From the first meeting between little butch CC and little high femme Hillary while CC is smoking a cigarette under the pier to their photo booth shenanigans and the fact that they stay long distance pen pal lovers for 10 years before they ever even see each other again, this movie just screams gay. The male relationships in CC and Hillary's lives all fail and in the end, they're only left with each other and they're much happier that way. CC even gains custody of Hillary's daughter and is in the delivery room when she's born.
