Well, there was a phone call today between um the South Carolina Senate GOP and President Donald Trump and 01:39 A gentleman that I believe was in on that call. We've got state Senator Josh Kimball along with us. Josh, you were indeed on that call, weren't you? Well, the president, let's say the president is very interested in having us read District South Carolina. Yes. A lot of us, a lot of us are on board with that, including me. So, I mean, what was it? Let's just go, what was the over? I know there's certain things you can and cannot discuss, but what was the overall tone of the call? Do you believe? I mean, look, I think the White House 02:07 generally, whether it's in public statements or the president's tweets on truth, truth, social, all that has been very clear that he wants states like ours to fight back like Virginia did. I look at what happened in Virginia. Spanberger ran as a moderate. Yeah. Okay. And none of us believed that uh on ours. Most of us didn't believe it, but you people in Virginia said, Oh, Spanberger is great moderate and all this. And she gets in and just blows the mouth up and takes a state that just had a Republican governor with Yonkin and makes it essentially a California of East coast. Yeah. 02:36 So I think the president saw that as a wake up sign that we got fight back and fight fire with fire. And you've seen a lot of states do it. I mean, you look at what Florida just did in Tennessee, Louisiana, and I think you would like to see our state join in on that. We don't have as many seats, obviously, as Florida, but there's one seat that would definitely be in play with the sixth congressional district where Clyburn is. And I think that the idea is go pick up anywhere on the map you can an additional Republican seat. I mean, one seat could make or break. 03:05 A lot of things uh there in the House. Senate Republicans, are they, I mean, you said that there's some support. um This thing would require what, two-thirds of the House and the Senate to adopt? Yeah, it'll take two, well, we'd have to do it under sign-e-dawd. Right, right. We're going out of session next Thursday to the end of regular session, so I think it'd be very difficult to get it done prior to that. think there's a number, a lot of us want to do this, and I'm... 03:33 certainly want to do it if we can do it the right way and get it to where we can pick up an extra seat. But I think you'd have to put it under the Sine Die resolution to continue the conversation beyond regular session. Yeah, that'll require 31 members of the Senate, two thirds and two thirds in the House. Pretty heavy lift. um mean, we have Republicans, enough Republicans to do it if the party sticks together. Yeah. But we just have to see how that plays out. I think there's certainly a lot of conversation around that and trying to get a Sine Die resolution that would allow us to come back because the governor's already said 04:03 He's not calling us back. My hope would have been the governor master. If we don't have a sunny die resolution under the state constitution, the governor can call the legislature back at his discretion. If we have a sunny die resolution, he can't. The governor's already come out said he would not call us back for purposes of redistricting.
