they shall be saved. That shall is a promise. It's a promise unto you and to your children that are far off.
If you call upon the name of Jesus you shall be saved. But you tell people they call upon Jesus and they go you ain't gonna get nothing. You gotta call upon the name of Jesus Christ. I opened up my mouth and I said Jesus Jesus Jesus and I kept on calling on that name.
The more I called upon the name. The loom with my new disposition and the mind of my new mind. The mind of praise and the mind of lift my hands. Something started to happen.
I felt the quickening power of God move upon me. I never felt that I called upon his name. I felt my knees start to buckle sometimes. I said, what is this?
I'm gonna go with it anyway. I never felt nothing like this. I'm gonna go with it. That Sunday and June 1st.
The Lord, the Lord, and the Lord. I'm gonna go over here. I was praising God. I was over there.
I was over there. I was over there. I was over there. I didn't know what happened to me.
I never heard myself. I felt something different. I went to sit at Ruby Jackson's house. I didn't have an appetite for dinner.
I just wanted to find my Bible. I didn't know how to use the Bible. I wasn't gonna do the Bible. I was like, what happened to me?
The Hallelujah. What the jig in his sis or reeth house? The Hallelujah. I had prayer.
And I found out. I found out. I found out what happened to me. I found out.
I received the gift of the Holy Ghost. I found out that I will say that I found out I have power. I found out. I will say Hallelujah.
You got to do it. You got to do it. Don't let mums be a word. Someone, somebody going here got to do something different.
Hallelujah. You're stuck in your traditions. You're stuck in your seat. You're stuck in a place you send on the side of the church.
Hallelujah. You're stuck there. It's time for you to get on stuck. Hallelujah.
If you have a tender heart, you can get on stuck. Hallelujah. This salvation that we have, this salvation is so awesome. This salvation is so amazing.
You know how awesome it is? It's so awesome. Hallelujah. The de angels were peeping over, trying to find out about the salvation that you and I have.
The angels, Hallelujah. We're looking around and saying, what's going on down there? The angels wanted to find out about the power because the angels are a minor and power to the men. But they saw a different type of power working in humanity.
It's all a different type of power working in a human flesh. It's all a different type of power. The power of God, the hallelujah, working inside a mankind. And he wanted to find out what is this salvation all about?
The prophet of old. He wanted to find out what the salvation is all about. I say a prophet side about it. What do you know nothing about it?
The other prophet side about it. What is looking into it? Trying to find out is this for us or somebody else? Hallelujah.
It was for us. Hallelujah. It was for us in the last time. It was for us in the New Testament church.
It was for us. That he came. It was for us. That he gave his life.
That we could be saved. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. Now I pray, God, that now that I got the Holy Ghost. And some of you still need the Holy Ghost. If you want the Holy Ghost, Hallelujah.
You can receive the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. Here in 1 Peter, in chapter 8, it gave a little formula. If you want to receive the Holy Ghost, it's like whom having not seen that you love.
You've got to have some faith in who now you see and not to yet you believe. And it says you rejoice with joy on speakable and full of glory. Do what? Receiving the end of your salvation.
So let's talk about before you receive salvation. You've got to rejoice with joy on speakable. Some of you are just rejoicing now. This is a rejoice.
But a choice on speakable is your open. You're rejoicing with joy on speakable. You're wide open. You're no longer doing this.
What you're doing this. You say Lord, have your way. Do whatever you want with me. Lord, you've got to knock me down.
Knock me down. But I'm here to give myself to you. I'm here to worship you in a different way. I'm here to praise you in a different way.
I'm here to get out of myself. So you've got to get out of yourself. They give what God wants to give to you. You've got to get yourself out.
Get yourself out. Get yourself out. Get filled up. As long as you're in a way, you can't get no Holy Ghost because you're too full of yourself.
Get yourself out. Get out of yourself. Let God fill you up. Get out.
Get out. Get out. Get out. Get out.
Get out. Get out. God is looking for somebody. That's willing to get out of himself.
He's looking for somebody. He's willing to get rid of himself. He's looking for somebody to get rid of the pride. He's looking for somebody to do something different.
Hallelujah. But now I've got salvation. Hallelujah. And now, Hallelujah.
Now that I've got salvation. Hallelujah. I'm kept but a power of God onto salvation ready to be revealed. Because he does another salvation.
Hallelujah. This still remains at the rest for the people of God. This still another salvation ready to be revealed. I got this salvation now.
Hallelujah. And God is keeping me by his power. To be kept. To be kept in custody by God.
To be kept in security and preservation by God. I'm being kept from the power of darkness because I'm the Holy Ghost. I'm being kept. Hallelujah.
From falling. Now I'm to Him. They're able to keep me from falling. They present you with the presence of glory.
But they see the joy that He's keeping me from falling. All I've got to do is look unto the hills. When it's coming to my help. But my help is coming from the Lord.
My help coming from the Lord. When I look to the hills. I look to a God who's not sleeping. I can look to a God who's not how slobrid.
I look to a God who's awake. So if I call Him in a new time, He's there. When I call Him in the morning, He'll awake. When I call Him in the midnight hour.
My God is awake. He doesn't have to be waking up. He's already awake. Waiting for me to commune.
Waiting for me to call. Waiting for me to be joined. Waiting for me to glory. Waiting for me to worship.
The sun shall not smite me by day. Go to moonlight and I. Hallelujah. He preservice.
My soul. My soul is preserved by God. I'm kept in security by God. Because Jesus said no man shall be able to pluck Him, be out of His hand.
Hallelujah. If I'm in the hand of God. He has a quick grip on me. If I'm in the hand of God.
I'm in security. If I'm in the hand of God. I'm in good custody because He's a good parent. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. He's keeping me. He's keeping me alive. He's keeping me by His name.
The name of the Lord. It's a strong tower. The righteous. Run therein.
And it's safe. Are you safe? Are you safe in the name of Jesus? Have you called that name?
Are you safe? Hallelujah. I'm kept by the power of God unto salvation. Ready for the revealed.
Because there's a salvation that I'm happy about. There's a salvation that I'm waiting for. Hallelujah. At this salvation, the Lord Himself is going to sin with a shout.
At this salvation, I'm going to go up and receive my inheritance. At this salvation, I shall drop the rolls of flesh and rise. The seas they everlasting prize. Hallelujah.
At this salvation, when I'm caught away with the Lord, at this salvation, I shall be changed. In the twinkling of an eye. At the last trumpet, Hallelujah. The last trumpet is on its way to be blown.
The last trumpet, Hallelujah. The angel is getting his lips ready. The blown of the last trumpet. Are you going to be ready?
When the trumpet sounds, the drop, this roll of flesh, they get rid of this vile body. There's no more pain. There's no more eggs. There's no more getting older.
When you get over on the Lord's side. There's no more dying, they say. On the Lord's side. I'm waiting.
I'm waiting. I'm waiting. So why I'm waiting. I'm going to press towards the mark.
Why I'm waiting. I'm going to forget what's behind. Why I'm waiting. I'm pressing.
Why I'm waiting. I'm living right. Why I'm waiting. I'm being sober.
Why I'm waiting. I'm rejoicing in God. Don't take the salvation for granted. This salvation is awesome.
I told you that angels looked into this. The prophets wanted to find out about this. Your salvation you have is awesome. Hallelujah.
You got to be choice with choice because you're saying. If he does nothing else for you. Just in fact, you think about where you came from. You think about what you were.
Hallelujah. Think about the call for sin that had you. Think about all the things that you were involved in. Hallelujah.
Somebody's not thinking about this. You're not thinking about what God brought you from. You're not thinking about the fact that he came and said, I want you. And I want you.
He came by and said, I want you. And I want you. He came in hand, slicked every one of us and places here. Someone going to the farmer's market.
You don't go grab the first apple you see. You pick through the fruit. I know I do. I pick the one.
The good ones. I want those ones that look sloppy and brown. I want a good one. The good ones.
The good ones. The good ones. The good ones. The good ones.
He's looking over. He's looking over. I know I'm a mess. I know I'm a mess.
You know, you are a mess. You agree with God. I'm a mess. You belong to me.
That's the ones he wants. When you agree with God, don't buck against God. He says, I want you. But if you're stuffed on for yourself, I'm not like that.
Justification keeps you out of God's shopping cart. But when you're the worst one, he loves much. You have to love God with everything you've got. You've got to love him and love him so more because of what he has done.
Hallelujah. But the fact that he decided to hand select your hand selected. I hear the things that I handmade are more expensive, right? The things that I hand selected.
Someone has to go out and pick whatever the strawberry is for you. You're going to pay a bigger price. But God said, I'm going to come through the picking and selecting. I'm going to let Angel come to it.
I'm coming to myself to select and pick. Hallelujah. He said, I redeemed thee. I called thee by thy name.
Fear not. He said, I'll be with you. Through the flood. I'll be with you.
Through the fire. You should not be burned. You should not be overtaken by the flood. I'm going to be with you.
When Jesus comes on board, he's with you for life. He's in this for you for the long haul. All we got to do is stick with him for the long haul. As long as you live holy, long as we keep ourselves in the love of God by obeying his commandments.
That's how you keep yourself in the love of God. And build yourself up in your most holy faith praying and the Holy Ghost. You can stay in the love of God. You can stay in the church.
